[QUOTE="gameguy6700"]

I was never terribly religious. I believed in Christianity though, but as I learned in my teen years I didn't know nearly as much about the religion as I thought I did, and as I learned more the less and less I liked about it. I started having doubts in my junior or senior year of high school though I still believed. However, close to the start of my freshman year of college I started really questioning the religion and by the end of my freshman year I was an atheist.

When you question it, do you ask some buddy about it, or attempted to look for the answers, or just question?

When I say "question" I mean that I took a critical examination of the religion. Whereas before I had nagging questions that I essentially shrugged off or tried to find answer that would keep me beliving somehow, during freshman year I actually took a more unbiased, critical approach during my first year of college. The result for me was that I found the religion didn't really make a lot of sense, that there really wasn't much evidence for it, and that it was far easier for me to disprove things about it than to prove them.

I am a Christian. Very often I entertain the thought of becoming and Atheist, but one thing I think about keeps me in the faith. That is if your wrong you go to Hell, and if I'm wrong it is no big deal b/c we become nothing.

I could never believe in a religeon that preaches if you don't believe, and expecially if you don't believe in a specific religeon, you're going to hell. That sounds more like self righteous bullying to me and there's no way I could believe in a God that promotes that kind of selfish behavior.

I used to believe when I was small, but now it just makes no sense, and seems incredibly far-fetched!

True, but at the same time, the universe itself seems extremeley far fetched as well.

I haven't. Too much evidence around me think He doesn't exist. Not too mention the fact that we talk every day or almost every day. Trying to convince me God doesn't exist would be trying to convince me my parents aren't real.

To say that God is sovereign, is to declare that He is the Almighty, the Possessor of all power in heaven and earth—so that none can . . .
defeat His counsels,
thwart His purpose,
or resist His will.

Whatever takes place in time—is but the outworking of that which He has decreed in eternity.

The sovereignty of the God of Scripture, is . . .
absolute,
irresistible
and infinite!

We insist that God does . . .
as He pleases,
only as He pleases,
always as He pleases!

"But our God is in the heavens—He has done whatever He has pleased!" Psalm 115:3

"The Lord does whatever pleases Him, in the heavens and on the earth, in the seas and all their depths!" Psalm 135:6

I never really believed properly. I just remember being told about God and Jesus and all that as a kid, but I just couldn't relate what I was being told to the world around me. By my early teens I became fairly convinced that God did not exist. In my mid teens, I accepted that the universe and beyond is too complex for humans to understand, and that in theory, God could exist, but that it was still a farfetched, man-made concept. But I respect that people have their own beliefs, and as long as they don't deliberately try to create conflict, I will return the favour. Sadly it often doesn't work out like that, seeing as most organised religions don't like my kind, but I'm more than used to it.

I stopped believing when I was 12 or 13.
