[QUOTE="psychobrew"][QUOTE="Funky_Llama"]This interpretation of the big bang is so bad it made me bleed out of my ears. :/

Funky_Llama

Ok, mass was was never introduced in to this universe. What are we then?

What are we? Em, could you clarify that question?

It was a point, not a question.

The big bang hasn't been proven at all, there's no evidence from the past telling us when it happened scientists just assumed that it did... so yeah, it's a theory.

-Russ93

Actually, there is evidence for the Big Bang Theory. :|

[QUOTE="Captain_Swosh69"] and where was the space time take take place precedence of the singularity? one does not simply just happen to be there, present. what, the singularity jump from a void into a 'place' then explodes??? and yes, it explodes, thats how it expands. i cant believe some would even suggests that the particle didnt explode. oh i get it. it got fat, thus expanding time and space. it didnt explode. hahaha. it explodes.

Standard English would help a great deal; if you can rephrase it in that language, I'll try to respond. "hahaha"

[QUOTE="Crazyguy105"]

Then what was it?

I never looked into this.

Crazyguy105

A rapid expansion of the universe. When something explodes, it explodes into existing space, but with the big bang space itself expanded.

Ah. I highly doubt that.

It seems very unlikely and just sounds weird.

ust because something sounds weird does not mean it didn;t or doesn;t happen. Do particles drifting in and out of reality sound weird? How about information that passes from one place to another without traversing the space in between? Does that sound weird? Both these things are known to happen in the quantum universe.

I too believe it's bogus.

It is my clear belief that the world was created in exactly 7 days in which the skies and the earth were first to be created followed by a succession of other creations up until the seventh day when he rested. He then created man, Adam and then grew the garden of Eden which included the tree of the science of good and evil. He put the man in the garden for him to grow it and forbid the man to eat its fruits. Having noticed there was no creature that was similar to man, he created the woman, Eve. Then they disobey Elohim and eat the tree's fruits and are therefore expels both of them from the Garden.

That's it.

Also, DARWIN WAS WRONG.

Thank you.

and where that original singularity came from has nothign to do with Big Bang Theory. Big Bang Theory posits only that matter and space/time began expanding from a hyperdense particle. This scientific theory came about as the evidences point in that direction. Hyperinflation of this early universe occurred in the first millionths of a second after the Bang occurred. Inflation of the universe is still occurring. Does this mean that matter travelled faster than light? No. Because space is travelling with it. The Einsteinian theory that matter can not travel faster than light only applies to matter travelling through space, not space travelling through a void.

The same way Newton was able to construct a theory of universal gravitation without considering the notion of gravitons, unified spacetime or general relativity; by making observations, creating hypotheses and finding non-trivial predictions that can be made from those hypotheses and seeing if those predictions match reality.

I find it funny how 98% of people who talk about the big bang theory have not thoroughly researched it and understand it properly rofl. includes TC.

Dr_Brocoli
Pretty much this.. I'd also like recommend to a lot of you to study what a scientific theory is before saying, "itz just a theory lolz".

What an absolutely amazing argument you have there. If you are arguign against evolution may I suggest you click on the link on my sig caleld the Genesis union? There is a plethora of information there and we need more creationists. The main point of that union is debatign evolution and creation.

Honestly, from that paragraph, I have no idea what the captain is discussing. Do you? If you can phrase it coherently, I'll attempt to respond. If not, I'll just assume that it was a cheap swipe.

Because the big bang theory doesn't try to explain those ingredients. They're a different issue entirely. What matters is we know that the universe began with the big bang, even if we don't know what caused it. Complaining about that is like denying that the dinosaurs become extinct because we don't know what killed them.

[QUOTE="BumFluff122"]What an absolutely amazing argument you have there. If you are arguign against evolution may I suggest you click on the link on my sig caleld the Genesis union? There is a plethora of information there and we need more creationists. The main point of that union is debatign evolution and creation.

what the big bang is since the universe is expanding, it had to come from a single point but you cant even tell where that point came from. ohh the big bang doesnt care about that. well, a single point doesnt make a universe, i'll tell you that. they have a term for that particle. its very dense obviously. and it explodes. but where it came from? nobody knows. whats the point of the big bang? where and how the universe came about? ohh b4 the particle is b4 space and time. cant help you there. ohh the big bang relies on something it cant explain. this particle had to come from somewhere. just had when people thought we and the universe had to come from somewhere.

[...] With our present knowledge of our own universe we can come to a conclusion backed by years of scientific study that has seen many thousands of different, testable theories to say that our Universe expanded about 13.7 billion years years ago and about 400,000 years after that the Universe had cooled enough for the formation of matter beyond a single proton. [...]Wasdie
This is what I could never wrap my mind around: the age of the universe. The scientific study and testable theories are based at least in part on readings and measurements taken of the observable universe with scientific instruments, right? Well, what will happen when one of our future instruments detects an object further away than we believe the universe is old? If it's further away than tolerances allow it could really throw a wrench into theories like the Big Bang. The first star we determine to be 15 billion light years away is going to be one big 'aww geeze' moment. :P It's bound to happen eventually as technology advances and we're able to expand what we know as the observable universe.

There are other theories that posit that original cause of the Big Bang. There is the cyclic universe models, string theory, vacuum fluctuations, ect...,ect... Hopefully you aren't trying to tell us that you know withotu a doubt that the original cause was a hyperintelligent being that lives outside fo space/time. If you are I would really like to see proof of your unswerving hypothesis.

[QUOTE="psychobrew"]

[QUOTE="Funky_Llama"]The big bang was the topic at hand. That was what he took it to mean. :/Funky_Llama

How can the big bang even be discussed without questioning how the ingredients needed to make it happen got here in the first place?

Because the big bang theory doesn't try to explain those ingredients. They're a different issue entirely. What matters is we know that the universe began with the big bang, even if we don't know what caused it. Complaining about that is like denying that the dinosaurs become extinct because we don't know what killed them.

No matter how you look at it, the ingredients are part of it. Without them, it doesn't happen. Understanding the ingredients would help with the understanding of the big bang. If the ingredients can't be explained, the foundation for the big bang theory itself is on shaky grounds and it needs to be re-evaluated.

We do not know that the universe started with a big bang. Evidence may point to that, but it's still circumstantial.
