Liberals pounce on Fox because they don't report what they want to hear!

mfacek

fari and balanced! lmao

I don't know how you call that fair considering every other media outlet in this nation was pro liberal the entire time.

yeah i think now that the entire government is being ran by democrats we'll all see how biased cnn, and especial msnbc is for this administration. and only fox news will have the balls to keep it fair. im watching hannity and colmes and also oreilly tonight, because it will be the only shows where you'll get some real discussion tonight, all the other stations seem to be having orgasms over obama right now.

What? This isn't about Obama, this is about America. MSNBC and CNN are excited becuase this is such a huge step for America. Only Fox News wouldn't be even a little excited at the fact that we for the first time in America history elected someone other than just another white guy as a president. If it was a black republican that one than CNN and MSNBC would be just as excited.

Even McCain said in his speech this is an exciting, momentous time in American history.

Is it really that special though? Thats the problem these kind of statements right here is what bring racism back in the picture all the time. Why can't he be just another guy who worked his but off to get where he is today and leave it at that. Instead it has to be this long drawn out emotional deal acting like African Americans don't have oppotunities at all in this country it just gets old having to listen to it.

As opposed to fox news with their hateful BS and propogation of the Ashley Todd rubbish (which was clearly a hoax)

it's all moot anyway. Obama got elected. As hard as it is you're going to have to stomach the change from Bush

It isnt hard for me to stomach anything, I mean because clearly no matter who got elected president. I still have to wake up in the morning goto work and goto school to earn the degree to make something of myself. So no trust me I'm not losing sleep over it. But since Obama is now in office I could probably take the route of not having to do any of that and just mooch off people, because thats who is for anyways. Mine as well take the easy road and get everything handed to me.

Yup, live off wellfare and food stamps, that's fine.

But when you live in either a trailer park, or a ghetto, just barely scraping by off food stamps with little to nothing in your name while your friends who actually applied themselves go to work, buy large houses and nice cars, you can shove your foot down your throat. This is America, those that apply themselves will always reap the benefits.

America isn't, and will never be, a wellfare state no matter how hard you whine about it. This isn't Sweden or Norway and it never will be. Obama won't make it one no matter how much O'Reilly says he will. I promise.

Give me a break, a gay pride parade is an hour long, and hardly effects you. Grow up.

In San Francisco, a gay teacher brings her class to see her marry her lover, for a field trip. Stuff like that I hate and do not approve. It is fine, if they want to be gay but to force that upon little kids and other things is the stuff that pisses me off.

No I don't remember O'Reilly mentioning that, but thats ok. The bottom line is liberals like to help out a lot of people, put a lot of government programs in place and the money to do all that comes out of my check. Thats what Obama is for and thats what liberals have been for and if you don't see that then well I don't have much more to say to you, other than that you have definately missed the past 4 years where the dems have had controll of the senate and it was dems who felt it was a great idea that everyone should be able to have house and get a loan. Look how that worked out for you.

Becuase they moved America further towards equality, and away from derisive factors like sexism, racism, and hate. As much as you hate to admit it, this is a HUGE step forwards for not just America, but the world. This sentiment is being echoed worldwide by people from London, to Indonesia.

This is one step closer to helping America become that becon of light on the hill again.

That would be just as innappropriate if a staright couple did that.

One example of a gay couple acting innappropriate hardly proves that it would be "forcing it upon little kids".

Especially when it's been proven that you are born gay it isn't a choice.

Please America moved passed racism along time ago, I dont know where the heck you have been. I never said that it didn't exist that is like saying drugs are going to go away. All those things you say are special, were at the time, but we are now at a point as a nation that it should not be that way anymore because if you are looking for equality than that is definately not the way to show it by showing your differences proudly by saying this is the first African American to do this, it just gets to a point where it loses its meaning. If you want to take an even greater step to equality you take away AA then this we will be talking

I doubt MSNBC would be celebrating a black Republican president. Not because of race, but because of his party.

Look how that worked out for you.

Wow, ignorance is bliss I guess.

Well for one, you are completely wrong about democratse believing everyone should have a house. This is actually a republican ideal. It's called reagonomics, and it's policies that were eneacted under Reagan, and continued to be untill today, have been to increase home ownership. The belief is that if you own a house, you will contribute more to the economy and to the community than if you didn't. So you are completely wrong on that.

Furthermore, if you feel Obama's main goal is to "put a lot of government programs in place and the money to do all that comes out of my check" you are crazy. Especially consider under BUSH, a republican, the deficit it as the highest it has ever been in the history of the U.S. But I digress, Obama isn't some crazy liberal. He is a moderate democrat. in fact, the reason he one is becuase he appeals so well to moderates, and McCain really only appeals to the far right. Obama won't be enacting any crazy wellfare policies. If you truley believe that, give me some examples of him saying so.

