I did,but I stopped because it was so boring.

[QUOTE="-Big_Red-"][QUOTE="GrabTheYayo"]dude, when you focus on strength. why the need to run from somebody when you can destroy them with pure power?;)What if you're running from someone/something that could destroy you, but can't catch you? What if you're chasing someone? What if you're playing paintball and you have to get from cover point to cover point quickly. What if you're chasing someone who stole your wallet/GF's purse? What if you're being chased by an angry mob with baseball bats, and pitchforks? What if you're playing unorganized pick up and play football? doing leg workouts will increase explosive speed without a doubt. and just because you dont run cardio every day doesnt mean you cant run at all I know, I'm not talking about doing hardcore cardio like distance runners, but a little wouldn't hurt.Stanley09

Well some1 having a go at you over your posts about height and physical attributes
Is there an issue with my posts?about your sig...is that the guy with the GSP profile pick? LOL I can neither confirm nor deny such things as an alt was used to say what is in my sig. But I think you are a very intelligent userlast time i checked ppl who work out live longer then ppl who dont...Then people should have lived to be 150 in the 1700s, when you worked out all day, every day.[QUOTE="aransom"]
I don't work out. Your heart is good for a finite amount of beats, so why waste them exercising?

They didn't have the kind of advances in the medial field that we do today. You could die of the flu back then.[QUOTE="GrabTheYayo"]

You could die of the flu back then.I'm just making the point that longevity has a lot more factors than just exercise. You can find people that eat right, exercise, and die at 50 anyway. You can find 90 year olds that smoke, drink, eat red meat every day and never exercised once.[QUOTE="aransom"]

You can find 90 year olds that smoke, drink, eat red meat every day and never exercised once. True. But excercise doesn't hurt.I haven't gone to the gym in almost three weeks now, lol. That's actually because it's been closed for the holidays and construction though. Before then I was going at least 3 days a week, doing interval training on the treadmill for an hour or so.We recently got some equipment, so it'll be a nice change of pace from having to go all the way to my university gym.
I do regularly. I run a lot. Training for a marathon. I signed up for the NYC marathon, but it's a lottery. I may try to qualify by time, but that's pretty tough.
I get my cardio from hockey, which is 3-5 days a week
and I lift heavy 4 days a week. Bench 185lb , squat 225lb, amd deadlift 245lb... all for 4-6 reps.

Just a question, how many sets should you usually do for each exercise? I do 3 sets for each exercise ranging from 6-8 reps. I'm doing my max weight for each set, so is 3 sets enough?

I found this site a while ago and I bookmarked it. The number of reps and sets is up to you, but it's a common thing to go light=many reps or heavy-few reps (3-5).I did for awhile, but manly ab workouts, leg workouts, and ALOT of running. Pfffft of course I work out. I didn't know how to answer the question though. I do more than just stay in shape, but I'm not a body builder either. I have a very lean, tone body, and I like to keep it that way. I don't like the overly muscular look.
But, I do a little something like this (note: each lift I do 4 sets of 12 of medium weight...each day I run 2 miles before weights):
Monday - Legs and lower body, 5 lifts
Tuesday - Chest and biceps, 7 lifts
Wednesday - Triceps and abs, 7 lifts
Thursday - Shoulders, 4 lifts
Friday - Back, 4 lifts
Saturady and Sunday = rest days.
The trick I found to getting tone fast is a proper diet, a good mass gainer (if you are looking to gain), and vitamins. Just keep with it. Lose fat first though, because building muscle with fat over the muscle will just make you look bigger.
