I will try to get to you as many of you guys as I can, but there are some genres I am not so well researched in. Japanese rock music for example I never really got into.
I love Underground/Old School HipHop

Okay then, Bands - Queens of the Stone Age, System of a Down, Smashing Pumpkins, Stereophonics, Massive Attack, Incubus, Velvet Revolver, The Strokes, Bad Religion, The Raconteurs, The Bravery, Stone Temple Pilots, Modest Mouse, U2, Nine Inch Nails, Weezer (blue album Weezer), Radiohead, Alice in Chains, and more that would take a while to type.
Genres - Alternative, indie, grunge, punk, alternative metal, trip-hop, psychedelic rock, sludge metal, experimental (in bold for a reason), hard rock, progressive, progressive metal, funk, neo-progressive rock, art rock, ambient, industrial.
I guess you've got a lot of stuff to work with there and yeah I'm bored.

Reccomend me some Funk. These are the musicians I listen to: Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Shuggie Otis, Sly and the Family Stone, Curtis Mayfield, George Clinton and his groups, The Undisputed Truth, The Chamber Brothers, Betty Davis, Earth Wind and Fire, and The Isley Brothers. Melt Banana is the best Japanese band ever. I just thought I would throw that in.
I'm a HUGE fan of video game soundtracks (Especially those done by Jeremy Soule), and Movie Soundtracks. My favorite genres are rock, classical, and Alternative.
Examples are:
Soundtracks: Total Annihilation, Knights of the Old Republic 1/2, Halo, Mass Effect, Star Wars, The Matrix, Advent Children, and Sweeney Todd.
Bands: Five Iron Frenzy, Billy Talent, Linkin Park, Becoming The Archetype, Family Force 5, and Relient K.
