I was doing my own study and heres what i came up with...Ok i say Religion is healthier and more safe then Science because my sources are backing it up.

we have the pros and cons of both ofcourse

Pros of Religion: To have faith in something out there, certain religion less likely to kill people because they dont want to go to hell, keeps a healthier mind to "pray" and have something to look foward to when dying instead of just plain old dying.

Cons of Religion: The people who believe when that they can kill people as long as its for a good cause "in their opinion" and bring them closer to god..im speaking about terrorists that are very religious..and not just middle eastern

Pros in Science: bringing us foward in present life and certain futures with technology, history that is explained scientifically keeps us busy reading and watching the history of earth and such

Cons in Science: Too much knowledge is Failure, scientifically there was no reports of most diseases that are present today, and i question that why is such a natural thing to do "mating" can cause death..i am talking about the hiv virus, people with no belief in afterlife tend to cause more crimes "yes i looked it up"

if anyone would like to add anything please do..no i am not trolling just a simple study

I'd like to add that without science, you'd probably sitting in a puddle, waiting for an early death. Just a thought.

Also, I don't get why it's made out as though the two have to be mutually exclusive.

[BOLD 1] That's called a scare tactic. You just want to avoid punishment, but what if there was no punishment? Many times scare tactics don't even work, cause will still do bad even when they are fully aware of the consequences.

[BOLD 2] Does your source give a reason?

science does not disprove religion. In many ways it proves it. The diff between religions and atheist is they all use similar evidence but have diff opinions

There doesn't have to be this divide that ethics is the exclusive realm of religion and knowledge is the product of a grim, soulless machine called science. Atheists are not monsters and religious types needn't live in isolated, farmsteads.

Of course we weren't around. All of that stuff happened a long ass time ago. But there is evidence. You want the evidence you talk to someone who specializes in a field of science relevant to the question you are asking.

[QUOTE="MattUD1"][QUOTE="cee1gee"][QUOTE="fatzebra"] Oh so the theory of god is 100% true? The religious god is true? Which out of the 10,000 is the right one? Please, tell me.

No..ofcourse it isnt 100 percent true, but what i am saying is to have a belief in afterlife is Much healthier and what i have studied is more people that werent scientifically advanced have had healthier minds... just look at the civilization today...many are suffering from depression and anxiety, there is rarely someone with a clear mind now a days..

So... the reason why people are depressed is because they believe in the powers of science...? Am I reading this right?

The scientific benefits that we have come with major flaws, just ask the people who were born in 1940s..the simple days (technology wise)

[QUOTE="fatzebra"] That's like saying "Well IDK BOUT U GUIES BUT I LOVE PEEING ON MY OWN FEET"fatzebra

Again.... what? :|

If one is going to try mixing science in to religious beliefs, one might as well pee on ones own feet.

I think I saw that thread about peeing in the shower. :D

Seriously though, there are many Scientists who also believe in God. Someone can believe in both and many people do actually.
