The GF and I just started season 3 last night. Sh!ts the best television I've seen in a good goddamn time. I'm trying to convince the GF to let me shave my head and sport the Heisenberg look (I've already got the goat and glasses).Zeviander

Season 3 is the best season of all IMO.....well thanks to Episode 10 ("Salud") of Season 4, the 3rd and 4th seasons are close to a tie for me.

Not really reading the thread because of spoilers, but I just recently subscribed to Netflix and I marathoned the first season in two days. This is an awesome show and addicting to watch. All four seasons are up there so I figure I'll have them all watched within a few weeks, but then would I be able to find the episodes from season 5 that I missed somewhere or would I have to wait a few months?
I think his comment works in two ways. On the surface, he seems to be talking about Mike. But it's also sort of a threat against Jesse. Walt seemed pretty annoyed when Jesse tried to defuse the situation by offering his share of the money. It wasn't just that Walt didn't want his share getting cut. He objected to the other guys getting the money at all. When Jesse offered to have the money come out of his share, then that took away from Walt's ability to assert authority over Mike. Mike sort of ends up winning out in the dispute, and Walt doesn't appreciate that at all. There's also sort of an implied threat against Jesse. The message is, "it wasn't your place to come between us like that, don't do it again."
I'm guessing the guys rob a train in episode 5. Jesse James reference. Their source of the precursor apparently falls through, judging by next week's episode preview. Plus Walt says the train stops for nothing.

I'm sure they did something about it
So far walt isn't evil, just extremely selfish ie. when Hank and Jesse are talking to him sincerely (about having someone to talk to about their problems, Jesse's girlfriend) Walt only talks about whatever is in HIS best interest (derailing hank, encouraging jesse to get rid of Andrea so Jesse may never find out about the lilly of the valley)
Gus = Boss. Victor = Assistant. Victor tries to do more than he's supposed to, so Gus kills him. In Walt's eyes, Walt = Boss and Mike = Assistant. Mike is trying to do more than he's supposed to with the money, so Walt is considering killing him.

Rian Johnson (director of Brick and Looper) directed this week's episode. He directed The Fly. Supposedly this episode is "the opposite" of The Fly.

I found a better one for "I am the one who knocks" SKYLER: Jr., you are up past your bedtime. You've done this every day of the week, and if you keep this up you are in trouble, young man. Do you want me to have to lock you in your room with no breakfast all week or are you going to start behaving? WALT JR.: Wh-who are you talking to right now? Cl-clearly you have no idea, so let me clue you in. I'm not in trouble, mom... I AM THE TROUBLE. A kid gets locked in his room, and you think that of me? N-no... I AM THE ONE WHO LOCKS.

Which means the next episode takes place one year after the pilot, and one year before the cold opening for "Live Free or Die."

I'm thinking character wise the way they interact will be a polar opposite. I doubt it'll be a bottle episode, so I suspect action is still in the cards.

So let me get this straight. In one year (if the next episode is correct) , Jesse has:

- Got the **** kicked out of him 3 times.

- Became homeless.

- Lost a loved one.

- Unloved by his parents.

- Almost got killed a total of 5 times.

- Did Crystal Meth/Heroin.

- Almost got a kid killed.

- Indirectly caused a plane crash.

- Partnered with a now meth-dealing murderer.

- And killed 2 men, 1 innocent.

Any other person would be in a psychiatric hospital by now.

Yeah... Jesse has gone through a LOT in a very short period of time. I mean, so has Walt, but they are very different people who react to all of this in very different ways. Walt really thrives on all of this now, whereas Jesse doesn't.

Jesse isn't perfect, but I really do feel for him. As interesting as it is to watch Walt's metamorphosis, it's equally interesting (to me) to watch how Jesse has changed. I wouldn't be surprised if he has PTSD.

Speaking of which, its interesting to see how Jesse (numerous times) really doesn't care about the money. It seems to me that at this point Jesse is more mature than he was in the beginning of the show, and the only reason he seems to continue to cook meth is that he feels loyal to Walt.

You know what's cool? Just the other day, I went back and watched the pilot episode. You know, the episode where Walt gets cancer, where he basically FORCES Jesse to cook for him, because realistically f*** that guy. How much has Walt REALLY changed, and how much of that was there all the time?

Even in the very first episode, he's basically doing the same thing. He only agrees to cook with Walt because Walt says "cook with me or I turn you in." Jesse then asks with serious concern, "Why are you doing this? it's just weird. All of a sudden, you decide to break bad? It just doesn't make sense. Look, if you've gone insane or you're depressed, I need to know this." And then Walt lies his ass off. Even in the beginning, Jesse DIDN'T care about the money. He didn't partner up with Walter White in order to make money. In his mind, he didn't need to since he thought that his chile powder meth was the bomb, yo.He only partnered up with Walter White in the the first place because Walt needed someone who knew the business, and was going to turn Jesse in if he didn't agree to work with him. Recently with Mike saying that walt is a ticking time bomb and that he's sorry that Jesse doesn't see that? Well that's been the case for the ENTIRE duration of the show. All Walt has EVER done is **** up Jesse's life even more, and that's been going on for the entire duration of the series. I'm not saying that neither character CHANGED, but some basic traits have been constant. Walt needs someone to lead, and Jesse needs someone to follow. Those have been the constants, even when doing so went beyond rational logic. And it's really been that way since thevery beginning. That hasn't changed.

Or like he said in Season 3, it' the only thing he's good at. Doesn't help counter that thought when you have a partner pratically exclaiming to you how stupid and useless you are.

And I love how Jesse doesn't want innocent people to get hurt (kids , people, drug dealers), which is COMPLETELY contradictory to Walt's views. That's probrably why Jesse was shocked at the end of Sunday's episode. He never expected Mr.White to contemplate killing Mike, or even Jesse himself, for adding a valid point.

Yeah Jesse is a good kid.

But what I want to see in a future episode is Jesse in Mr. White's classroom (back when he taught Jesse) That would be pretty cool to see. It WOULD be kind of hard to imagine my mild mannered teacher, over a decade after I left his classroom, forcing me to cook meth with him and watch him killing people in front of my eyes ( in half measures and face off, when Walt killed those two dealers and the two men in the lab, Jesse definitely seemed stunned)

It would be a good way to show how much Walt and Jesse's relationship has changed.
