Stop whining about pot being the reason for your Friends leaving you.... They probably weren't GOOD friends to begin with!!..if you're more careful with who you label as "FRIENDS" you might not be so disappointed!...

This is not true at all. The drug can be physically addictive to some, or it can be psychologically addictive to others, or it may not be addictive at all. It all depends on the individual. Stating Pot is not addictive is false. Much like alcohol is addictive to some but not everyone - we would not say alcohol is not addictive because it depends on the person. It is the same with Marijuana. There are those individuals who are addicted to it - physically, psychologically, or both.

First you must blame yourself, before you can blame the pot and your friends. It was your choice to start in the first place and it is your choice to stop, its not to late my friend, I hope you can turn your life around.

Prove it is not to everyone. Then deal with it being psychologically addictive.

True, but if somebody can't stop smoking, it really doesn't matter whether we call it addiction or psychological dependence.

The thing about pot is, smoking it at work, or in the middle of a day, is the same as drinking alcohol, but worse still, as you unlike alcholic drinks, it doesn't taste good. So it can't be compared with having a beer with a ball game, so, if you smoke pot, you're a loser.

I quit smoking tobacco without hurting my body. All that happened was I was pissed off for a few days. Don't know about chronic pot smokers, but I can't imagine it's less severe psychologically. People seem to think that psychological dependence is somehow a milder form of habituation. It's not necessarily true.

Stop crying...if you can't hang out with your friends because they smoke bud, then don't hang out with them...make new friends. It's not hard.

BTW, it's really shallow IMO to not hang out with someone because they smoke bud...

I love it how every topic is treated like a jokeimetamonster
because, as others pointed out, it's your friends that are the problem, not pot. i'm an adult. have friends who partake, some of them are PhD physicists that do breakthrough research. some are lawyers. some are in politics. some just hold up normal business jobs. all of them are still great friends. teenagers do stupid things. maybe it's time to look for better friends or give your friends some space - or man up and tell them they're letting you down and how. but in my experience, holding responsibility over your teenage friends heads doesn't work out well.

BS, what addictive substances does it contain?

You get addictive because it releases endorphins in your body, in other words a good feeling. You also get a certain feeling or feelings by smoke pot, over time you can get addicted to these feelings. Cigarettes are physically addictive, because of nicotine

But I like the taste. I would argue that your first sip of beer tastes worse than your first breathe of pot. After a while they both taste good so it's a win win situation.

Like irritability or confusion? Try weaning a kid of refined sugar. It's not physically addictive (apparently), but the body habituates to a pattern of intake, which it's later hard to get out of without ill effects. The physical/psychological dependence distinction isn't a very useful one in most cases.

Weed is NOT physically addictive...it's a mental addiction. Other drugs, like nicotine (cigarettes), heroin, and cocaine can become a physical addiction after six months or so.

Alcohol, I'm not sure of, but I assume it's a physical addiction. Actually, I just looked it up, it can turn into a physical addiction, much like the others, after some time.

Smoking to get high makes you a loser, drinking by yourself alone to get drunk, or with a few friends in the basement makes you a loser. Drinking at a social event, then I'll make an exception and call it social. So you might then, hey, so smoking then would not make you a loser? But why the **** smoke pot when you can drink? i'm not the one with learning to do. you have some serious misconception mate. alcohol is the addictive substance. any by-products or additional chemical reactions stem from the substance. what you just said is totally ridiculous. it's like saying the internal chemical reactions that take place after using say, cocaine, are the addictive substance and not the cocaine itself. cause. effect. learn to differentiate.

Yeah. Irritability and confusion can easily be attributed to psychosomatic causes.

[QUOTE="gobo212"][QUOTE="Dark-Sithious"]The thing about pot is, smoking it at work, or in the middle of a day, is the same as drinking alcohol, but worse still, as you unlike alcholic drinks, it doesn't taste good. So it can't be compared with having a beer with a ball game, so, if you smoke pot, you're a loser.Dark-Sithious

Logic isn't your strong suit eh?

Smoking to get high makes you a loser, drinking by yourself alone to get drunk, or with a few friends in the basement makes you a loser. Drinking at a social event, then I'll make an exception and call it social. So you might then, hey, so smoking then would not make you a loser? But why the **** smoke pot when you can drink? Nothing screams buzz kill like a few stoned out guys sitting in a coach and being boring like ****.

"Loser" is subjective. Why does it bother you if they want to sit on the couch and get high. It is obviously not boring to them. Drinking in social situations is OK but smoking in social situations isn't? Give me a break.

Loser

"a person who has failed at a particular activity: a loser at marriage." That's harsh.

Loser

Well if we are going by the dictionary than smoking pot can not possibly make someone a "loser."

It all depends on the loser. Different people are different. Your experiences are not universal. And I'm not a loser :x Who are you to tell me what I can and can't do? Darl-Sithious: "Oh, it's okay if it's a ball-game, I guess"

Personally I think you're a loser if you drink to a ball game, but that's just me. But I can see how some fancy the taste and only drink a couple of beers. People who have to go out and drink every weekend to have fun, are losers. People who smoke pot or drink when they come home, are losers. And the biggest losers are the ones who smoke and or drink at work are the biggest losers.

And Darl? lulz

But yes, my experiences are universal, I am always right. But let me ask you this, you think the guys, which the TC speaks of, who goes hiding in their garage to smoke pot in the middle of the day are winners of society?

No, I think they're teenagers. What do you do for fun, anyway? I see you're against additives.

[QUOTE="Dark-Sithious"][QUOTE="3picuri3"] are you ******* ******* me? Alcoholism. google mate. the addictive substance is ******* alcohol. there are bodies of research on this, enough to bury you and your house and half your neighborhood in white papers.3picuri3

It's addictive because the feeling it creates, learn to read, it is all stated above

i'm not the one with learning to do. you have some serious misconception mate. alcohol is the addictive substance. any by-products or additional chemical reactions stem from the substance. what you just said is totally ridiculous. it's like saying the internal chemical reactions that take place after using say, cocaine, are the addictive substance and not the cocaine itself. cause. effect. learn to differentiate.

If that's what you call physical addiction I admit defeat, but I would call pot addictive in the same sense as alcohol, but to a lesser extent.

So you would be happy if your son smoked or drank alchohol in the middle of the day, then coming home and being completly wasted/stoned?

Either way, even if you're a teenager smoking pot is an idiotic activity, and you could get addicted to the feeling of being high/stoned. Waste of monies, time, and it'll increase the chances of getting cancer.

If you want a great feeling, why not go to the gym? It also releases endorphines and it's healthy for you. You'll feel better, look better and that feeling won't go away just after a few hours.
