I mean the Fetus never even got to laugh, eat, play and be love and people just threat there child like its food on the fridge that they dont want and get rid of it.

why not just get it adopted some people would be more happy to take care of it. its better if someone live its life with someone else who want it rather than being killed by someone who doesnt want it before it even got the chance.

That isn't always an option. Sometimes it is medically necessitated because the mother's life is at risk.

I'm not sure a child would be so happy with parents that don't even want it. Also when men ejaculate they are killing countless potential children. But here's the thing, they aren't babies yet, same as an aborted fetus or embryo. They aren't babies or people. They are cells.

A think a fetus is substantially more than "cells." Embryos, not so much. It'd be a bit of an internal contradiction on my part, in any case, as I'm pro-stem cell research.

Also, concerning this whole debate, is there any right for others to say whether abortion is ok or not when it's another person's problem?

I'm sure those twins wouldn't be so happy if they were living in a dingy apartment in the worst neighborhood in town, probably only having one parent with low income, and probably having a crap life in general. Especially if the parent(s) resented it. Why can't they put their child up for adoption? dozens of reasons. You've never carried a child and had to make that decision, so don't judge people. There's a lot of mothers who would rather abort a fetus rather than give up a child to who knows who. I understand that it sounds a bit stupid to say "abortion is better than having the chance that its' adoptive parents/foster parents will mistreat it or teach it things I'd never approve of" but again, you've never been in their situation, so you're not in any place to judge.

gugler990

Because adoption isn't a magical fairy tale solve all solution. It costs money to house these unwanted kids and feed them and adoption centers already have trouble with the current amount. If all abortion stopped today, there would be an extra 1.4 million children born. Who is going to pay for them and their food at these centers? Theres not enough willing parents to adopt right now to cover the current amount let alone another 1.4 million. This seems to be ignored by pro-lifers. What do we do with these kids? Raising them in a center is not free. Are you just going to say "Well....not my problem once they're born!"

And then theres the obvious case of rape, in which a woman should not be forced to have a child she didn't choose.

That statement always irks me. You don't have to have been in a similar situation to judge someone.

You don't, but you should at least take a moment to put yourself in their position and think maybe their mindset isn't the same as yours, because you're just a guy sitting at your computer and they're a person who likely cannot provide for a child for the next 18 years, and having the child and keeping it would reduce quality of life for both of them. Giving it away isn't like giving away a box of your old crap, it's a lot more than that, which is why people have a difficult time with it, even if the child may have lived a good life with adoptive parents. Like I said, the idea that killing something is a better choice than to give it up is skewed, but if you've never felt the same way as they have to feel at that point in time, you'll never understand why a person may choose that path. People will judge one way or another, but it's unfortunate that people don't ever stop to consider the fact that they aren't in the same situation so their mindset is likely far from that of a person who is.

I'm getting increasingly irritated at pro-lifers who suggest that I support abortion; what I support is choice. Supporting abortion suggests that it were to be mandatory. I don't get any amount of joy when a fetus is aborted, and I highly doubt that any potential mother would.

Because it's not your body, and you have absolutely NO authority to force a woman to undergo such an excruciatingly painful, potentially deadly experience as labors, sure as hell note on the grounds that "baby tweens are so cute  ".

What you're doing here is called an emotional distortion, and it's a logical fallacy.

That isn't always an option. Sometimes it is medically necessitated because the mother's life is at risk.

PannicAtack

Unfortunately for most unborn children, that only represents a fractional portion of all abortions done, which of course are mostly done because "oops, I didn't think before having sex that I might get pregnant."

This is kind of a happy puppies thread. On a nice day it seems like it will never rain. Ok, and? People like to tell others that they shouldn't do things when chances are they have never experienced that situation themselves, and at the very least they have no clue what the individual circumstances were that drove that person to make that decision (which they may have agonized over) that they don't agree with. Considering that any doctor willing to perform late term abortions in the USA (even in cases of medical emergency) has to fear for his life, I feel like the flowery baby talk is getting a little offensive to listen to. My question for people who have no tolerance for abortion under any circumstances is if that person's wife or sister was raped and a child resulted would they be welcoming that child in to the family with open arms? How many child of rape gogogaga youtube videos do you think we can expect?

There's a huge problem with the abortion argument. It's wholly subjective. It's your opinion on when something is considered a "full" human being rather than an arrangement of cells.

I hate people that oppose abortion. What your saying is that if a girl were to get raped, she can't decide to abort it? Thats when we get people getting them done with rusty hangars and dying. What if it were your daughter that got raped? Would you still be pro-life? The decision should be the mothers..Or what if there was a miscarrage and the doctors told you that your daughter would die if she didn't get an abortion? This situations happen more than you think.

gugler990

so you think people are parasites?

1.an organism that lives on or in an organism of another species, known as the host, from the body of which it obtains nutriment.

The only part of the definition that a fetus does not fit is being a different species. It fits everything else.

It is an organism that lives in the body of a human being (against it's will in these cases of wanting abortion) and receives nutrients from the host. It also can impair host functions much like a parasite.

Are humans parasites? Not in the traditional sense, no, though some can fit the second definition. Are fetuses? Unwanted ones I feel are.

I can call a lot of thing "parasite" by using your logic.

Go ahead. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck....

So is an unwanted baby a parasite?

1.an organism that lives on or in an organism of another species, known as the host, from the body of which it obtains nutriment.

The only part of the definition that a fetus does not fit is being a different species. It fits everything else.

It is an organism that lives in the body of a human being (against it's will in these cases of wanting abortion) and receives nutrients from the host. It also can impair host functions much like a parasite.

Are humans parasites? Not in the traditional sense, no, though some can fit the second definition. Are fetuses? Unwanted ones I feel are.

Are you kidding me? There are lots of unwanted things in my life, and you don't see me finding a way to get rid of them by un-ethical means.

I'm going to play devils advocate for a moment. What if you approve of abortion because it keeps the world's population down?

You kidding me? North Americans are having, like, 1.6 kids per family. =\

Decides the way you look at it. Parasites usually feed off the host(Mom) until it drains it out and moves on to a new host (internet).
No, seriously, that's a heartless thing to say. =\
An unwanted fetus fits almost all criteria for a parasite. It might offend one, but it's there.
