Has anyone else been going crazy on all the free stuff? I've gotten two free tall Starbuck's coffees just by telling them I voted. They've been advertising it for some time. I know Ben & Jerry is giving away free ice cream, but there's no way you'll ever get me in one of those stores, since a lot of their money goes to pro-abortion causes. mysterylobster
I want free stuff. Damn :(
Perhaps I will go to the store and get stuff. Then drive through the streets and give people stuff.

Well people do like stuff. And things.
Krispy Kreme is giving away free red white and blue donuts, I hear. I don't eat donuts and have doubts about the legality of baking Old Glory into a pastry, but I'm sure some more liberal minded people could take advantage of this.
I don't want any free stuff :evil:Jandurin
Sure you do

lulz. Can't turn that down. That'd be a free PS3!Technically I could go and get all this free stuff by telling them I voted, when I am not. It's not like you get stamped on the forehead, "I voted" or something.FragStainsThey can smell your lies! I don't want ice cream or coffee. I've been drinking caffeine and eating snickers all morning :P

Some stores require a receipt.

You do get a thingamabob and show it to them.

Lameness. Oh well. I don't drink coffee anyway. And I don't have Krispy Kremes in my region of the country.I was thinking about this earlier...you should be able to vote against someone, rather than just voting for someone else. Each candidate would have a Yes or No box to choose. Meaning someone like me who doesn't identify with any of the candidates could vote against all of them without having to give my support to someone I didn't truly support.
That might actually get me to vote. My vote of dissent would be heard clearly, without it being sullied by voting for another loser.
You're doing the same thing by not voting at all.I was thinking about this earlier...you should be able to vote against someone, rather than just voting for someone else. You want to cancel someone else's vote for someone. Weird. Not exactly. It's not that I want to cancel out someone else's vote, I just want my voice to be heard clearly to the candidate. It's an unfortunate casualty, I admit, but ultimately fair in my opinion.
I think I should be able to hurt the candidates, not just support the opposing one.

The problem with that would be that you should only get one vote or one unvote per ballot, and that would be hard to control?[QUOTE="Jandurin"][QUOTE="FragStains"]You're doing the same thing by not voting at all.I disagree. why do you need to hurt the person you do not want to win? why so vindictive? you're free to vote for whoever you want.

The problem with that would be that you should only get one vote or one unvote per ballot, and that would be hard to control?I can agree with one vote or unvote per person. Of course, I shouldn't be able to go down the line of candidates and cancel out 8 votes with my one ballot. I'd have to choose who I want to support or hurt. This will never happen, but in my ideal world I'd see it implemented...but if it was my ideal world Wendy's would be healthy, cars would run on happiness, and I could sell my old belongings via Morrowind.[QUOTE="Oleg_Huzwog"]Obama - 302
McCain - 236That's what the final tally will be. I have foreseen it.

There are many 'voices' to be heard in an election. As of right now, only 'voices' of support are heard. I just want the anti-voice to be heard as well. For example, say Coca-Cola sells about 300,000,000 bottles of Coke per day worldwide. Right now, I can either 'vote' for them, by buying another one bringing their total to 300,000,001. Or I can not buy one, which would make the total 300,000,000. What I want is to be able to destroy a bottle of coke that someone else bought, bringing their total to 299,999,999. It's a bad analogy but you get the point.

We get what you're saying, but it'll never happen because it takes away someone else's right to vote.
I voted. I was number 529 in my precinct. As usual it is a pretty fast and simple process around here.duxup
I was number 109 and I only spent 20mins on line. It was a cool feeling because I voted in my old elementary school that I havent stepped in for years :).
I officially hype Obama to score a 344 and McCain will flop big time with 170.
OBAMA AAAAE FOR AMERICA!

Holy crap a line! For me it was walk in, check in, vote, stick my ballot in the vote eating machine, and walk out. No lines.
I voted in the local megachurch.

Me and the wife got HD last week. I can't wait to see what kind of special goodies CNN has in store for me. I missed out on those little dials that the 'experts' had during the debates.FragStains
you didn't miss anything... it was lame
I waited in line for 30 minutes, and when I was done there was almost no line, so I must have been part of the morning rush. It would have been faster, but there was an issue with my hat. Some parents wanted me to remove it because they had their kids around, but the poll workers made me take it off because you apparently can't have campaign paraphernalia in the voting area (even though I didn't consider it to be related to any of the campaigns).
Good thing I didn't listen to Obama and take the whole day off. I'd probably do the same thing, just at home.
...
Some people might get a kick out of what Sarah's dad said today:
""I'm just so proud to be Sarah's father." Heath said smiling, "Years ago I taught Sarah how to field dress a moose. But tomorrow I want you to see her field dress a donkey.""
That's right Mr. Heath. You raised a gem. I think we're all waiting to see what Palin will field dress next.

During the past few months Lobster you gave me another reason to vote for Obama, just to see what ridiculous things you will post in the upcoming years if he is elected.
