what if your own beliefs are wrong? We all make mistakes, so it is possible that there is a God, and do you really want to take that chance that you are offending him? Not believing is one thing, disrespecting is another thing entirely.whipassmt
Actually, my mom says to not humor Christianity; but to be sure. She always told me that if I don't really believe what I say its breaking the first or second commandment (I forget which; maybe both) and I am sinning. So I was able to tell her easily that I'm agnostic atheist. :P and its not offending/disrespecting Him because you don't want some stuff in your room. :|
I can't believe I'm actually posting here.
It's not the not wanting the objects in his room that I was saying was offensive, it was his referring to the objects as "junk".

"You shall not make for yourself an idol" "You shall not make wrongful use of the name of your God" :| Are you talking about offense to Him or people? In your post you said "do you really want to take that chance that you are offending him?" so... EDIT: to clarify, my point is that this can be junk to even Christian people. Its not offensive to say so.

But it is junk to him, they are objects he has no need or want for, therefore they're junk

Well kind of both. I was talking about him offending both people and God, and I don't think the objects are idols.

still using the term "junk" does no good for anyone involved. For instance, if I though your car was crappy, I wouldn't say to you "you're car is junk".
