I'm not sure Best Korea has ever successfully launched a nuke even in a test.

Well played. 10/10 Did you purposefully put best instead of north, in hopes that someone would call it out?

Too risky... More than just that to it. The North could easily attack the South, it's not as simple as waiting for the right moment and then jumping on them, especially when they most likely have nukes.

The South is under the US's nuclear umbrella though....

Any idiocy use of nukes from North would result in:

In all honesty, wtf is South Korea doing playing wargames right on the border with N.Korea? These are not the actions of a nation that wants to avoid trouble. Do your ****ing wargames somewhere further South, or else a lot of countries are going to get dragged into the war.

SK has been bullied enough. They need to stand up for themselves. Its obvious these attacks aren't stopping anytime soon. They are going as far as they can without starting war. Of course, this is my perspective, and while I disagree with other nations being involved, as they should settle matters themselves, I don't think China and US aren't going to back out of this.

Yup that's true, the US is obligated to help the south if they get into a war with North Korea and China isn't about to let the North Korean government get deposed as they are one of North Koreas biggest allies. This is looking grim.

Imo, the Chinese aren't going to necessarily side with anyone. We saw that when they released a statement about the shelling the other day. It's probably better for their interests if war could be avoided.

O it defenitely would be in their best interests economically to stay out of this as they're already garunteed to become a huge economic superpower in the near future but I can't see them letting an invasion of north korea commence while they stand by and do nothing. Hopefully I'm wrong though.

Pretty much what I was thinking, eliminate a large amount of debt with them, probably not all of it, and it would increase our political relationship aswell.

But they are also NK's main ally who has stood with them, is obviously disturbed by the presence of a US super carrier present, is becoming increasingly powerful, and has disputed territory with Japan. Now, I'm not saying they will be involved but there are some clues.

China would tell us to **** off if we did that. Contrary to popular belief, the main reason China doesn't want war to break out isn't because they like North Korea, it's because they don't want to have to deal with the massive influx of impoverished, brainwashed North Korean refugees that are sure to flood into China the second NK's government becomes too weak to guard the borders anymore. As it stands now China happily ships back any North Korean refugees it finds crossing the border into China not because it gives a damn what NK's government wants but simply because the Chinese hate the idea of their country being flooded with refugees.

Well the one flaw with this plan is why would China allow a country they essentially already own through their massive alliance to be taken over then sold back to them for a very large sum when they can simply help defend it (also keeping a measure of stability in the region as the current government wouldn't be deposed).

Still, waging war on the western world is not something you just jump into. Even back in 1950, China hesitated to directly declare war during the Korean war, and that was before their economy went global.

If they try and defend it, they'll probably lose. Also the economy would be blown open.

BreakingLaws

Except that China is most rural land so its not like they're in need of farmland. Even if they were, North Korea is a terrible candidate for farmland considering that it's mostly mountains and the dam the North Koreans built flooded the region so badly that any farmland that they did have has long since been destroyed. There's a reason why North Korea has to resort to these stunts to beg for more food aid every year and why even despite that malnutrition is the major cause of death among North Koreans.

I would agree 100% about them losing if America wasn't in the state it's currently in, waging wars in multiple regions already coupled with a weak economy and a public who wouldn't support this war, not to mention china will essentially be fighting on home turf means it'll be no easy win by any means.

Thank you for the explanation, I honestly don't know much about the realtions and politics between them. Either way though, it seems China would have to deal with NK refugees. The question is if China would be be able to withstand the refugee problem, for a major turf exapansion?

Still, waging war on the western world is not something you just jump into. Even back in 1950, China hesitated to directly declare war during the Korean war, and that was before their economy went global. F1_2004
Of course just jumping into it is not usually the case. I personally believe they wouldn't go into it if ever came to war (which is still very unlikely), but it is not something that you shouldn't be surprised about.

[QUOTE="optiow"]If the North attacked they would be destroyed. The world is just waiting for a chance to invade. Ravensmash
Too risky... More than just that to it. The North could easily attack the South, it's not as simple as waiting for the right moment and then jumping on them, especially when they most likely have nukes.

You can have a gun that's jammed. When you do it's basically a hunk of plastic and metal.

Best Korea likely has Nukes. Have they had a successful test launch? No. Considering they're using equipment from the 50's, it's hard to say their nukes will even reach out of best Korea or if it will even launch.

I'm also not sure on how it all works but if they nuked, sey, Seoul, wouldn't the fallout drift to Best Korea and kill them as well? Nukes arn't too useful if you're going to kill yourself with them.

[QUOTE="F1_2004"]In all honesty, wtf is South Korea doing playing wargames right on the border with N.Korea? These are not the actions of a nation that wants to avoid trouble. Do your ****ing wargames somewhere further South, or else a lot of countries are going to get dragged into the war.sherman-tank1

And by stand up for themselves we mean provoke the bully and then hide behind the body builder(US).

[QUOTE="gameguy6700"][QUOTE="Bardock47"] It would be a win/win from what I can see as well.

Thank you for the explanation, I honestly don't know much about the realtions and politics between them. Either way though, it seems China would have to deal with NK refugees. The question is if China would be be able to withstand the refugee problem, for a major turf exapansion?

What makes you think if North Korea fell it would go into Chinese hands?
