[QUOTE="Dark_Knight6"]I thought it was pretty good. It just wasn't as good as everyone made it out too be. But, to be honest, I'd watch anything with Ellen Page in it. My god, she's hot. :PHeroldp813
What? she looks like a young boy
Now thats just silly. Its one thing to not enjoy the humour of the film but please don't make juvenile statements like that.[QUOTE="Heroldp813"][QUOTE="Dark_Knight6"]I thought it was pretty good. I fail to see how she looks like a young boy.:| Regardless, I find her to be incredibly attractive.
i thought it was a ridiculously dumb movie...over rated garbageblazinpuertorocActually its quite a smart film given its wit and humour and also because its a movie about finding out about who you are.
It was OK but the script just tried way too damn hard to be trendy. All the dialogue was just crap, no one speaks like that in real life- it was just trendy crap.MemberinoUm how does the dialogue attempt to be in accordance with a particular trend? The dialogue is original and witty. It has nothing to do with being trendy at all. You only dislike the film because its insanely popular. Dialogue in movies is never meant to be like speech in real life.

Please stop trying to make this movie seem deeper then it really is. All it is is stupid jokes with a garbage storyline. This is funny? :"I hear they, they [China] give away babies like free iPods ... you know they pretty much just put them in those t-shirt guns, choo, shoot them out at sporting events ..."

But I mean I thought the story was dumb and unrealistic. Her parents calm about her pregnancy, her father even cracks a joke about the situation. Yeah like who in their right mind is that calm about their child having teenage pregnancy. Also the awkward situations between juno and the adoptive father were friggen awkward and stupid. I mean the guy eventually started coming onto her and seemed so unnecessary and creepy. Also they never explain why the adoptive mother couldnt have a kid. Yeah sure there are multiple reasons why but the fact we never get a definite answer is annoying. Also juno herself was one annoying broad...

Mate I don't have to make it sound deeper than it is because I know its a deep film. All of the characters in the film undergo a change in their lives and have to reevaluate who they are because of this girls pregnancy.
You can't just take a line like that completely out of context or without the comic timing of an actor and expect it to have the same effect.
Why don't you tell me some films that you think are decent then?

My all time favorite movie in the world is "Old School"
Um its fitting with the films humorous and almost satirical tone. Why would there be this highly dramatic scene in a comedy? Also its far more 'original' to have a parent react in that way then you would normally expect to yelling and shouting etc - how cliche that would have been.

Um no he did not start coming onto her. That is incorrect. They had a non sexual relationship. Certainly the film could have strayed into dark territory. But it didn't. They were just friends.
Also they never explain why the adoptive mother couldnt have a kid. Yeah sure there are multiple reasons why but the fact we never get a definite answer is annoying.

Wasn't necessary to know.
Also juno herself was one annoying broad...blazinpuertoroc
No she wasn't. She was very witty and an original character. Ellen Page has great comic timing. Becareful using terms like Broad. Some girls don't like it ;)

Wow. Just wow. You sir should be very proud of yourself. You exhibit amazing taste for both film and comedy in general.[QUOTE="Heroldp813"][QUOTE="biggest_loser"]

Wow. Just wow. You sir should be very proud of yourself. You exhibit amazing taste for both film and comedy in general.Old School is made for just a good time. I can't rag on it. It makes me laugh it served its purpose. The point of that film wasn't to get recognized by the oscars or critics.

in my opinion she was an annoying broad, also yeah he totally did come onto her. I seen the movie a while back but I remeber juno flipping out and the guy saying oh blah blah why did you always come over here I thought you had something for me and he was dissapointed to find out she didnt.I wasted 96 minutes of my life watching an absolutely horrid film
Heroldp813
Without reading any of the other posts I just thought I'd point out that if Juno was really one of the worst movies you've ever seen then you haven't seen very many movies. Even subjectively speaking I don't see how this could be possible for anyone with cable who has stayed up past 10:00pm.
Pretty much the Moral of the story is dont watch Juno.......Watch "The Girl Next Door"raider1648
God I'm a sucker for that movie. Wasn't a hit with the critics at all though :(
God, I hated the movie, too. It wasn't real at all. It's definitely one of the most overrated films out there.dreDREb13Was it meant to be real?

yeah lol I got that from a video a guy gave a link to on the first page...It says"you should hang out with this guy" and it ives a link...IT IS HILARIOUS
Everyone seems to praise the fact that it gets to teens and tells them the story of teen pregnancy.
All it really told me is that if I get a girl knocked up, her parents won't be mad, we'll still be able to see each other without ramifications, and everything will be all right. The acting was good, yeah; but the dialogue was one of the worst I've seen in movies. I tried to like it, but I just couldn't.
dreDREb13
Well no its much more than a girl getting "knocked up." Its about a girl having to come to terms with responsibility and how her actions affect the lives of people around her, like the adoptive parents.
They discover that they aren't ready to have a child and deal with the responsibilities and issues that are derived from having a child - like if you your child were to get pregnant for example!!
Even Junos parents undergo a change in having to nurture their child through this situation. For example her dad says to her "the best thing you can do is to find someone who loves you for exactly who you are.."
I'm not really doing justice to its subtext but it is there. I don't understand what you didn't like about the dialogue. Its a very quotable film and some of it is very very funny. It won the Oscar for Best Screenplay.
You are obviously as dry as unbuttered toast and have no sense of humor WHATSOEVER. Easily in my top 10 favorite movies.I wasted 96 minutes of my life watching an absolutely horrid film
Heroldp813
How the hell did this become a popular movie? Seriously who likes this crap?Heroldp813I loved the movie? WTH is up with you guys? Do you guys never hang out with sarcastic people or what? Geez...
