And no...Bush did not lie to us. He was just misinformed...and too stupid to realize that. And no, I didn't vote for Bush. ;)

Well... Before the invation The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) clearly stated that there where no WMD:s in Iraq. They should know as they had been there for 10 years supervising their destruction. So USA had their chief fired.
The proofs that was mentioned was:
1: Imported aluminium tubes. USA claimed they where used to construct missiles. False
2: The "mobile chemical factories". Any sane person could see it's was just a wacky excuse. False
3: A secret informer. That secret informer was a taxi driver in Germany, codenamed "Curveball"
CIA where warned by their own operatives in Germany that this informer was probably lying and that he had psychological problems.
With these proofs, USA invaded Iraq.
I see three alternative explanations.
1: CIA is the most incompetent and stupid intelligence organisation in existence. I doubt that.
2: CIA knowingly sent false information to the administration to provoke an invasion. I doubt it.
3: The administration asked for any proof, whether true or false, just to have an excuse to invade. The most probable explanation, to me.
So yes, i firmly believe that Bush or some other part of the administration lied. It's the only logical explanation.
