Presidential Primaries start tomorrow with the Iowa Causes. Here is a short primer on how they work. While campaigns for the Presidency started months (even years) ago no votes have actually been cast, no delegates have actually been allocated (unless we are talking about that atrocity called Super-delegates). Foreplay is over, now it gets rough.

According to Nate Silver's 538 website this is how the races are shaping up:

Iowa has been feeling some of the Bern with Sanders appearing to be closing the gap ever so slowing with his main rival and contest favorite Hillary Rodham Clinton. For Socialist Bernie to pull the upset he is counting on a high turnout (new voters) to help him create some momentum (he has New Hampshire on the bag).

On the Republican side Texas' Senator Ted Cruz had gained the lead but has seen the race get much tighter after a late surge by business mogul and professional bullshiter Donald Trump. Not much riding for the Republican Party in this vote, if Trump wins he gets Iowa and New Hampshire (which he will win comfortably apparently) and then his momentum might be unstoppable on his way to win the presidential nomination for the Grand Old Party.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So wake up OT and smell the roses, 'Murican democracy is in session. So who you got? Hillary the Snake or Socialist Bernie? Cruz the Weasel or Or the Greatest Show on Earth Donald Trump?

I hope this is one of those instances conservatives go out and vote for Bernie hoping it'll help them in the main election, kind of like they did for Obama but it backfired.

Hope Bernie Sanders wins this one. Trump is falling behind them charts big time, I doubt he'll pull out on Iowa. Hillary vs Bernie is gonna be a good one.

I remember last election it making news that the GOP blocked people at the primary polling sites from voting for Ron Paul, and looked for any and every way to undermine him and prop up Romney, as well as threatening or coercing delegates that don't uphold the status quo in GOP field. As much as Trump leads on other candidates, they might undermine him anyways, and they probably will. Sadly I wouldn't put it past the Democratic Party to do this with Hillary against Bernie Sanders either, they've shown ever since the first debate the press ignores polls that show Bernie getting support and instead will focus on anything pro-Hillary.

I fully predict Trump winning Iowa. I heard a potential strategy from the GOP is that if the nomination comes down to Trump and Cruz the party leaders will support Trump. They believe that neither can truly win the election, but that Cruz will actively try to divide the party further for his own gain (because he has a history of dividing the party for his own gain), and essentially give up on the White House this go around.

As for Clinton vs Sanders I believe Clinton will take Iowa. As for where I stand between the two, well, I have never been more conflicted. Sanders really tugs at my heartstrings. I really want to see him get money out of politics and help reduce income inequality, but the way he seems intent on getting it done is through the use of voters showing up well after election day and supporting his proposals. This didn't work hardly at all for Obama. Voters have favored proposals made by Obama overwhelmingly and it changed zero republican (the ones in congress) minds. Clinton on the other hand easily has the most impressive resume of any candidate in either field (hell Marco Rubio admitted as much), and I do believe she has the political persuasive to do what she wants to do. Not to mention being able to seek advice from Bill any time she wishes is a serious plus in my book.

This is what I think will happen to Trump, anybody remember this?

Or this?

I think the GOP establishment is going to undermine the democratic process to put their establishment candidate in place, which I honestly don't know would be Jeb Bush or Ted Cruz but probably one of those two if something fishy goes on.

What boggles my mind is that people still support Hillary despite all of her scandals. I'll just have to assume the majority really is distracted and ill-informed to have continuous support for Hillary and that most of Bernie supporters are long-term internet users.

It has to be Bernie or Trump or else we're fucked.

Sadly I think Bernie will get screwed somehow. Definitely my candidate of choice too.

If Trump does lose like I think he will I don't think it will be some sort of shady business. I think when it comes down to it most people realize what an AWFUL candidate he is and he will get crushed.

Good god not trump.

Although, although, I would pick trump over Hillary. Not that i'd vote for either of them, but he'd be more entertaining and I hate Hillary much more.

He would be awful but I really think he'll get enough votes for the nomination. Question is will the Republican establishment put up a fight if he gets it, though not going with the voters would be bad so there's not much they can do.

The democrats rigged the system this time for Hillary, North Dakota democrats used to caucus on Super Tuesday, but last time Obama won in a land slide here, so now we caucus in June. But like I said, Bernie will just be a Humphrey, McGovern, Mondale, Dukakis embarassment. It took 30 years and Bill Clinton to finally chase those left wing nuts out of the establishment, and the party has mostly experienced success since.

Anyways, Bernie and Hillary will virtually tie, Hillary will probably pick up more delegates. She'll also lose New Hampshire in a land slide. Then she has to campaign like she never has before.

Trump will win Iowa by 8%, Cruz and Rubio will virtually tie. Trump will then easily win New Hampshire and South Carolina. By then the race will be narrowed down to trump, Cruz, and Rubio. Trump will continue polling near the 50s and Cruz and Rubio will eventually have to make a deal on who gets whose delegates.

I predict it will show just how morally bankrupt the whole process is and how, if you have enough in the way of assets (financial or legacy) you can buy a nomination and presidency.

@Serraph105: Of course I don't want Trump, but since they both suck, you know.. I honestly don't see Trump doing more damage than Hillary.

I wish people would get over wanting to vote for who they'd think "would get more done" rather than voting for their best interests. I'm not voting for anyone except someone that has that.

Brazil?

I've heard Canada and I've heard England. I have not yet heard someone say Brazil.

It catches you off guard. Like asking what someone wants to eat if they could have anything and they yell out "COCKTAIL FRANKS!"

So why Brazil?

No he didn't, not at all

What he said is that he wanted a way to disable all forms of internet for our enemies and he also wants to replace the network they're on with networks that we monitor.

So yeah, you were not even close.

Trump is far less scary than Hillary, Sanders or Cruz. Hillary puts her own "convenience" ahead of the safety of our country and the other 2 are too far extreme to the left and right respectively.

Trump actually isn't that bad. Is he the best option? Not at all because Kasich and Rubio are far more qualified and equipped and level headed to be president. But out of the main 4 front runners right now Trump is actually the best option or least dangerous/scary option depending on your view.

In this day and age, a blatantly racist and xenophobic president isn't a great choice.

@Jaysonguy: You are supporting a racist warmongering idiot, stop trolling.

He's not racist

He's not a warmonger

He wants the best for America and true Americans, that is in no way a bad thing.

He hates muslims.

That should be enough.

I predict.

Trump will win.

I will say "look this proves that republicans are shitty people"

Somebody will say "this doesn't represent all conservatives. Wah! Wah!!"

Trump is far less then Hillary?

You do realize that he called to end the internet right?

Hillary should be awaiting trial right now. If her last name wasn't Clinton they would be ready to lock her up for life.

She had about 8 hearings against her.

Nothing was ever turned up.

Here are my predictions. Trump wins Iowa on the Republican side while Hilary barely wins Iowa on the democrat side.It will be interesting to see how the republicans react and what they do to prevent Trump from becoming the eventual republican nominee after the Iowa caucus.
