Is it a sin? Yes, but so are may other things:

- People cannot wear clothes of the opposite sex; No pants for women. (see Joan of Arc)

- If you build a house it must contain a parapet to catch people who slip from the roof.

- You cannot plant more than 2 different seeds in your vineyard. If you do, it and your crops will be defiled and forfeited.

- Ox and Donkeys cannot be yoked alongside each other.

- You cannot wear clothes of wool and linen woven together.

- Stone to death non-virgins, if the man was instead just lying about her virginity, fine him and force the girl to stay married to him forever.

- If a woman is raped in a town and nobody hears her, she cannot claim rape and both she and the accuser will be stoned to death.

- If a close family member or someone you know tries to convert you to other beliefs it is your duty to kill them.

- If your son is rebellious and doesn't listen to their parents, stone him to death in front of the community.

- If a woman defends her husband by hitting the assailant in the groin, cut off her limb that connected.

There are pages upon pages of this stuff. I'd like to see someone adhere to all of God's laws.

Stop going through Leviticus and start posting all these laws that people do not have to follow any more. Do u want to know why we don't follow these laws anymore. it's because Jesus told us that we don't need to follow them to be Christians.

No.

I see no reason why it should be a sin. If too people like each other enough, they should be allowed to have sex. A women reaches here sexual peak when she is in high school, so why shouldn't she be allowed to have sex during this period? There is NOTHING wrong with sex before marriage.

Actually, that's just Deuteronomy. Incidentally, it would have been required for people to kill Jesus during his time but nobody seemed to follow that either.

In any case Jesus did not come to abolish the law but to fulfill them (as he says in the NT). His instructions were all couched on reinterpreting the old laws for the people in his time.

If nobody follows the old laws then why the Christian homophobia? Why are women still considered inferior? That's because Jesus did not refute the old laws or even outdate them. Most of these I stated are stated as the direct words of God, for which no God or messenger of God including Jesus ever repealed. Jesus was no modern humanitarian, he was a primitive 2000 year old one.

If the OT was that irrelevent, why not toss the sucker out? Much better than keeping the entire collection to support murderers and tyrant (not that the NT doesn't do that either).

No problem with any of those. It makes no sense that some people think condoms are immoral and wrong.

Condoms just kind of kill it. That's not exactly how I feel about it, but I heard this really cool point on it. If you're having sex with a person you should be fine with possibly getting pregnant and you should be able to trust them to be clean of STDs. The whole point is that if you're inside of someone, you shouldn't be setting up a barrier between the two of you. Which is a cool perspective on it, but again, not necessarily one I endorse.

How harsh. God was grumpy back then, wasn't he? Man, if you did one little thing wrong, you're dead. These laws may be old and they're not followed anymore. However, it is also written that God does not change. So, should they still be followed?

As for the sex question, well according to the bible, yes it is a sin to have pre-marital sex of any kind. Scriptures have already been quoted on the subject so I won't, but we know them. God is against all fornication and anyone who does fornicate will not inherit God's Kingdom.

Now, what gets me is why God gave us these sexual desires in the first place. You have them at a very young age, an age where you can't even marry, and you have them for many years. God, why are you tempting me??

That's not true. The Bible clearly says that sex before marriage is wrong. And since u say u aren't going to hell u must think your a Christian. and if u think your a Christian then u must believe what the Bible says. I'm not sayiong your going to hell for it but it is definitely a sin.

Depends on what your religious beliefs are but if people did wait until married before having sex "maybe" STD's and aids and unwanted pregnancies and abortions and such wouldn't be so common place. Then again I guess they could just use protection during sex and accompish the same thing.rudyroundhead
that's assuming protection works, even if it does abstinence works better.

Well, teaching abstinence has been proven to work WORSE with a few studies, so advocating it is not really going to help those problems. I mean, it's literally shown to make things worse.

So, in early days, 12 and 13 year olds got married and had kids? That's the way God really wanted it to be, since that's when sexual desires usually begin? I find that hard to believe. Today, the thought of a 13 or even 15 year old getting married is absurd. In most places, it is acceptable to get married at 18 years of age, maybe older. I find that acceptable. If God orginally intended us to get married and have kids at around the age of 13, well I view that as immoral.

That's the 'teaching of abstinance' that has been reported as being less effective than the 'teaching of safe sex.' You're mixing two different things.

Abstinance is always going to be more effective at preventing pregnancies and the spread of STDs than safe sex, even though the 'teaching of abstinance' is a total waste of money.

Well, you said they got married at earlier ages. That would be around the age of 15 to me. But, what I was trying to say was why God made us have these desires at an early age (usually around 13), and he made us physically able to have children at around that age as well. The only reason I would guess is that God orginally meant for people around the ages of 13-15 to get married and have kids. However, I've heard of kids start puberty as early as the age of 10, so it's hard to say. I'm sure God didn't mean for us to have kids THAT early.

whats your definition of a sin?

So, in early days, 12 and 13 year olds got married and had kids? That's the way God really wanted it to be, since that's when sexual desires usually begin? I find that hard to believe. Today, the thought of a 13 or even 15 year old getting married is absurd. In most places, it is acceptable to get married at 18 years of age, maybe older. I find that acceptable. If God orginally intended us to get married and have kids at around the age of 13, well I view that as immoral.

I never said that God wants people to get married at that age.

I'm sure God didn't mean for us to have kids THAT early.

what do you know about what God meant or wanted ? please lets talk only about facts , no assumptions

it depends. if it's in your religion then yes, it's a sin. but if not, lol, then obviously not.

but in any case, sex is supposedly a benefit of the married. if you can just sleep with anyone you wanted at anytime, whats the point of marriage? at least, that's the teaching of the catholic church.

hope that helps.
