It's pretty good at times, but I really can't stand it because I know that it's just Mel Gibson trying to guilt trip everyone into believing what he does.

I found it to be a very powerful film, but I couldn't help feeling just a little bit like Stan and Kenny after it was over.

I hated it, It was shallow, dull, and had no substance.

A film must contain an good story, good dialogue and still be entertaining. That film contain non of that. It was just Jesus being tortured for 2 hours.

However, in terms of cinematography it managed to create an atmosphere and thats the films only redeeming feature.

Personally i'm not going to bother with it. What was the point of making another film based on Jesus after The Last Temptation of Christ? Let alone a film that just beats the crap out of Jesus for two hours.....

The Movie itself was great, but I say the reception of the movie is just so biased and ridiculous.

First of all, Most Christians were so against violence and gore shown on TV and media culture, but after seeing this movie full ofprepulsive torture, they say "ITs GREAT. THIS MOVIE SHOULD BE SEEN BY EVERYONE IN THIS COUNTRY." How sadly ironic is that? On one side, they despise(or they say they do) violence and blood shown. What about this? Not a single critical comment had been made about the bloody content. While this is because the movie is focused on Christ himself and not the bloody content, it's obvious that the reception which was leaned towards The Passion was biased in favor of Christians.

Second, Jews were silent about this movie. While I'm not a Jew, I never can understand how it feels to be depicted as negetive characters in Christian Movies, but simply put: I'd be pissed. However, most of the negative reviews of Jews were all ignorant(which I hardly doubt) or silenced in their voices about the movie. This shows how much America is so publiclyinfluenced by religion when it comes to big issues.

Third, Mel Gibson is a racist.

I quite enjoyed watching Jesus being tortured for 2 hours. The Romans gave him plenty of chances to go free but Jesus kept having to make sarcastic comments to get their noses up. He deserved everything he got.

Actually he's quite right about the first part. Many Christians claim to be against violence, and bash movies and video games for their violence and not what they focus on. But then they make exceptions for anything Bible related. Its not "a load of ****", as you so eloquently put it, it's the truth, and like he said, its ironic.

I am not so sure about the second part of his post though.

I do, I knew the plot from spiderman too, but I didn't expect them to jump right into it, I expected explainations behind his history, and some character development, things that we generally see in good movies.

Yes and no,depending on who you ask. I suggest finding out for yourself.

But as far as I know Mel Gibson hates Jews and his movie reflects that.

meh... I heard it makes the jews out as the bad guys...(which is easy to believe considering Mel Gibson is a well-known anti semite)...so naturally I didn't bother watching.

As for the guy that asked about it being based on the bible... As a director, Gibson doesn't have to follow the story in the bible exactly. He can take the original story, shape, mold, and interpret it his way, and show you that.

1. I'm not saying the Passion is bad. The receptions were.

2. Everything I said was said in the news. Find it in Wikipedia or whatever by finding the reception towards Passion. It's been discussed before so it's not total bull.

3, U know why that's the biggest load of crap you've read in a long time? It's because you don't read. Simply put, you're not an active reader.

4. And yes. Mel Gibson is a racist. Everyone knows that.
