I don't see it as horrifying. Blatant political propaganda, and using religion for it, too, so certainly shameful, but not the worst of its kind.

My main problems with the painting are these:

1) Jesus' facial hair is too subdued. His beard is usually at least 3x more rockin' than it is in this painting

2) What is Han Solo doing behind Abraham Lincoln?
