I'm a communist simply because I believe a governments first duty is the welfare of its citizenry, rather than the monetary and labor exploitation thereof. Even Adam Smith wrote that free markets tend toward monopolies, unfair wages, and political oligarchy in 'Wealth of Nations'.br0kenrabbit

we really dont have monopolies here.

the best thing for anyone is to be self reliant. if we get weak and dependant on a government, at any time they can give us the axe and well be screwed.

Theres really no exploitation, sorry get a new conspiracy site.

my political position is national identity.

CptJSparrow

If that were true then there would be only one political position in the United States.

no. it just so happens a lot of people in this country arent too bright.

It is a defining characteristic of America that our political views are multifarious, and intended to be that way.

our government isnt even meant to be anything of a big size. it was designed to stay small and stay out of peoples lives.

America is meant to have all sorts of different people living anyway they see fit as long as they dont hurt other people.

Its pretty obvious, actually... its so obvious that im surprised im even telling you this that im talking about through out history

Americas housing market is to blame, do you think america is gonna fall apart or something? Once the housing market clears up well be ahead of the world again. and to this day were still the ONLY super power. Thanks to our way of life, not the european way.

Ilived

What I do know is that you have a huge superiority complex. And isn't saying that something of an oxymoron since almost all white Americans are descended from Europeans who had European values? You may be the only super power, but you still have just as many problems and issues as anywhere else in the world. After the bumbling of the Bush administration most non-Americans don't take you guys seriously anymore.

On the Americans being of European descent...thanks for sending the best and brightest to get the party started!!!! My families left Europe cause they were starving and persecuted. They weren't ever, or even today, proud of being of European descent. My Irish side is more proud of the fact that our ancestors came here and made something of themselves using the American way.

Countries around the world never really took us seriously btw. It just seems that people have used Bush as a "valid" excuse.

you, my friend area a true american. to me it seems that a lot of irish people tend to "get" america pretty well.

Is that why when the Irish and many other immigrants came they were discriminated and treated unfairly? At the start it wasn't a better life, it was more of the same.

They were treated horrible, 100% correct.

But the point is that they didn't whine and complain and want the government to bail them out. They built themselves up and became an important part of American culture, history and society. They opened businesses, their own Catholic schools, and elected politicians who made changes to make their lives better.

But the point is they worked and fought for it, they didn't expect it to be handed to them.

Then why is it that the larger corporate establishments get, the less wages are paid and the more things cost? Communism isn't about depending on the government, it's about localities depending on the individual. Thus the root word of communism is 'commune', to come together in cause. Don't get Communism confused with Police State. FYI, there has never been a communist country on the face of the Earth, only police states in the guise of communism.

The only reason America was so far ahead of europe for so long was because of WWII. Europe was crippled by the war.

Now that Europe is back on it's feet, the EU is doing just as well as America economically. Some would say even better. Don't kid yourself, kay?

Actually as we speak the euro is above the sterling and dollar, so technically the countries using the Euro are doing better economically.

because people still apply for the jobs. some people just cant be helped enough. a lot of people are dumb. but thats a society issue, rather than economics. actuallyi ts a whole different thread.

communism requires a huge government to do the things it advocates. without the police state, its not possible.

Just most certainly can, though I would like to point out that 'true' in the sense that you originally used it is essentially a synonym for 'just.' -- And you are forgetting about subjective truths.

I'm also curious...

Curious about how people come to the conclusion that a perfect communist society would in any way compromise video games. :|

because people arent going to make things like that when theyre busy being lazy trying to make subpar necessities.

video games, in order to be "good" need a competitive free market. so kindly take that emoticon and shove it where the sun dont shine.

if you think i lost credibility then you clearly dont know how to comprehend.

H8sMikeMoore

The only reason America was so far ahead of europe for so long was because of WWII. Europe was crippled by the war.

Now that Europe is back on it's feet, the EU is doing just as well as America economically. Some would say even better. Don't kid yourself, kay?

actually, i think ill continue kidding myself. its fun

because america has been far ahead of europe for longer than ww2. Thank slavery. We could have done it another way though

so if you dont mind, ill continue

Actually, pre-1900s it was the british empire that ruled the worlds economy.

