I would like to add The Four Horsemen and No Remorse. Also, Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb has an epic solo.

I also thought the Eruption solo by Eddie Van Halen was awesome.

Since I've Been Loving You by Led Zeppelin has one of my favorite solos.

Starts at 3:40.

THIS!!!!! Fade to Black has the best guitar solo ever.

Also One's solo is really cool. It's not as long but it's extremely fast.

Anyways, heres some other greats:

The Outlaws-Green Grass and High Tides (First solo at 2:24 second at 5:33. Songs is better than Freebird IMO)

Stevie Ray Vaughn-Little Wing (It is criminal that this hasn't been mentioned yet, seriously.)

Stevie Ray Vaughn-Texas Flood (Live at El Mocambo) (Most amazing performance ever I swear)

John Butler Trio-Ocean (Amazing acoustic guitar piece right there and his playing is so unique at least on an acoustic guitar)

Justin King-Larivee (Just badass acoustic guitarness)

Reverand Horton Heat-Psychobilly Freakout (Just awesome guitar playing)

Buckethead-Soothsayer (This song proves that Buckethead can have emotion in his playing)

Hmmmm. Dio has some great guitar solos, but they aren't really 'epic.' Black Sabbath had some good long ones. Hmmmmm. I suppose Beyond Twilight had some nice ones. As did Threshold. Yeah, try Threshold and Beyond Twilight.
