I wouldn't mind driving one of those things in my city. It wouldn't be very lady-like, but it sure would cause some nosebleeds to the Japanophiles that used to go to my school.

Sure go ahead, but the movie wasn't filmed in Tokyo it was filmed in New York and modified the city with cgi.

To the TC - There's nothing wrong, in fact I encourage you. I myself plan to move to Japan someday when I can afford it. There are many reasons for such a move, but we should prob save that for another thread.

No, there's nothing wrong with that. Tokyo is just like in Tokyo Drift; everyone speaks English and drive cars that have the grip of melted butter on a marble floor.

Go to Japan, I'll go with you. I hear the chicks over there are great, not as crappy as American chicks. People are nicer too, unless you meet the former DK. That movie made me want to go there too. Let's do it, I'm tired of America!

Take a guess with this. Would you say that US is better because you saw Iron Man? One thing is movies and another reality. Things aren't like movies MOST OF TIMES

Tokyo/Japan is nothing like what you see in Tokyo Drift. If you want a detailed and realistic view of Japan then I strongly suggest you watch All About Lily Chou-Chou and Bounce Ko Gals. I also recommend you read some of Haruki Murakami's books.

It's far from how you picture it....and there's a reason why Japan has one of the highest suicide rates in the world.

What has modified cars done to get you interested in Japanese history. The history is before Imperialism, and modernisation. The history is Bushido and what-not. But yes, I agree, Japan is a fascinating place with its diversity.

If you want to go there because of the hot chicks u saw in the movie, ull be disappointed. The girls in the movie were mostly asian-americans (most werent japanese chicks at all) from L.A. not native japanese chicks. Dont get me wrong, real japanese chicks are hot but they dont look liek the ones from the movies

Chicks and cars aside, there are many excellant reasons to move to Japan. I'm sure people can come up with negative things to say, no nation is perfect. But Japanese society is definitely more respectful, civilized and hard-working than most Americans. I would move to Japan ina heartbeat if I could afford it.

I couldnt imagine living there for the rest of my life, but I would definitely try it out for as long as I can.

You are right. They are a lot more respectful. People there bow when they greet each other and they are extremely polite.

Have you ever been there? They're extremely racist and xenophobic, don't expect to be treated as if you yourself were japanese but if you can look past these flaws...then by all means, go for it.
