There would be basically no pain, since it ends so quickly, but causes so much physical and psychological pain for hundreds to thousands of others. That's why I think it is extremely cowardly.

More than likely chechen rebels.. they pretty much stirred up the hornets nest with this one, the Russians don't care about law, human rights or any of the such when matters like these arise. They will hunt down and killed chechen rebels like dogs.. no mecry, and every means possible to get information no matter what.

Espada12

Indeed. There will most likely be genocide in Chechnya, and the rest of the world probably won't give a ****.

There has been a genocide in Chechnya for the last 15 years, and nobody in the west even knows about it.

You obviously can't tell the difference between war and genocide. Russia has never wanted the Chechen people gone, it invade both times to to stop violence and separatism. You can say the war was unjust if you wish, but it was not a genocide.

they may not be specificlly targeting them for being chechens, but they are completely indiscriminate towards them. The first time they invaded Grozny 35,000 civilians died in the span of just several weeks.

baseless assumptions about a population you dont know, good job. most americans are bleeding hearts and damn near cry if they see a dead animal in the road, these people give more money to charity then damn near the rest of the world combined. you may assume people in the west are uncaring and i cant speak for anyone outside of my country but we are the worlds humanitarians

sure their are some good and caring people everywhere but i really didnt see any bleeding hearts for thousands killed in iraq, afghanistan, pakistan, chechnya and many other places. i think it would be safe to assume most people don't care.

That's war, there will be collateral damage, no matter how regrettable it may be. Besides, Grozny was not exactly a peaceful place, militants were numerous.

i dont think that is a safe assumption at all, we were attacked and most people that support the war here dont support killing random people they only want the terrorists dead, but im sure youre now going to defend the actions of 9/11 and try to say how cunning the plan was......

Their werent when this war began. This conflict wasnt even about militism or terrorism until the russians turned it into that. It was the Russian invasion of Grozny that began this conflict. Not terrorism.

If you kill 35,000 people (actually its a hell of a lot more then that, probably near 200,000 at this point) expect revenge attacks, its as simple as that.

Killing yourself doesn't take courage, you just pull the trigger/push the button and your out. No more pain, no more anything. Going on living with the consequences of your actions takes courage.

When I mentioned genocide, I meant outright extermination, not just negligence on the part of the Russian military. The civilian casualties from the first two wars were just collateral damage, but I think the Russians might go all the way this time. There won't be anyone left to take revenge.
