I've finally figured out the 3 bands that completely killed rock/sub genres

The Cure - Responsible for the emo silliness

Slayer/Cannibal Corpse - Now I like a few metal bands like Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, Pantera, Judas Priest and Motorhead but those are worlds apart from every other band classified as metal. These 2 came along with the horrible screamo growl and have created a disturbing genre of music.

wait, screamo growl? last time i checked the horrible screamo growl was this and slayer were this

note the differences. and anyway slayer were one of the more influential metal bands out there, alot of metal bands taken ideas from what they played.

:lol: lulz. Slayer is Thrash (just like Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, and Pantera), and Cannibal Corpse weren't the first Death Metal band, you can thank Death, Posessed, and Morbid Angel for that :)

Haha. Emo originated from hardcore punk, and Cannibal Corpse is a boy band compared to their contemporaries.

Rock isn't dead. People just stopped listening to it.

It may sound like they are just hitting things, but they're still playing harmony, melody, rhythm etc. A lot of other bands are just concerned with playing the right notes and not actually how they are playing it. CC use performance technique in such away to better convey aggression and frustration. You don't do that by lightly strumming major chords for 10 minutes.

Keep in mind I loath CC, but mostly because they bore me to tears.

i haven't liked a band that has come out in the last 15 years so no, i don't like every band with a vocalist and predictable songwriting....however, when decided whether a band is good, i usually want them to meet these requirements:

1) every member knows how to play their instrument

2) good lyrics

3) not sell-outs

4) not random

5) talented (except for STP....i like them even without the talent...)

i haven't liked a band that has come out in the last 15 years so no, i don't like every band with a vocalist and predictable songwriting....however, when decided whether a band is good, i usually want them to meet these requirements:
