With 14% of the vote in, Giannoulias (D-IL) leads big... but that's mostly thanks to Chicago.

Yeah, I saw that. I do think he'll pull it off, but obviously not by the numbers he's leading by atm.
Rand Paul making speech. Confirming all fears that he will gridlock the Senate. Establishment beware, he is no rose bush, just a thorny vine.
Quote Rand Paul: "Freedom is best when it is enjoyed by the most."
As a minority myself, I am very concerned by that haunting quote. What does that mean for the few? Scary...
They will most likely hold the majority in the Senate. However it's all but sealed that they will lose the house.C'mon Dems....only a few more seats to hold the majority in Senate.

It is a well-known fact that Churchill, Attlee, Elizabeth I and William Pitt the Younger all would have been Republicans. :P[QUOTE="fidosim"][QUOTE="Ravensmash"]Erm....go good guys!?GabuEx
Don't forget Jesus.
No cuz he was born in Keny er Palestine.

The Dems will almost certainly keep the Senate, which, as the GOP will almost certainly take the House, we're in for some major gridlock.
I was expecting a gridlock... I knew that right-wing claims of a republican revolution like 1996 were over exaggerated. Most Americans just go off of who has the best adds. Many probably vote for the Democrat Senate and the Republican House :PSuch a bizarre election cycle. The Democrats are getting creamed in the House, but they're doing surprisingly well in the Senate. I don't know what to make of it.

SHEHEEN LEADS HALEY FOR SOUTH CAROLINA GOVERNOR! YES! :D KEEP IT UP DEMS AND SANE REPS!!!!
I'm very pleased how Vincent Sheheen has maintained his lead.Travo_basic
That's real bipartisanship. There is no way he'd be leading if Republicans voted for Haley. All I've got to says is I'm hoping against hope that the Republicans voted for their own self interests.
The most as in the most people. Freedom is better when everyone can enjoy it. What does you being a minority have to do with that quote? I am not sure I understand what you're saying about Rand Paul.Rand Paul making speech. Confirming all fears that he will gridlock the Senate. A lot of the feeling I get is that many(myself included) don't trust her. She never had a real grasp on how to solve issues and seems to be hiding a lot about her own finances. We are at 35% of the vote counted and Sheheen has about a 20,000 vote lead.OH GOD! Anyone but Boehner! D,=scorch-62
I'm hoping that Paul Ryan gets Speaker or Tea Partiers vote in Bachmann. Paul Ryan would pay in bipartisanship whereas Bachmann pays up some SERIOUS political capital for the Democrats.
Regardless who it is, if it is not somebody like Ryan, Democrats will rally and hang them out to dry.

If you don't understand my post then I can't explain much beyond that for atime in this country when Freedom was enjoyed by the most it was to the detriment of the least.

So you're saying that there is a racial undertone in Rand Paul's message? I almost can't believe that someone could believe such a thing and hence I did not understand your post. Freedom for the most as in the most people. That's it. Why you would choose to bring race into this beyond me...........[QUOTE="fidosim"]Michael Bennet (D) out ah770ead of Ken Buck (R), even though the last polls iv'e seen had Buck slightly ahead. Interesting. Hickenlooper is looking on track to win too.GreySeal9
Thank God.
Republicans could win 70-80 and I'd still be happy if Tancredo lost.
If Dan Maes had left the race, he probably would have won. It looks like he is doing a bit better than the last polls had him at, which is bad news for Tancredo.[QUOTE="GreySeal9"][QUOTE="fidosim"]Michael Bennet (D) out ah770ead of Ken Buck (R), even though the last polls iv'e seen had Buck slightly ahead. Given Colorado's political makeup, I think it'll tighten up a lot. I think it'll go down as a classic 1912 scenario.OMG the Greens could spoil SC-GOV race for the Democrats. *WTF* Why would you through away a vote for an executive seat on a third party :(

You have no clue how perplexed I am by people who vote for non-viable third parties.

Well the only thing that makes them non-viable is that nobody votes for them... :P

He'll definitely win, who knows by how much. Glenn Beck was saying he'd consider moving to Colorado if Tancredo won. Guess that won't happen. :P[QUOTE="Ultimas_Blade"]Could you respond to Limp's question above? Watch_My_6
Look up Paul's views on the Civil Rights Act of 1964, in particular watch his interviews on the subject. Especially about the parts that involve businesses and segregation.I'm not just 'injecting race' into the issue like Limp said. I told him I didn't want to explain because it might derail the topic. Paul has said things that doesn't make me comfortable with him being a Senator. I group him with people like Demint, except he isn't necessarily a bigot, just an ideologue.
Do I need to explain anything else to you all?