You also are completely wrong about how long the democrats have been in control of the senate. They have controlled it for the past 2 years, not 4. And we began our path to this economic decline LONG before they controlled it.

I can't believe gay marriage was banned in California. I am moving to Spain or Australia.

mfacek

If I am correct, in Florida as well. I voted yes for marriage between a man and a woman. Nothing against gays, but that is how I feel.

Nothing like forcing your personal beliefs on others right?

Not like they shove that gay pride events down everyone's throat!! Nothing against them, but I hate when they shove all this stuff about them being gay down my throat.

Uh-oh, your homophobia is showing!

That would be just as innappropriate if a staright couple did that.

One example of a gay couple acting innappropriate hardly proves that it would be "forcing it upon little kids".

Especially when it's been proven that you are born gay it isn't a choice.

i for one think Gay Pride is completely counter productive.

its completely redundant.

im a libertarian so i believe everyone has the right to live their lives they was they choose to. but nobody cares how you spend your private life. is there really any reason to throw a parade because you like to do it with the same sex? wow good for you, NOT THAT SPECIAL. its not like being gay is anything new! alexander the great was a huge gay for crying out loud.

for real, gay parades are one of the dumbest things i have ever seen. when i went to the phillies parade last week, i felt there was tremendous cause for that because the team had every right to be celebrating and the whole city wanted to join them. they had accomplished something really big and important to the city.

but when it comes to gays parades its like, what makes you think you need celebrate being gay for?! thats not an accomplishment. at all. takes no effort to be gay.

its like the phillies throwing a parade every year because theyre the phillies. thats it. that would be stupid and the entire country would think its totally unnecessary and practically insulting to the real winning teams.

also it hasn't been proven ANYWHERE that being gay is natural. you just pulled that fact out of your rear end.

they did a big study on dead gay people and found an anomaly in many of them.

i for one believe that most people who are gay aren't actually born gay but aren't gay by choice either (sometimes it happens though), but for some other reason they have developed into a gay person and are perfectly happy with it. and if theyre happy, im happy for them.

And this is where I decided to just quit arguing with you. If you truely believe America has moved passed racism than you are extremely ignorant. I guess maybe you didn't catch the news reports on the 2 assassination plots against Obama plotted by the KKK and skinheads. The KKK still exists. Neo-Nazi's exist and are actually extremely prominent in prisons. Maybe you missed the pamphlet a far right group in California made, a picture of Obama with kool-aid, watermelon, and friend chicken. Hate crimes still happen all the time.

You do realize that everytime Obama is called a muslim, or an arab it's racism. Not against blacks, but middle easterners. In fact, hate crimes against middle easterners increased threefold following 9/11. Would it really be bad if we did have an arab running as president?

To say America has moved passed racism is completely idiotic and ignorant.

Don't even respond to this, I promise you I won't even read it.

That is my point exactly. I do not care about your private life. I am not going to throw a damn parade because I am straight. No one would care and no one should care about what people do behind close doors.

I don't know how you call that fair considering every other media outlet in this nation was pro liberal the entire time.

mfacek

I promise.

First off you hear of Barney Frank or is that someone you just think is myth? Thats all I have to say about the crisis we are in.

Secondly you want to talk about some far left ideals from Obama, spread the wealth, tax the wealthy because you know its not fair that they make the money they do and some who can't be a CEO doesn't. Give tax breaks to 95% of Americans, which 40% of that 95% don't even contribute. Talks of a national healthcare system is all that has to be said about his healthcare deal. I really don't want to go anymore into this because I really don't have the time, but I'll be sure to get back on later.

This isn't a debate about whether a gay pride parade is productive or not.

If you are a true libertarian than you would have voted to allow gay marriage as it would be just one less way government would be interfering in American's lives. If they have the right to be gay who's to say they can't marry? The government? I thought you were libertarian.

I am curious though, did you vote to ban it just becuase you don't like gay pride parades?

Racism will never go away, and to pretend it will or doesn't exist is idiotic.

It's special though becuase this election proves America IS TRYING to moving past racism.

Why was Martin Luther King special? Why was Jackie Robinson special? Why was the bill of rights special when it was drafted?

Becuase they moved America further towards equality, and away from derisive factors like sexism, racism, and hate. As much as you hate to admit it, this is a HUGE step forwards for not just America, but the world. This sentiment is being echoed worldwide by people from London, to Indonesia.

This is one step closer to helping America become that becon of light on the hill again.

Please America moved passed racism along time ago, I dont know where the heck you have been.

