I love Underground/Old School HipHop
Such as Wu Tang, DMX, 2Pac, Nas, Gangstarr, Army of Pharaos, Big L, Guru, Dj Premier, Necro, Jeru The Demaja, KMD, MF Doom, KRS-ONE, Immortal Technique, The Roots, Jurassic 5 and many more.

If you can name any similiar to this then i'll be happy. If you name any mainstream then i'll .........!

Welis

What's wrong with mainstream artists? Wu-Tang, DMX, 2Pac, the Roots, and KRS-One are all mainstream.... KRS-One was just on BET the other day with Soulja Boy...

Nine Inch Nails

DrSponge

High FIVE!

So mine are Nine Inch Nails, The Smashing Pumpkins, Skinny Puppy, The Pixies, The Cure, Sonic Youth, My Bloody Valentine, The Jesus and Mary Chain and Beck.

I love the The Perfect Drug video, and The Downward Spiral is one of the best albums ever made.

How can you talk about Best Albums Ever and not mention Origin Of Symmetry? :o:x Matt and co. would be so dissapointed.

Nah but really, Downward Spiral is really great but I think The Fragile is my favorite from NIN. But I'm still not so sure.

Have you heard this yet? It's a whole mixtape (for FREE) by MF Doom, who's really good.

Also try The Cool Kids.

[QUOTE="metallica_fan42"][QUOTE="airg6"][QUOTE="metallica_fan42"]My favorite genre is metal, preferabablly thrash metal. I really only listen to the older stuff, and new thrash bands are always accepted. Some bands I listen to:Metallica,Megadeth,Slayer,Anthrax,Exodus,Suicidal Tendencies,Evile,Pantera,Venom,Motorhead,Sabbath and many more I don't feel like listing.airg6
I like your music taste. We probably have a very similair library of music. If you like thrash I suggest you look up sodom, municipal waste, warbringer, kreator, destruction and ahnilator.

Kreator and Annihilator are awesome. I'll check out those other bands though. I'm always looking for thrash bands that I've never heard of before.

I would definetly out of that list I gave you check out sodom.

Don't forget Testament!

I heard the Doom mixtape the other day. It is mostly just blends and there was nothing new on it.... I already have every MF Doom album going back to his Zev Love X days with KMD in the early 90's.

The Cool Kids are alright I've been listening to them for awhile.

I like Doom a lot, ever since I heard him in that one Gorillaz song so I thought the mixtape was pretty good. And I like most of the Cool Kids stuff that's mostly simple, without all the crazy effects and stuff. Plus they're from around where I live so it's always cool to see a local band (or rappers in this case) do well.

I've been a fan for like... probably 7 or 8 months now and I can't decide. You've been trying for 9 years and still can't. I doubt I'll be able to do it for a loooong time. :P

Once Fragile (left) ends with The Great Below I feel like that was one of the best hours that I've spent listening to something. But then I think about the Ruiner solo, the catchy little riff in Hersey, everything about March of the Pigs and Closer...

It's just too much!

Okay then, Bands - Queens of the Stone Age, System of a Down, Smashing Pumpkins, Stereophonics, Massive Attack, Incubus, Velvet Revolver, The Strokes, Bad Religion, The Raconteurs, The Bravery, Stone Temple Pilots, Modest Mouse, U2, Nine Inch Nails, Weezer (blue album Weezer), Radiohead, Alice in Chains, and more that would take a while to type.

Genres - Alternative, indie, grunge, punk, alternative metal, trip-hop, psychedelic rock, sludge metal, experimental (in bold for a reason), hard rock, progressive, progressive metal, funk, neo-progressive rock, art rock, ambient, industrial.

I guess you've got a lot of stuff to work with there and yeah I'm bored.

Hmm well late'y I have been into a lot of Avant-garde stuff like Frank Zappa, Slaeepytime Gorilla Museum, Kayo Dott, UneXpecT..., Diablo Swing Orchestra, Idiot Flesh, Book Of Knots, etc...

So if you can reccomend anythng else Avant-Garde that would be cool. My knowledge of the music is pretty big but I'm always looking for something new.

cousin_eddy

Even though it isnt avant gardem Nick Cave is kinda similar to Frank Zappa. Also try Thinking plague, Henry Cow, Univers zero, Alaamailman vasarat, Mr. Bungle, and the secret chiefs 3.

Im a big fan of artists like Ray charles, Billy joel, elton john, I really like piano music with a good voice covering it. It be really happy to find some more of those artists. N0han

Rufus Wainwright does that kinda stuff, though his voice is an aquired taste. Also try Damien Rice, and No Man.

My favorite genre is metal, preferabablly thrash metal. I really only listen to the older stuff, and new thrash bands are always accepted. Some bands I listen to:Metallica,Megadeth,Slayer,Anthrax,Exodus,Suicidal Tendencies,Evile,Pantera,Venom,Motorhead,Sabbath and many more I don't feel like listing.metallica_fan42

Before I get to Thrash I am going to throw some Progressive metal your way, some of the best metal is founs there. Doom metal is also good if you like that kinda thing. Prog Metal First though:D

Arcturus

Psychotic Waltz

Athiest

Cynic

Watctower

Satellite

Tiles

Pain of salvation

Ayreon

Shadow gallery

Planet X

Symphony X

Sieges even

Now for thrash metal:)

Accuser

Artillery

Ultimatum

Viking

Bewitched

Dead Horse

Wrath

Equinox

Deliverance

I've undoubtedly already heard of any band you could recommend.
