yep. and although i know Moore skews some things those are pretty compelling reasons why it's not so bad. not to mention that i've seen other shows on healthcare including ones done by the bbc.

No. An Australian here. I did live in the US for a year when I was younger (Blacksburg, Virginia no less) but that was long before I had any interest in politics. In your opinion, how many times does that happen per show? It may be troubling to watch two people with opinions talk and one of them be different from your own but you will be very misinformed if you don't consider the other side. Bill has gotten heated b4 (Barney Frank) but he is very direct in his interviews for the most part. Peope who don't even watch the show characterize him as "evil" and mean. LOL

I just watched the movie a couple weeks ago myself. While I was watching it, my jaw about hit the floor several times. I've never been an avid follower of Michael Moore's films, so I decided to try to find out if any of the things about foreign healthcare in Sicko were true. I was shocked to find out how much of it actually is.

My wife just gave birth to our second child on June 4th via an unplanned c-section. The company she works for does not have paid maternity leave anymore, but they offered her short term disability, which is of course only a certain percentage of her normal pay, plus health insurance premiums were taken off the top of that. She was given 8 weeks off. Thankfully, I earn enough money to where we didn't have to seriously worry, but still, when I see and read about people in Europe getting at least twice that much time off and at full pay... and a freaking nanny or maid, I couldn't believe it.septemberluc
