[QUOTE="Oleg_Huzwog"][QUOTE="Jandurin"] no, i don't think so and i'd be surprised if the law looks at it that way i imagine they fine youJandurin
But fine you for what? Some petty theft charge? Trespassing?
http://www.observer.com/2011/07/why-swipe-when-its-cheaper-to-hop/ i couldn't find out what it's called, but it's not stealingI just found this on google:
Crime Classifications on some Australian police site.
Under "Other Theft" it includes fare evasion. So I guess in at least some parts of the world, hopping a turnstile would be stealing.

And apparently there's at least one state (Florida) that says "transit fare evasion blah blah shall constitute petit theft blah blah".

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA You are a silly person!! Think of it like a friend inviting you over to watch a movie or listen to an album!![QUOTE="ToppledPillars"][QUOTE="-DirtySanchez-"] you still took it, physically or not you still took something that isnt yours, you f*cking dipsh*t. my god are people really this stupid?Ilovegames1992
No, its more like they burned you a copy of that movie and gave it to you.... and thousands of other people....
If we use this logic what you're essentially saying is that it's okay to steal a TV, as long as it's not a flatscreen. You're making the argument that sharing on a large scale is stealing, but sharing on a small scale is not. The part about burning it makes no difference, I could lend a physical CD to twenty friends or make twenty copies and give them to twenty friends and it would have the same effect. Back to the main point, either sharing is stealing or it's not. You can't say some sharing is stealing and some isn't anymore than you can say some robbery is stealing and some isn't, it either is or it isn't.

What? No i think the exact opposite.... It's obviously stealing. Its getting something for free you should be paying for. I'd class that as stealing, but whatever it doesnt really harm anyone.

Then filesharing is no different than sharing a movie with your friends.
Closing down such a major site, not cool, that has to cause some really inconvenience. It just feels wrong, it's like removing a major city of the "internet-country". Brutal.
Another semantics debate, like all other discussions on the net about this news - jeez. Surprisingly, this thing went down during wars on sopa and pipa. Coincidence?
Fbi won this time since the hosters are involved in money laundring and deliberately allowing illegal contents, not to mention hosting the servers on US. This next round is the court, so MU might be waiting for a rebirth. Hell the files there is still DL if you got the links.. MU is a great site, no virus or etc, it's sufficient imo but greatest mistake - servers in the us of a.

Yes, your friends.... and thousands of other people.
Servers were in the United States you dumbass. What does this have to do with the world? Cause you could establish a connection to servers in virginia? That's it, I'm going to learn how to hack those motherf*ckers. I hate the USA, they think they're the owners of the world.

Oh for the love of crap, that sucks.
...then again, that place only let me watch about 72 minutes at a time.
I've said it before, and I guess I'll say it again, louder and clearer: F%CK YOU, SOPA AND PIPA. F%CK YOU, PEOPLE WHO BROUGHT MEGA(site) TO ITS KNEES. F%CK YOU, ALL WHO SUPPORT ALL OF THIS BULLSH1T. F%CK YOU. F%CK YOU ALL.tjoeb123
Could not have put it better myself.
I don't see how anyone can actually blame the government? I watched Showtime and HBO shows on the mega sites all the time, and I'm sure thousands of others did as well. Getting something for free from a premium channel can be devastating for that business. I just might have to go and buy HBO and Showtime now. dragonball3900I've always wondered this but why should a business be protected if it's being made obsolete. Why do people feel the government should protect businesses in situations like that. These same companies have been b*tching about CDs and VHS for years and now the internet does what those did more efficiently. It's not like these media groups are going bankrupt anyway.
[QUOTE="LJS9502_basic"][QUOTE="quebec946"]One shouldn't have the freedom to take what isn't theirs.....in fact...that's harming the freedom of others. Use of irony.....false. wow someone else on the internet with a brain its a miraclethey say america is the land the of freedom IRONY.

Having a buddy come over and watch a movie at your house that you have on DVD is legal....making a copy of said DVD and giving it to him.....is not.[QUOTE="imtocool4u"]Wow they really did it Rip Mega Upload ill miss you I used it to watch anime a lot of the times . That and buying anime sold in the US costs a few arms and legs.

Most TV shows cost to much if you want to buy them not just anime. Not sure if anyones already posted this but Anonymous has retaliated
They've shut down a number of websites like the dept. of justice, universal music websites and plan on attacking the fbi webpage.

The reason they went after Megaupload was because they were making money off of the copyrighted stuff, Read Wasdie's posts eariler on this topic.
