but jesus DIED for your sins. are you saying that it was for nothing?sins are forgiven if you repent for them.
I dont come up with this logic.
Pikdum
It means forgiveness is being offered to you, you just have to accept it. Anyone who calls themselves a christian and says otherwise is a heretic.
but then since god is responsible for everything, he made the world way too big. some people will never here about jesus in their life and go to hell for it. in the context that jesus died for sins and everyone is saved, it makes god look better. It means forgiveness is being offered to you, you just have to accept it. Anyone who calls themselves a christian and says otherwise is a heretic.

To be forgiven of your sins you have to first acknowledge you sins. I guess you could say he gave us the option.
Thats what I was taught in bible school anyways. I'm not religious anymore.

Why can't you forgive them for being heretics? "Do not judge others, and you will not be judged."
No Christian believes one can continue to sin after being converted/baptised that is simply not what the new testament or tradition teach us. I think the 1st Epistle of Saint John makes this plainly clear as do the words of Paul, we must be pure we must be icons to the world we must show the spirit of God therein. We cannot serve Christ and Satan, but we see a paradox, Christians still sin and this is where repentance comes in, that we must repent before all things till we draw our last breath before the final final judgement. Now when it comes to hell I can't speak for every Christian but when I read the gospels I do not see hell as being some place other than where we will all be during the ressurection, that is Daniel 12 clearly speaks of the ressurected dead, every one will be raised, the righteous and the unrighteous, some to everlasting life and some unto damnation. This is the Hell or gehenna we see, I do not think it will be physical torture some thing much more deep. On a fundamental level there will be intense suffering for those who have rejected God and he will cast them away from him. This is hell, at least from what I understand as the Orthodox conception of Hell.
It means God screwed us into eternal servitude by killing his only son beause he "Loves" us.
No backsies.

I didn't say I don't forgive them, but they won't find salvation in anything but accepting the blood of Jesus. It pains me to see people who almost have it right, but try and add something to it or take something away. It doesn't work that way.[QUOTE="cheese_game619"]i love jesusVictorious_FizeBut you hate religion?

He killed his only son. We are all his children. We are all women.

In a VERY condensed nustshell, it means that all Gentiles have the opportunity to join in the same convenant that God began with the Jews. It means that being baptized and believing in the power of the blood of Jesus Christ will MAKE YOU A NEW CREATURE. This means you just don't go around sinning willy nilly without repercussions.
God does punish sin, even though he forgives them. Also, once someone does accept Christ as Lord, they are representatives of the true and living God(the salt of the earth) and must behave as such. Additionally, it means you get to live forever in heaven after death.
Again, VERY condensed.
[QUOTE="JustBeYourself"][QUOTE="ZumaJones07"] is hell even real to begin with? there doesn't seem to be a point to it because god forgave everybody through the holy ghost through jesus. like the ten commandments, those things on there tell you want you should not do, but if sins are forgiven, then it shouldn't matter..ZumaJones07Christians can ask for forgiveness and be forgiven because Jesus sacrificed himself on the cross. so then god knowingly made a world that would turn into a world where his creations would not know of his warning? that's odd. god had to know that people born in other countries might not get the chance to hear of jesus. that's why the all sins are forgiven is a good trump card.
I dont think the bible ever exactly says you go to heaven if you have never heard of Jesus. But I remember a verse that says: "It is better to not have known the word of god than to HAVE known the word of god and deny it." or something close to that.

Actually yes it does...two thing. About never hearing of God the homie paul says
Romans 1:18-23
18But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness.[i]19They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them.20For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities?his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.
21Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn?t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused.22Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools.23And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles.
And jesus says the ONLY way to heaven is through knowing Christ:
John 14:6
6Jesus told him, ?I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.
-----
So what the bible does say is that you only get to heaven through Christ, and there is no reason for never hearing of God.

No offence, but the Bold sentence sounds like complete bull$hit.
We should seriously consider whether the decline in religion and the decline in the use of psychedelics in religious observations are connected. His death means the Roman Empire was pissed at his cult of 12 shroom eating hippies and a prostitute

Yeah the logic behind it is flawed. "Who created the universe and everything in it?" "This dude in the sky" "How can we be sure he's real?" "How can you not tell? He made everything!" "Oh well he must exist!" lolwut?he always seemed a bit dramatic to me was jesus the first emo?He died to keep you from making so many damn topics

i think i am confused. i thought since jesus died, that humans were forgiven for ALL their sins no matter what? it seems like all you have to do is get baptized, eat jesus bread and drink jesus blood and all is good? is hell even real to begin with? there doesn't seem to be a point to it because god forgave everybody through the holy ghost through jesus. like the ten commandments, those things on there tell you want you should not do, but if sins are forgiven, then it shouldn't matter. maybe god just wanted everyone to live their lives as humans so they don't have to worry about the mistake of sin that god put into the world to begin with. tl:dr should christians really have to do anything to get into heaven? it seems like the ticket is guaranteed.ZumaJones07
No, because it's all a LIE! When will people wake up, there are so many contradictions and inaccuracies in these bible stories.

That said, all I did was clarify a point that a poster made that he was unsure about.
It's no big secret that you can't consistently use human logic to explain the divine.