Are you kidding me right now? The KKK, skinheads? Do you really think they have any power anymore? This is outragous, of course there are people who don't like people out there in this country, its a shame but thats how it is, but it sure as hell isn't at a point where people have to look over their backs. That is the most insane thing I have ever heard of. If you don't think President Bush while serving his term didn't have death threats you my friend are unrealistic. The bottom line is that the way you are portraying racism is that you have daily lynch mobs going around the nation killing people, if you honestly believe that is going on than you really don't have a clue. Unfortunately in our lives there are always going to be hatred amongst people, but it is not nearly as much as you think. Secondly if you debate with someone you listen to both sides and you don't sit there and say oh I'm not talking anymore because you don't agree with me. Than you shouldn't even be on here.

Yup, this entire financial crisis lands on Barney Franks shoulders  This crisis is the fault of democrats and republicans ALIKE. To blame one or the other is completely ridiculous

Secondly you want to talk about some far left ideals from Obama, spread the wealth

This was a poor choice of words. All he was trying to say was he wished to increse the middle **** Something every president has tried to do since FDR.

, tax the wealthy because you know its not fair that they make the money they do and some who can't be a CEO doesn't

He's increasing taxes on the extremely wealthy, the top 5% of the nation. He is only increasing these taxes because they were lowered under Bush, and this "trickle down effect" failed. Again, you lack of knowledge on the issue of taxes and the economy is showing.

. Give tax breaks to 95% of Americans, which 40% of that 95% don't even contribute.

They contributed, but not sizably. They can't because they are in the lower quintile and NEED that money for Little Susie's braces, or to send Greg to college. Again, a policy to increase the middle ****which has decreased significantly under Bush.

Talks of a national healthcare system is all that has to be said about his healthcare deal.

This is a COMPLETE miss characterization of his healthcare proposal. All he wants is to have affordable healthcare rates, not a socialized healthcare system. Again you are ethier misscharacterizing his stance, or you don't completely understand the issue.

I really don't want to go anymore into this because I really don't have the time, but I'll be sure to get back on later.

You should look into taking an econ ****in before you come back)

Becuase they moved America further towards equality, and away from derisive factors like sexism, racism, and hate. As much as you hate to admit it, this is a HUGE step forwards for not just America, but the world. This sentiment is being echoed worldwide by people from London, to Indonesia.

This is one step closer to helping America become that becon of light on the hill again.

Please America moved passed racism along time ago, I dont know where the heck you have been.

Don't even respond to this, I promise you I won't even read it.

dude, this country has moved past racism. there will always be some stupid racist people. thats not the same thing. our culture is not racist anymore like it used to be.

Dude it has more alot but that dosent change the fact RACIST STILL EXIST ALL OVER THE WORLD AND INCLUDING THE USA. some stupid racsit people are still racsit racist is racsit not matter how stupid you are.

Racism will never go away, and to pretend it will or doesn't exist is idiotic.

Give me a break, a gay pride parade is an hour long, and hardly effects you. Grow up.

In San Francisco, a gay teacher brings her ****to see her marry her lover, for a field trip. Stuff like that I hate and do not approve. It is fine, if they want to be gay but to force that upon little kids and other things is the stuff that pisses me off.

Yes i am libertarian, and i will leave it up to the most respected Libertarian i know of to answer this more intelligently for you.

Anyone else see the Indecision 08? I watched the replay of the episode on comedycentral.com this morning, even though i knew Obama won, hearing the announcement from John Stewart gave me the chills. Colberts reaction was awesome with the goggles and head phones. I loved the end.

ronniepage588

You can't change human nature. America may not be overtly racist, I NEVER said it was.

To say "America has moved past racism" however seems to imply racism is no longer an issue when it certainly is. Watch some of the videos of people after McCain rallies. They rarely bash him for being black, but they almost all claim him to be an "arab" or "muslim".

Racism against blacks is certainly no where near how it was decades ago, however Middle Easterners seem to bear that burden now.

SO, I'll try to clarify my stance.

Obviously America isn't overtly racist, and great strides have been made on the issue. Especially in terms of civil rights, and treatment of African-Americans.

HOWEVER, to say that America has somehow magically moved past racism, when it is human nature to be, and is evident around the globe, is simply ridiculous.

Just this halloween I saw at least 3-4 "terrorist" costumes. Complete with a turban, a dot on their forhead (maybe they didn't realize Hinduism isn't Islam), and PAINT TO MAKE THEIR FACES BROWN! (Black face anyone?)

America will never move "past" racism. It will always exist here. Just like how it will exist in every mutliracial country around the globe.

I can't believe gay marriage was banned in California. I am moving to Spain or Australia.

Why don't you just move to Massachusetts? :P

Everyone in my school thinks Obama will be assassinated.

[/facepalm]

Now, let me explain my facepalm for those who may take it the wrong way. I know Obama has and will get death threats, and assassination plots will form, he may even get a gun fired towards him, but I highly doubt that with the amount of security and technology these days Obama will get killed.

The popular vote was actually pretty close.