All of th communistic societies I know are horrible. Terrible economics, bad health care, poverty and no freedom. - Soviet Union: many people got killed, lines in supermarkets, to little food. - North Korea: all the money and food goes to the army, the small people suffer. - China during the 'great' revolution: If you were an intellectual you were considered bourgeois and put in a work camp, no freedom of speech. - Cuba: they don't really know human rights in that place. On paper communism sounds beautiful but I do not know any communist country that has been good to it's people.

[QUOTE="br0kenrabbit"]I'm a communist simply because I believe a governments first duty is the welfare of its citizenry, rather than the monetary and labor exploitation thereof. Even Adam Smith wrote that free markets tend toward monopolies, unfair wages, and political oligarchy in 'Wealth of Nations'.H8sMikeMoore

we really dont have monopolies here.

the best thing for anyone is to be self reliant. if we get weak and dependant on a government, at any time they can give us the axe and well be screwed.

Theres really no exploitation, sorry get a new conspiracy site.

Are you one of those people that believe that the 911 conpsiracy nuts and the New world order conspiracy group, support communism, LMFAO, those guys are crazy libertarian anti-communists, hey you would probably fit right in there.

I dont believe in the 911 conspiracy myself. Dosent mean it isnt true it just means I dont particularly think thats how it happened.

Yes, I am very libertarian though. However im a registered republican. You realize what you're doing could be done by anyone right? let me explain

LOL ARE YOU ONE OF THOSE CRAZY LEFTIST PEOPLE THAT THINK LIKE THE REPUBLICANS R EVIILL AND LIKE THE FOOD INDUSTRY IS TRYING TO POISON US? LIKE LOL ARE YOU ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO THINK THAT ALL THE FREE LOADERS ARE THE BOTTOM DESERVE A FREE RIDE?? LOL ARE YOU ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO BUYS THE CHE SHIRT AND DOSENT REALIZE THAT YOU -BOUGHT- IT? LOL

u got me wrong, the food industry arn't poisoning us, republicans are not evil (just neocons), y r u a registered republican if ur a libertarian??? (btw do u support ron paul??) i won't ever buy a che T-shirt because i don't think idolising someone would really help the communist cause. I don't understand why u want little goverment if any. With little goverment, business and coporations just replace them, people can vote wot party they want elected, you can't vote wot coporations and business exist. Free loaders may not deserve a free ride, for communism to work, everyone able should get involved. Communism isn't about big goverment and policing, it's about care and consideration for the things at really matter in life. Not ur plasma or xbox360 but the food u eat the shelter u have, the emotions we share, and most importantly social and economical inequality will should have. Remember you only have one life, why waste it consuming junk, while the people on the other side of town are doing 2-3 jobs and still trying to make ends meet. Where did human compassion go.

[QUOTE="Engrish_Major"]People fail to realize that you do not have to be on one extreme or the other. The best society probably has aspects of capitalism and socialism, right? Just because someone believes that some programs should not be run by corporations does not automatically make them a communist, no matter what the conservative radio hosts say.H8sMikeMoore

thats not what im talking about, im talking about the people on thsi forum that blatantly support communism. Im not even talking about socialists here. Just communists

Judging by your screename i'd say you're not JUST after communists. Don't make this into a tactical argument because you will fail miserably. First mcarthyism then it evolves into conservative fascism where everyone even leaning left must be insane. Sorry but i'm not buying what you're selling.

Erm... no, in a communist state video games could be greated without worrying about funding and how much the game would make, it woul be made by the public for the public. The media of a communist state would present real freedom of expression.

I'm a socialist. You obviously don't know a whole lot about communism if you think that people can just will themselves away from participating in capitalist enterprises.

Those were communist dictatorships you mentioned. What about northern and western European countries? Sweden and Spain, for instance, have very active and popular socialist parties, and both of those countries have some of the highest standards of living in the world.

Those actuallly arn't communist states. True communist states have never existed except perhaps in ancient societies.
