I watched that before I became a Christian and it blew me away. It is one of the best films I have ever seen. The part that hit me the most was when Jesus was talking about praying for your enemy rather than your loved ones.flavort
Although it's not the greatest films I've seen, I liked that same exact scene in the movie.
[QUOTE="sinarilias"]...Most Christians were so against violence and gore shown on TV and media culture...hoop_hard
Thats a load of bull, Christians like Violence & Gore on TV as much as the next person. You guys do nothing thats said in the bible.
Hahaha, they like to hide that stuff from the people. Hmmm... Mel Gibson should do a movie based on the Crusades... that was pretty gory... he should cuz he's a blood thirsty psycho.[QUOTE="Rip870"][QUOTE="The_Ish"][QUOTE="Rip870"][QUOTE="sinarilias"]Third, Mel Gibson is a racist.
sinarilias
Because he makes a moviebased on the Bible?
I think he meant anti-semetist. Which is most likely is, considering how he depicted Jews in The Passion and his past behavior.
Well i dont know much about the bibel i have never even read it. But isnt the movie based on the storys in the Bible?
So is the Bible anti-semetist?
The Old testament is by Jews, so I don't see how the Bible is anti-semetist.
The bible isn't anti-semetist. In Revelations Chapter 7 it mentions of the 12 tribes of Israel that will be allowed into Heaven at the end of the world.
The movie is historically accurate though in the depiction that the Jewish high priest Caiaphas and the Sanhedrin (court made of 23 Jewish judges) were responsible for the arrest of Christ & his subsequent crucifiction.
Historically it's not anti-semetist, but theres no denying the antisemetic remarks made by Mel Gibson on the night of his DUI arrest.
[QUOTE="SaintLeonidas"]Is that the one based on that ficiton character guy who died and came back a zombie?
LAZZOR
Yeah but he was a bad zombie I mean he never tried to eat people's brains.
thats jesus for ya, always an outcast.
I don't see the point of watching Jesus get tortured for 2 hours.Sajo7For most of us, we cannot grasp the actual sacrifice that He made for us without some sort of visual representation. Even The Passion doesn't do His sacrifice justice. I was a great film, but none of us will ever be able to fully comprehend what Jesus really did for us. I thank Him every day for that sacrifice.

It's not disputed that he was crucified. Or are you disputing history now? Even if you don't think he was God, and his sacrfice meant nothing, it's still a sacrifice. You or I would cry out like babies up on that cross, and yet you minimalize what He did. Very sad.[QUOTE="hoop_hard"]For most of us, we cannot grasp the actual sacrifice that He made for us without some sort of visual representation. Even The Passion doesn't do His sacrifice justice. As my friend said: "It's rated 18, has the word "passion" in the title, but doesn't have one sex scene"

Funny though, because my mom forced me to see it at first, because she thought she might be able to change my mind about being a christian.
So after we watched the movie in the theatre, I fell on my knees and started to pray, saying I believe in god. My mom was smiling until i started laughing with my friends. Man she was soooo angry. I probably wouldnt have done that if my friends weren't around.

Mocking something your mother truly believes in and getting her hopes up to the sky just to dash them like that will have that effect.

Think about it, smart guy. Did he really have a choice? Maybe you should reread.
considering i'm jewish, i decided to pass on it, and will continue to do so.matrix_hiei
kyle was jewish and still saw it.
[QUOTE="nbtrap1212"]I can understand if you don't believe he's the son of God, but to say that he never existed is a very immature and ignorant comment.hoop_hard
No its not, however, it is very immature and ignorant of you to call people that based on what they believe in.
Whether or not the man existed cannot be called an opinion or belief. And what did I call people?
I can understand if you don't believe he's the son of God, but to say that he never existed is a very immature and ignorant comment.nbtrap1212What's the proof exactly?
Um, Jesus DID exsist. He may not be the messiah, but saying he didnt exsist is flat out stupid...Def_Jef88
Exactly. Atheists love to make fun of Christian beliefs, but always make themselves look like asses when they say Jesus never existed.

The proof is history. The fact that Jesus existed is no more subjective than the fact that Augustus, Plato, or Vergil existed.

yes the actual people existed back in the day, but to think that he's "magical" and lives in the clouds and stuff is all on you
