In the words of Flava Flav "Ignorance is at an all time high."

I haven't eaten meat in years and I feel better than I ever did as a meat eater. I get plenty of protien, my "manhood" is very much still around, and I never have problems taking a dump. Plus, ladies dig it. Try laying the "I care deeply about animals" rap on the next female you see. It works. Being veg rules.

Meat is really easy to replace in your diet. All beans in general are way good for you. Try making some black beans and rice. Burritos are also a killer veg food. Stick anything in them. Veggie burgers, veggie chicken ect are usually pretty good too. Bocca and morningstar stuff is the most common but kind of expensive sometimes. Try a GFS or something like that and you can get a pack of 10 burgers for the price of a 4 pack of bocca. Tofu is really good too if you can cook it right, otherwise it tastes like a sponge. I like to cook it up with some peppers and cajun seasoning and put it in a salad.

If you're dealing with parents, prepare to man up and take care of yourself. Learn to make your own food, get a job and buy your veggie stuff, ect. This will not only earn you respect from your parents but prepare you for real life.

Go for it kid.

Im only 14 and my parents never let me do anything. When I was 12.I could not even ride my bike to my friends house that was about 3 houses away and when I could go to his house My parents made me call him to come bring me to his house......Now you see.

Go MLK on them then and start some nonviolent protesting.

OH! Go on a hunger strike! That'll teach 'em when they pass by your skeletal corpse.

Good for you.

I read this Bible verse one time that said "Better a meal of vegetables served with love than a meal of meat served with hatred." So eating meat is technically not wrong, but today we have the unnecessarily brutal slaughterhouses and growing farms and stuff so it's good to hear that a few less animals will die now.

Half-Life_man

what about the ones that die from deforestation in south america to feed his soy needs?

Id rather kill cattle than an exotic animal.

But didn't God reject Cain's offering of vegetables because it was crap and instead favoured Abel because he offered meat? I mean if God can't live without meat...

God is not real.

Smart man. It's much better to wait until your body is fully developed and then you can think about becoming totally vegetarian.

quick question for the veggies - do you insist on your partner eating the same as you?

would you cook meat for them?

would you have to use different frying pans etc?

if you're eating out would you sit there while they ate a huge medium/raw steak?

just curious

That argument is a load of crap. The amount of land required for raising food animals is exponentially larger than the amount needed for growing soy. And if you think vegetarians are the only people who eat soy products, take a look at whats in the food you eat. Most americans eat soy in some form every day.

Protein is protein hombre, you just need to make sure you get it. That's what most teens don't realize. When I was your age most kids ate horribly if they were "vegetarian" and didn't realize that they weren't getting enough nutrients from what they were eating. You can't eat noodles made with bleached flour and salads with iceberg lettuce and expect to feel healthy.

If you want to be serious about this google is your friend, you can do this, you just have to make sure you're doing something good for you and not saying your vegetarian and eating the worst possible choices out there.

I love glitchspot. I posted this three times and it dosent seem to want to get posted. anyway

cattle takes up more land. but most cattle is raised in america

soy is normally grown in south america where they cut down rainforest.

you're welcome. Dont listen to PETA.theyve never been right about anything

i dont eat soy, i go out of my way to make sure I dont.

It's still more balanced than what most vegetarians in the West eat. Not to mention there are huge differences in the s.tyle of cooking and ingredients used in Eastern and Western cooking.

The Western vegetarian might have a salad composed of light greens and croutons which is absolutely awful and provides very little nutrients. The Eastern vegetarian might have white rice and a side of fried whole pea pods or some azuki beans which are packed with protein and other nutrients.

Not to mention Western cooking involves many unhealthy uses of oil. The East uses oil but lightly and in manners that don't fill you up with oil.

the bold, underlined bit is a flat out lie.

is it? Im gonna be pretty blunt here, and tell you that you dont know anything.

So heres some sources, and next time you wanna call me a liar I hope the little voice inside your head tells you you're full of ****

Complete proteins, which constitute the first group, contain ample amounts of all of the essential amino acids. These proteins are found in meat, fish, poultry, cheese, eggs, and milk. Incomplete proteins, which constitute the second group, contain only some of the essential amino acids. These proteins are found in a variety of foods, including grains, legumes, and leafy green vegetables.

the only way someone who refuses to eat meat can get complete protein is to import amaranth from asia. and youll have to spend QUITE a long time eating that just to get what you need. SO eat meat, be healthy and save the rain forest

peanuts are GREAT for you, but they still lack some of the AA's.

I eat peanuts all the time. You should at least eaty lean chicken everyday to be healthy.

Real men need meat to live. So enjoy not eating steak, fried chicken, bbq ribs, burgers, hot dogs, pork chops, ham and turkey sandwiches, bacon, and sausage.

Woot! Get ready for a yellowish skin tone, less muscle and less energy! Gonna be fun!

I understand why people dont eat meat, but it confuses me when people feel 'bad' when they eat it. The animal will die anyway, there will always be meat eaters. I suppose I can understand why people dont like the idea of eating an animal that was once a living creature, but you arent changing the world by not eating an animal that will be slaughtered anyway. The only thing your changing is your body. For the worse.

By the way, the whole "I care about saving the rainforest" charade is cute.

I do care about the rainforest. I actually happen to like animals quite a bit.

Its one thing to be a vegetarian, its another to say its something that it isnt. it is possible to be a vegetarian and be healthy, but it takes A LOT more work than just eating meat does. you have a better chance of being fat while taking on that diet too.

dont try to point out that most meat easters are fat either because most people dont know **** about diet to begin with and they chug down sodas like its water.

of course you dont NEED to eat meat, but unless you feel like importing all sorts of foods, you arent as healthy as someone who eats a balanced diet including meat. Complete proteins are the most important part of a human diet, and you dont really get that.

theres only really two kind of vegetarians, the ones who are so skinny due to muscle loss (WORST THING FOR YOU) or the kind that are greasey and fat.

if a human being had to choose one food to live off the rest of their lives (priced reasonably) I would say boneless skinless chicken breast would be the best bet.
