[QUOTE="Redneck33"]EMOTIONALLY MATURE! Physically, a person fully matures by about 18 (give or take), but emotionally is a way different story.

And no, I have never seriously felt like hitting someone. And I DEFINITELY never felt like shooting someone. That is what I am talking about though. I teenager is much more likely to let their emotions take over than a 30 year old teacher.

XanderKage

I meant EMOTIONALLY MATURE, so no need tom RASE YOUR VOICE. And it's bull$hit. I met planty of teenager who would give some adults a lesson at being mature. And I really don't belive you never felt like hitting someone.

I was simply typing in caps to stress the emotionally mature part, I wasnt raising my "virtual voice". Sure, I know a few teenagers who are way more mature than adults, but they are in the minority. In general, adults are more mature than teenagers, and when dealing with an issue like this, statistics are very important.

I do not see why anyone would want to hit someone. It is not like a slap to the face is really going to change someone for the better. Besides, that is irrelevant.

[QUOTE="Redneck33"]It is not about decreasing the amount of school shootings. That is impossible. They are just trying to decrease the amount of deaths that are caused. If Virginia had this law a few years ago, then maybe instead of having a few dozen students dead, there would have maybe only been 2 or 3. XanderKage

Let me guess, you're an american. And when it's hard to try and decrease the number of shootings, you just want to give guns to everyone. Highly logical.

There is no reason to turn a classroom into a interrogation room. That doesn't promote an environment for a child to learn. That promotes an environment of fear.

The teacher doesn't need a gun. I don't trust teachers enough especially considering how some schools hire them without certification. Does anyone have any statistics on how often school shootings occur?

If they are cerfied by the state to carry a gun I don't see why they can't carry a gun at school when almost every other place they can, and its been proven to stop deaths weither the anti-gun media wants you to know that. I don't see the big deal, there state certified and most kids won't even notice/care or even know about it so so much for an interrogation room

+ Could easily put a stop to school shootings before things get bad. - Teachers could lose it just as easily as anyone else. - Kids may find the guns.

That is insane. If you want the teachers to be safe, have summer self defense classes. There are many ways to defend yourself effectively without a gun. Further proof that Texas is insane as a state....hillelslovak

Huh? The first shooting at the dorm killed 2, no teachers there. The second shooting first started in a classroom where the shooter shot and killed the teacher first, and then 9 students. What good would a gun, in the hands of a teacher, have been there?

To give you even more to laugh at, I actually think president bush has been a fairly good president these last few years. He just got stuck in a bad situation. And just a question. Have you ever even been to Texas? Almost everybody here is nice, and you feel safe BECAUSE everybody has a gun. I'll let the Bush part slide. Too easy. But when you need to own a gun to feel safe is really sad. And when you feel safe when everyone around you have a gun is even more sad. BTW, no offence, I hope it doen't really happen, but if you get stabbed while carrying a gun, and I somehow find out about it, I'll laugh my a$$ off. Again, no offence, I honestly hope you will live a long and happy life.

I live there and it has to be one of the best places to live. The people are so friendly/nice, the taxes are low, there are a TON of jobs, some of the best school districts in the nation, and housing is so cheap (4/2/2 won't run you past $150k in a good neighborhood)

I actually do not own a gun, but I still feel incredibly safe because I know there is someone that does have a gun somewhere near me at all times. Besides, most murders are committed with illegally purchased guns anyways, so you do not have to worry about John Doe down the street with a shotgun and a hunting rifle.

Im a fairly nice person, but when your trying to deal with gun control by handing out guns to teachers your not the solution your the problem. Then to also pull the Damn right Im an American card and show support for this your giving support to the wrong cause and giving the notion that all of America is nothing but a gun loving red neck country. There are other ways to deal with a problem like this and making it easier for kids to access guns and to hand them out to teachers(when we dont know how unstable they are) is not the right move. And your not the only friendly state in the world so dont pull that act on me!

To be honest most teachers are liberal/anti-gun so this whole thing isn't a big deal at all since theres no way I could see a highschool having more than a handful of people with them. Also areas with guns have different laws so with the guns there most likely going to have to have the gun secure on them with a strap and isn't visible like your susupose to do in a car in most states.

Damn right I am an American, and proud of it! And I would recommend you actually read the post you qouted before responding, But it seems like you were just looking for an opportunity to take a stab at Americans anyways.

Redneck33

your name and this thread gives the world a good reason to point and laugh. Leave it to Texas to come up with such a retarded idea(then again look where the president comes from)

To give you even more to laugh at, I actually think president bush has been a fairly good president these last few years. He just got stuck in a bad situation. And just a question. Have you ever even been to Texas? Almost everybody here is nice, and you feel safe BECAUSE everybody has a gun. We may be "retarded", but atleast we are friendly which is obviously more than I can say about you.

But I like that stereotype :(. The second the British stop calling us gun-touting rednecks is the day my heart will break.

Secondly, did I say that we are the only friendly state? Were not, but we certainly are one of them.

Thirdly, how do yu know that this is not the solution. It has yet to even been implemented. Only time will tell if this is the solution or not.

1. stop encouraging the image of an idiot america(a redneck is not a good thing)

2.Im proving the point that a)your not the only state, and b)you dont need guns to be safe and friendly...in fact Id be more affraid

3. its common sense putting guns where children can easly access them is not the brightest idea anyone has come up with. LESS guns would be a smarter move its like someone elese said, try killing 30 people with a knife.

No. There's no need to. Classrooms aren't that dangerous, that I know.

Lemme give you a senerio, Little jimmy gets pissed off at the teacher and is sent to the office. Jimmy doesnt like this idea and gets mad, Jimmy realizes he can get back at the teacher by attacking him, he also remembers the teacher has a pistole hidden away in one of the drawers in the class. So Jimmy waited until lunch when the teachers left the room and oh know jimmys teacher left the door unlocked! later after lunch when the teacher got back he realises his gun is missing, and who has it? Jimmy does! Now guess who just walked into the classroom...at the end of the day either the teacher or the student OR BOTH will end up hurt!

1. Why is being known as an idiot redneck a bad thing :?. Most intelligent people know that this is just a false stereotype anyways. Plus I find that the dumbest people tend to also be the friendliest people. I dont know about you, but I prefer friendly.

2. I never said I was the only state, I was simply defending Texas from all of the bashers. Also I feel that you do need guns to feel safe. Humans are always going to have the urge to murder, so we need to defend ourselves against the few psychos out there.

3. I feel that this law should ONLY apply to middle and high schools. Plus, most of these guns that are killing arent legally bought anyways, so legal guns are not much of a problem.

This Jimmy you speak of sounds very emotionally unstable. Perhaps he would benefit from some therapy?

Yeah I love worse case senarios  and you forgot that theres AREA LAWS. Do you think the system is really that bad ? For example in lots of states if you have a gun in a dashboard you get a ticket..... Try guess why and try to guess what there trying to prevent ? Same principle which is why its not that big of a deal and makes your story pointless
