Apparently CNN has an article that this years number of votes cast is about 4 million more then the 2004 Election, but the percent turn out of registered voters was smaller, one reason being due to the fact that the turn out from Republicans was smaller then 2004, some say Palin could be one reason for that.

I was close. Look at my 2 maps:

Didn't think Obama would win Indiana, eh? ;) Well, neither did I. I mean, Indiana was #1 in the country in terms of KKK membership at one point. The fact that it voted for a black man in light of that history is just mind-boggling to me.

Looks like he didn't

I was in an office pool and we're fighting over this. I think you should go by the state's results.

More states will slowly become democratic and none will ever go back.

I like it.

honestly if things do not get better it'll likely swing back the other way again.. thats just how it works.

No too much of one thing is not good there needs to be a balance. If you have to many people that are far left that creates a lot of problems, same goes with too many people that are far right create to many problems as well.

I'm not sure what that's about, but every single news network is showing about five million more votes than that. Given that I kind of doubt they would just flat-out make up numbers, I'm going to have to assume that that site isn't showing the complete results for some reason (especially given the bright red note at the top).

I am SO happy that Obama won!!! I think it's definitely time for America to have a change, after eight years of lies. I believe that by electing our first black president, we look a lot better as a country to the rest of the world. I think once we unite as a whole, and stop living as these "red and blue states", change will occur for the better. We are not enemies, we simply disagree. And for those who are taking the ignorant route and still hating on Obama - that will do absolutely nothing. The tribe has spoken, America wants change.

Also, I think this thread has officially served its purpose, so I'm gonna go ahead and un-sticky it.

it's kind of funny looking at a sticky being un-sticky-ed. it's like a fall from grace. Be modest oh former sticky thread, stay humble, learn humility.
