Elect change. Elect the republican who voted with bush 90% time!

Gee, the Congress with the lowest approval rating ever is...what's that? Controlled by the Democrats you say? Huh....We should definitely punish the Republicans then.

Congress cant get any thing done because of bush in office, and the dems cant override because they dont have 3/4th majority.

Last I checked, Bush hasn't vetoed EVERYTHING that has come out of Congress.

Stop the excuses.

yea he doesn't veto republican bills

I wanna watch this just to see what she has to say. Hopefully she doesn't choke on stage:lol:Raged_Soulja
Like Hil?

Anyway, I don't really care for either candidate this election so I'm skipping voting. McCain picking her was a terrible choice in my opinion and made me not vote for him. Nor will I vote for the liberal Obama.

Anyway, I'll read some basic outline excepts on her speech and the aftermath overall impression [of both sides including Independent] what they think about her. I will not waste my time oogling eye her on TV [aka glued to the TV just to see her speech].

Well the thing is, Obama say he will lower taxes for the lower clas but that is true in a sense he will pass something that will lower taxes for the middle-lower clases, then he will start his Health Care, Improving other gov't projects.. Which will cost money, so he may have lowered taxes but these projects will force taxes up more than how much he lowered them.. So in the end everyone has higher taxes..

Dude stop using that crappy argument.. If that's seriously all you can throw out here then Obama's in trouble. How bout you check what these bills were, and how many other people voted with Bush 90% of the time. I believe there were quite a few senators because the fact that all the bills are 1 sided, and no one is willing to compromise and they are all on the exact same thing. Wow I love the nations worst congress.

Not a big fan myself, unfortunately this IS a post 9/11 Republican convention, it has to be said.

hokies1313

It will ALWAYS be a post 9/11 convention and we already had one.

Well hopefully one day, we can hold a convention without an on going War on Terrorism.

I'm failing to understand why anyone with a sense of what's happening to this country would vote for McCain. Do you people even live in the same country I do? Have this many people been brainwashed into thinking ANYTHING in this country is going to change if McCain gets elected? Mr.McCain (The "maverick") has voted with President Bush 100% of the time this year.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/05/27/mccain-voted-with-bush-10_n_103718.html

Some other fun facts about John...

"The Children's Defense Fund rated McCain as the worst senator in Congress for children. He voted against the children's health care bill last year, then defended Bush's veto of the bill"

"He's one of the richest people in a Senate filled with millionaires. The Associated Press reports he and his wife own at least eight homes! Yet McCain says the solution to the housing crisis is for people facing foreclosure to get a "second job" and skip their vacations."

"McCain has sought closer ties to the extreme religious right in recent years. The pastor McCain calls his "spiritual guide," Rod Parsley, believes America's founding mission is to destroy Islam, which he calls a "false religion." McCain sought the political support of right-wing preacher John Hagee, who believes Hurricane Katrina was God's punishment for gay rights and called the Catholic Church "the Antichrist" and a "false cult."

"He positions himself as pro-environment, but he scored a 0—yes, zero—from the League of Conservation Voters last year."

Plus, you can browse dozens of more fun facts like those above at this site: http://www.mccainfact.com/

Read through all that, and if you still support him after reading through it, well, I don't know what to tell you, other than you're so ignorant it makes my head asplode.

Cpt_Meh

First off, your sources are horribly biased. 3nd McCain is the furthest thing from a religous nut.

And if you bring up religion, could you also mention the racist rantings of Rev. Wright?

Those facts are from sources like ABC, MSNBC, Bloomberg, Reuters, etc. I apologize for not providing alternate links to Fox news, so you don't have to face the truth. And Obama has distanced himself from Wright, and condoned him. I suppose he's supposed to go back in time and never attend that church?

But electing a gun ho liberal who wants "change." Gee, what's this guy going to "change?" Oh yeah! That's right his voting record shows change and that he can coorporate with both sides of the party! NOT!!!!

A guy who has to have tremendous amount of pressure on him to disacociate with ppl.... once the truth becomes known he really decides to still test the waters and deny it.... until the pressure gets on him and he goes with popular vote [but still in a liberal way]

No, his experience as a public servant is what makes him qualified to be president as well as his military training.

And being a veteran is definately something to be proud of, and it was a HUGE deal at the time. He came from a very well known family. That is why it is still talked about today.

Yeah what about the people that cannot get jobs? Watch some of bill moyers speechs. He followed a lady who could not get a job because when she was young she lost all of her teeth and now she can't afford dentures that fit her so she looks deformed and no one will hire her. There are some people who cannot work because minimum wage isn't high enough to support their children so they have no choice to stay on welfare. Its alright though because they have bootstraps that they can pull them selfs up with

you mean personal? and honestly even if someone, and i mean someone because it would be extremely rare, did abuse welfare, there are many more rich people who abuse tax loopholes. and there are more companies that abuse taxes. so dont bs about 'ohh poor people dont work hard, if theyre on welfare its cause theyre exploiting the system.' seriously, we should be worrying about the rich people who abuse the system no the poor ones, as they have so much more to gain out of it and screw our society over so much more.

[QUOTE="fidosim"]That was a terrific speech, I like this lady. I liked Giuliani's speech too. There were some good disses tonight. "I guess being a mayor is kind of like being a community organizer, except when you're a mayor you have actual responsibilities." :lol:Tjeremiah1988

it was far from terrific.

Whatever, that was probably one of the funniest things I've ever heard.. and is so Freking true.. I'm starting to like Palin more and more!

Yea and I will be a mayor of a Small city and a governor for 2 years of a state with a smaller population of Austin Texas

Wow, both of you need to grow up. The most immature posts I've seen on GS yet.

Both post are very ignorant. They obviously just want to attack the party in anyway possible.

She's done more in her offices than Obama has EVER done. Her and McCain actually care about the country as opposed to Obama/ Biden who care more about empowering their party. Everything she said is true. There are NO good reasons to vote for Obama. Those only reasons people can give are "hope and change" and "more of the same". It's silly rhetoric. Well McCain has stood up to the republican party before because of his personal convictions and Palin has stood up to established power. All Obama has are empty words. Palin and McCain have shown who they are. It would be foolish for anyone to vote against them. It's blunt, but true. Now it's bed time.

No, not really. You can fold your arms and grimace in the corner though.

Exactly. That was a terrific point. There is no "present" option for the Presidency.

There isn't. The mccain campaign thinks so though. Every speech on mccain has mentioned his pow experience, and since obama hasn't served he isn't ready to be president.

Yes , but McCain has actually tried to accomplished things in the senate, as opposed to just voting present.

umm you are aware he was nominated to become a general which means he has military leadership experience and that's tuff work. So don't say he doesn't have leadership experience. He has a hell of alot more than Obama.

McCain has more political experience than Obama, and has more knowledge of Foreign Affairs than Obama AND Biden.
