rap today hmmmm.....

this past couple of months and months to come there is some good rap, but all the good rappers are the ones that were rapping back in the 90's, like Nas, Jay-z, The Game, Dmx, Dr Dre, Eminem (hopefully album is like his older ones), Ice cube. these are the rappers that are keeping rap "old school" which is the best thing to do for rap music. All the rappers "now a days" just rap about sex drugs and guns, but rapping about them can be a good thing if used in the right way, like eminem he makes it funny. ( Old skol Rap FTW ) we need more people like them, n.w.a, public enemy, sugar hill gang, grandmaster flesh, non of this chart rap :(
Also when you said about rap being good, you could of mentioned good rappers :)

If you think all the best rappers out nowadays are old ones, you are either not listening to the rap that is coming out nowadays, or you are just stuck living in the 90's....

Sorry you say you have fallen into the trend.

My first tunes were the fat boys the people from the disorderlys 80s comedy movie, it was a rap tape i found at a beach lol when i was a kid...then i started listening to guns n roses then that got me into metallica and then pantera/anthrax.

metal is my type of music and been that for 20 some years....some rap is alright the old school...but these new rappers sucks.

And this is a bad thing. Why is someone made by a vocoder making money, when bands and even other rappers with real talent arent'? I blame parents for not teaching their kids good music, but they also shouldn't force their music on them.

xboxplayer1990

Well judging from your name "RushMetallica" you have bad taste in music anyway. It's all about club music and slow jams man.

Are you serious? Rush and Metallica have more talent than every rapper you named put together.

Please no....you don't know good hip hop, and HAHAHHAHAHHAHAHA @ Lil Wayne being a good if you could call him an "artist". Good hip hop is old hip hop...there is no music that it is "where it's at"...most are comming out with worse and worse music.

Your so called "good hip hop" is overrated boringness. What makes it good? Lyrics? Lyrics are THE most overrated thing ever. Who says most people wanna listen to someone elses life story? Most people want lyrics about beer, drugs, and sex. Something most people can relate to. Not a boring beat with someone saying they grew up tough.

is it safe to say this is a joke topic?

(I bet the user admitted by now)

AlphaRail

Blu isn't mainstream in the sense that he gets play on TV and radio, but for a hip-hop fan like you who uses online resources (obviously since you are on an online forum).... Blu has been all over the biggest hip-hop sites on the net like Allhiphop, SOHH, hiphopsite, HipHopDX, xxlmag, UGHH, he had a Myspace album premiere, and all the big blogs like nahright, 2dopeboyz, Byroncrawford, dallaspenn, and smokingsection covered him. His stuff is right in front of everyone if you actually follow hip-hop and keep up to date with it.

He's even been mentioned on Gamespot quite a long time ago ;)

this past couple of months and months to come there is some good rap, but all the good rappers are the ones that were rapping back in the 90's, like Nas, Jay-z, The Game, Dmx, Dr Dre, Eminem (hopefully album is like his older ones), Ice cube. these are the rappers that are keeping rap "old school" which is the best thing to do for rap music.

Blu & Exile- "Dancing in the Rain"

Blu & Exile- "My World Is"

Blu & Exile- "Narrow Path"

I do listen to now days rap but i dont think its any where near as good as old rap, where the meanings of the songs where actualy good and not just "i ****ed ya *****" over and over

Like I said, if you think the songs coming out nowadays are all "I ****ed ya *****" then you obviously aren't paying attention to the music coming out nowadays :|

theyre not looking hard enough, thats the problem.

as you and a lot of others know, its all about looking around, and you'll always find great hip-hop.

Same with rock and metal.

Those are great artists...

Truly...

I mean, if you enjoy the same drivel and shallow beats being shoved into the listening public's ears for the past few years, then yeah. These guys? Class acts.

[QUOTE="xboxplayer1990"]Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Young Jeezy, Ludacris, T.I. and T-Pain rule the music world now. No one wants that silly screamo and growling. Classic Rock will always live on but rap is the future of musicWSP87

Lil wayne is over hyped and he is terrible, Kanye West is a whiny punk, Young Jeezy is average at best, Ludacris hasn't had a good song since blueberry yum yum, T.I... Seriously? T.I.? And T-Pain is just another rapper in a world of rappers who are here and then vanish into the night with there handfull of "hits".

Rap as it is today is probably the worst thing that could have happened to music. It's trashy and disrespectful and I can't believe people fall into this garbage.

I know all it tells you is to become a gangster an join some sort of gang, it has ruin Martin Luther Kings time trying to make peace, it causes people to become seperate, not together. Kids shouldn't liston to those violent rap music. Rap is not the future music, a new type of music would come out in the future.
