No its not, however, it is very immature and ignorant of you to call people that based on what they believe in.

Whether or not the man existed cannot be called an opinion or belief. And what did I call people?

Lets see, immature and ignorant. And I believe that the existance of Jesus Christ cannot be determined by the likes of you.

What's the proof exactly?

The proof is history. The fact that Jesus existed is no more subjective than the fact that Augustus, Plato, or Vergil existed.

yes the actual people existed back in the day, but to think that he's "magical" and lives in the clouds and stuff is all on you

That's what I originally said. Whether or not you think he is the son of God is one's opinion, but his existence is not.

I said the comments were immature and ignorant. And you're the one ignoring history, so don't go asking me for proof of something that is generally agreed upon.

With that logic, I guess you could argue that John Kennedy never existed. SHOW ME HIS BODY!!! I NEED PROOF!!!

I saw half and thought it was the biggest load of crap ever.

I still don't understand whygod let jesus die. He was his son and he lets him suffer and die for us? Wtf? God made us, he rules us, he lords over us and this son who could unity the world into peace...he kills him for our sins? How about keeping him alive, making everyone christian and stopping things like the crusades and jihad? Oh no that makes too much sence.

No. The Bible is for the most part not exact history. It is generally believed that he existed (as much as any other historic person) and you're claiming he did not. You bear the burden of proof.

Then again most of those documents were never found.

Bad argument, I'm sure he's buried at some national cemetery.

But if you don't believe that, there's plenty of video footage of him.

The figures you've mentioned, cannot be removed from history, not only were there accounts from more than one small group of people, but once they are removed, you create a large gap in human history. When Jesus is removed, this doesn't occur, because for all we know, those self contradicting books were just made up.

So where's the evidence exactly?

Notice how it does not say "Church leaders debate over..."

Yeah, and I know you're going to complain how this is not really exact proof, and you're right. My point is, as I said before, his existence is no more subjective than other historical figures'. So your claim is the deviant one and you must show the proof.

The only reason I saw that movie is because It was one of Mel's films. I was a bit dissapointed. There was this guy above me crying throughout the whole damn film. Now I understand if your Christian and that kind of thing is powerful to you, but c'mon...It ruins the movie for everyone else you crybaby bastard. Again, no offense to your religion or anything else.

You can't prove that a non-existant being does not exist, using proof, because there wouldn't be any.

Anyway, I'll prove to you that Jesus didn't exist when you prove that the Easter bunny didn't exist, k?

How about a source that's not just some random site on the net eh?yoshi-lnex

You ask for proof, someone gives it to you, and then you say "Oh, it's just a random site, it's not proof." Even though it gives historical evidence. . . .How about a "Random" site with "Random" historical sources?

Acutally, just picking out a random site isn't really proof. Anybody can put anything on the internet. Thats why sources matter.

The problem is you cant prove it. The fact is your just providing theories. There are 3 popular theories.

1. Jesus was the son of God who came to earth in human form.
2. Jesus was a man who was later deified.
3. Jesus never existed. The whole story is a myth.

What you believe is YOUR business but don't act like you KNOW the answer.

I saw it. It was okay. Not that great. The directing and acting was very good. But I have heard the whole story. The idea of the movie is very unoriginal (Jesus' crucifiction has been done many times). But I wouldn't go as far to say it was amazing. Not even the best of the year. Just slightly above average. I think Gibson could do better.

BTW, I'm an agnostic Christian, but unlike 90% of the comments I've read, I tried not to let my bias get in the way of my opinion..

[QUOTE="murlow12"][QUOTE="FrozeN__54"]I never watched it. Why watch jesus get tortured? Doesn't sound like a very good movie to me.hoop_hard

Like we've said over and over in this thread, to understand the sacrifice He made for us.

Once again, he didnt sacrifice **** for us.

Whether or not that may be true (Seriously, it's just your opinion...it's as useful/worthless as everyone else's here), it's still about a moment in history. It's the same as if a film about the holocaust were made.

And we can't prove Jesus was crucified. We can't 100% prove anything. Most philosopher's agree that absolute truth is impossible to reach, so just watch the damn movie...

...and I must say it is a superb film...it is a film I am stunned with and willnot forget in a while.

I just couldnt stop watching it, it was so captivating.

wow, just wow, I dont know what to say...one of the best films I have ever seen.

props to Mel Gibson though, thats for sure.

Tell me your thoughts on the movie if you have seen it.

I can't say that its really good. Its more of a movie to watch and be... serious about. I had to watch it in 8th grade. I don't want to watch it again. Sadly one of my friends said it was so boring. I don't understand how you can watch it and not have it effect you.

Well whether or not it's 'a moment in history' is debatable. We can call it a significant event in Christian beliefs regardless of whether or not it or the man known as Jesus lived.

The Passion of the Christ, though a dramatic movie, is perhaps the best romanticised version of the Jesus passion story. However, it still vilifies the Jews (I'm sure Mel had no problem with that) as some sort of enemy in Christianity and it over-emphasizes the suffering of Jesus.

What Jesus went through was hardly notable. Torquemada, the Hammer of Heretics, would have looked down on it at an amateur attempt to cause pain and suffering.

He was likely a real person. There is however, no evidence that proves his existence and the idea that it is a myth has actual weight for consideration.

Currently, there is no evidence for Jesus' existence and the details surrounding his existence are sketchy. When was he born? The bible has 2 different time periods, under the rule of Herod or during the time of Qurinius' census. Where was he born? No evidence was found of a 1st century Nazareth. Why are the Romans in the bible made to look like servants of the Jews? What crime did Jesus participate in? Roman executions were done so in violation of Roman laws, so for him to die requires more than 'offering love and peace', and Romans are subject to no other authority despite however much the bible, or Matthew in particular, wants to vilify Jews.

Proof isn't really important with any belief, religious, scientific, whether the opinion is called a fact or a theory...absolute truth does not exist...at all...
