Just listened to it about 5 times on headphones. There's definitely a gun-cocking type sound there; it's pretty hard to tell if that's exactly what it is though. JML897
I actually re-watched with the captions on. It says: [Ticking Loudly; Clicks] It doesn't say what type of click it was, but I'm in the camp that it sounds like a gun cocking.
what if it's the timer of a bomb?

It's a gun/bomb/whatever. That's not important unless you're into the whole guessing game about exactly what's going to happen. The point is that it's symbolizing that the clock is ticking, and is counting down to destruction. The wheels are in motion, and things are going to turn very bad very soon.
I also think that season 4's opening, with Walt having a new identity and buying some heavy weaponry, is going to be solidly set in place by the end of the 2012 episodes. I don't think that's flashforwarding to the end of the series, it's just flashforwarding to the end of the 2012 episodes. I'm pretty sure that next year's half-season will START there. The closest comparison to that is the teddy bear in season 2. And just like in season 2, they're not going to make everyone wait an entire year before finding out what those scenes were about. We'll know what's up by the end of the 8 2012 episodes. I could be wrong, but that's my prediction. The beginning of the season indicates things going VERY badly, and I think we'll know what the deal is within the next 4 episodes. It may seem like that's a lot of ground to cover in only 4 episodes. The thing is...we don't exactly know what happens, so we don't know what kind of ground needs to be covered in order to get Walt to that point. And also, this series has repeatedly covered a LOT of ground in only a very few episodes. As much time as is devoted to character development and talking, the characters have repeatedly found themselves in horribly doomed scenarios when only two episodes previously they thought everything was going swell. Again, the wheels are in motion, the clock is ticking, and I think that the second half of this mini-season is going to end with a bang.
Yeah I had the same thoughts when I heard it.

Have there been any other sounds or even visual cues used to symbolise things to come in previous Breaking Bad episodes ?

This is a pretty cool article worth reading that talks about neat allusions the show has made, foreshadowing, references you might not have picked up on, etc. My favorite is the video that foreshadows
Gus dying
JML897

They said they were turning Walt into a bad guy and so far he is except for the fact that his family and love ones (except Skyler) still think he is a great guy. I'd say most of the audience is still on Walt's side still and I think it would take killing or severely injuring a close person to change their opinion of him. I know I still like Walt.

There definitely was a gun cocking like sound at the end. Though not a literal gun being cocked in the house. Could just sound like a gun cock coincidentally , or could be intentional foreshadowing or whatever.

Isn't that part of what makes him evil? Yeah, Hank/Marie/WaltJr still like Walt, but the reason they still like Walt is because he has been manipulating them. He's been the one dealing drugs, killing people, and putting his family in danger. Skyler clearly is not an angel either, but Walt has it appearing like she's a crazy person who is totally to blame for their marriage falling apart.

New theory
Walt uses ricin cigarette to kill Holly (The baby), Skylar thinks she did it, commits suicide, getting rid of the Skylar problem and proving the "Pink clothing = death" theory.
Yea, but in the end it is Walt succeeding, which is why I watch. I want him to win no matter what (almost) and it would take a lot for me not to like him. You can't hate on a guy with cancer. :P

When Walt allowed Jesse's girlfriend to die, just so he could continue to cook (despite the fact that he was a millionaire at that point with no obligation to Gus as of yet), I became against him. Obviously he's a better person then Gus or Tuco, but at that point he became the antagonist for me.

Its still great watching him and the show and he's a great character, but I can't be on his side after that, I definitely love the directions they've taken with Jesse in humanizing him, hopefully if and when Walt gets screwed over Jesse doesn't suffer for it.

He let her die to get Jesse to stop using drugs. It technically wasn't the "right" thing to do but it looked pretty certain that both of them would've OD'd if they just went their own way with all that money.

After 2 weeks of marathoning, I've finally caught up to the current episode (and this season is great so far), but one thing is sort of bugging (;)) me.

In the season 3 episode "Fly"...
Walt obsesses over a single fly in the lab contaminating the batch, so why in this season does he think it is a good idea to cook in bug infested homes? I went through those episodes pretty fast, but maybe in "Fly" Walt obsessed so much over the fly just because was in a very fragile mental state with stress and fear of Gus.

I don't know...if the Scarface scene is foreshadowing, I think it's a little too obvious. I think it's a bit too obvious to have Walter end up like Tony Montana. I prefer to just think of it as being a bit more direct to the present situation. Skylar sees Walt and Walt Jr watching it, it scares the $*** out of her, and that's that. At least...I hope that's all there is to it. Anyway, I love that scene regardless. It was just absolutely chilling, and funny as hell at the exact same time. It served its purpose.
Exactly. I honestly don't know how you could continue watching the show if you hated Walt THAT early on. That's like 19 episodes in, if I hated Walt at that point I would have just stopped watching it. How did you feel when Walt said "I won" or many of his other famous lines? I don't see how anyone could have hated Walt until the end of Season 4. Personally Walt is awesome, and even now I don't really hate him, I think it's sad to see my favorite TV character turning evil like this. He's threatened Jesse, Mike, and Skyler. It's just that he hasn't exactly done anything truly awful to them since season 4 (but I'm very sure he will soon)

I hated Walt pretty much from when he let Jane die, and Breaking Bad is my favourite show ever regardless. I don't see why you think that the protagonist must be likeable in order for the show to be enjoyable.

I agree. There are a lot of other characters in this show that are actually likable and worth rooting for. Jesse and Hank come to mind though I still love Walt. The more evil he gets the more I love him. Nuff said.

Also, don't forget that she killed herself, Walt did not kill her. If she didn't want to die she shouldn't have been doing heroin. She also got Jesse into doing it, so she could have been responsible for his death if he overdosed. They were probably going to keep doing drugs, so they both probably would have died eventually. Jane's death helped Jesse get off drugs, and she threatened to rat out Walt even after he gave her the money. Walt wasn't that bad back then, but since the end of season 4/start of season 5 he's been pretty ruthless. In the end, I'll root for Jesse. He's matured a lot since the series started and his morals are actually pretty good, besides the fact that he makes meth.

He patted her on the back, thus moving her from the position on her side to on her back. She was propped up with a blanket, so she wouldn't choke on her vomit.
And I was so hoping that guy would survive and Walt wouldn't screw him over on top of that train.

What a change of events...
Also, don't forget that she killed herself, Walt did not kill her. If she didn't want to die she shouldn't have been doing heroin.

But it was his fault. If he had never gone in Jesse's room that night, she wouldn't have choked on her vomit.

Could you explain please? Why wouldn't she have choked if he didn't go in his room?

his pushing of jesse made her fall onto her back.
Yeah, I was totally expecting Todd to be dead by the end of the episode. He's in deep enough now.

The way I had it planned out was that he would fall off of the top of the train because Walt waited too long, get severely injured, and then say "fvck Walt" and talk to the police
I was thinking too obvious I guess.

That was one of the best episodes of this whole show, in my opinion. I'm not someone who often gets really involved during television or even movie scenes, but I was on the edge of my seat for the train robbery, cheering triumphantly when they managed to pull it off, and sitting in shock once Todd shot the kid. I totally thought that when Todd was waving to the kid, it means that it was his younger brother, or had some sort of relation to him. This would have made it a dilemma for Team Heisenberg, as Walt would want to kill the witness despite him being related to Todd. I'm glad it went like this instead.

I actually thought Walt would do the shooting.
