It has been confirmed:Seemed to have little info there. Are we sure it's Episode VII? Or is it some kind of spinoff//sub-series?

Kathleen Kennedy, current Co-Chairman of Lucasfilm, will become President of Lucasfilm, reporting to Walt Disney Studios Chairman Alan Horn. Additionally she will serve as the brand manager for Star Wars, working directly with Disneys global lines of business to build, further integrate, and maximize the value of this global franchise. Ms. Kennedy will serve as executive producer on new Star Wars feature films, with George Lucas serving as creative consultant. Star Wars Episode 7 is targeted for release in 2015, with more feature films expected to continue the Star Wars saga and grow the franchise well into the future.Press Release
If it's out of Lucas' hands, then I'm slightly optimistic. Maybe they should just rewrite the prequels while they're at it.People should be thrilled about this. Fans have been begging for the film to be out of Lucas' hands for a decade now.

There's no reason to be "thrilled" about this. Lucas has minor say in this, yes, but it's still in the hands of people that intend to milk the series.People should be thrilled about this. Fans have been begging for the film to be out of Lucas' hands for a decade now.

How is everyone **** about Star Wars being taken out of the hands of Sith Lord Lucas? I trust Disney to hire competent directors and staff to helm Star Wars (Joss Whedon) than Lucas.

At first I was like WHOA!...
... and then I was like wHoA!
... and then I was like... whoaaaa!
I should have predicted this. I mean really. The way Lucas has been mlking his franchise... it makes sense. The only problem is that it took Disney to get that extra bit of milk out of it.
Frankly, I feel the teat from which such an effort is being squeezed is already saggy and running dry.

Is it just Lucasfilm LTD or all of Star Wars? Does this have any influence on 1313 at all? I was really looking forward to that...
Baranga
The whole Lucas empire, including LucasArts, Lucasfilm LTD, ILM and Skywalker Sound.
And Indiana Jones:P
I hope this doesn't mess with any of LucasArts games... I also hope that Battlefront 3 will be published by Disney.

Hmmm...they ruined Indy with aliens, so how will they ruin Star Wars?
I bet movie goers are going to be really skeptical this time around. I know I'm going to be.At first I was like WHOA!...

a film about the Yuzhan Vong
FFS, not another movie to ruin the orignals even more. It could be great like the orignals, but most likly be CGI filled garbage. I love the orignal films, but the prequals are meh, they have some fun action scenes, but dam the characters and overall film are so boring. Please make it good!

Dude that would be sick don't be a hater...
If its as good as episode 3 then ok. Original trilogy is overrated.Capitan_KidEpisode 3 was no better than the other prequel films.

I disagree with that one. Episode III is my second favorite of all six movies. Only Episode V overtakes it.
Still, I can't say I am terribly excited. I would be if I knew Ep. VII would be great, but instead my inner Padawan senses something elsewhere... elusive.

Really? I just don't understand the appeal. Tons of awful, boring dialogue, boring extended CGI sequences, and the ridiculously long and stupid Anakin/Obi Wan fight just turned me off. Not to mention the comically bad "NOOOOOOO!" at the end. Please Log In to post.
