I may have been here only for a few days but from what I have noticed I do not like your threads and other users do not like your threads either so making them a blog instead would be better.

It's not the amount of replies but the quality of the replies, most of the replies are trying to convince you not to make anymore threads.

[QUOTE="SolidSnake35"] Both are examples of restrictions on free speech. In both instances, you CAN say those things but have to deal with consequences. I'm not seeing how the US offers unchecked free speech here, like someone suggested earlier.SolidSnake35

There are only consequences when it involves assault.

Edit: Or treason but that should go without saying.

So there are restrictions...

I never said there were not restrictions.

I have been here for 8 years, and I think hes correct, you didnt even have a point in your opening post, you were just touting patriotic crap. "we definitely are. No other country dictates what goes on around the world more than the US. Everyone knows who our leader is, but we could care less about who runs other countries. Why is this?" You just added "why is this?" at the end so it wasn't closed by mods, and to be completely frank, come back with this topic when Americans enjoy the highest standards of living in the world, until then enjoy getting repeatadly raped by the rich and the corporations with your corrupt political system.

Despite popular belief, this is false. Most of the US debt is owed to American investors.

I don't really think so. I'd call places like New York, London, Hong Kong and Tokyo as the centre's of the world. The mass, sprawling, centres of industry, finance, art and culture. Not a country as a whole. New York City, LA, Chicago and politically Washington DC are incredibly important world centres to the world but I wouldn't consider the entire country to be. That being said the US does have an essential position in the world. As do other economically powerful and rich nations.

but id add berlin who have more influence over europe, especially economically than people might think, shanghai and mumbai wouldnt look out of place on that list either

it would be interesting at the moment if the USA or china pulled the plug which one would have more of an impact on europe

Not only is the US the center of the world but we have the best country in the history of the world. We are by far not perfect but much better then most of the world.

What was the last world changing thing that we invented that spread knowledge throughout the world like never before...oh, that's right---the internet and the first personal computer. That's to name a couple. Yeah, but the US sucks amirite?

Before you bash the US ask yourself what the last major thing was that your country did even in the ballpark of inventions like the internet, pc or even the automobile, airplanes, light bulbs, cable tv, supersonic flight, radio carbon dating, the atomic clock, gps and so on.

Michigan FTW. I get all the canadian channels, too. But that's probably because people in southern ontario and michigan probably resemble each other more than those of their own countries.

I would argue that the US Hollywood/entertainment industry is one of the centers of the world.. So much so that countries like India have been trying to mimic it with years with Bhollywood.

Bearing in mind most of North America is the US then i think its safe to say it pretty much is no?
