The GiantBomb is about to blow!!

This isn't a post to advertise the site but i just went on their website this morning and it's completely different! Has a wood background with a picture of the bomb being ridden from that movie.. i forget what it's called, and says giantbomb will be landing soon!

(note i haven't given the website URL or 'bigged-it-up' at all, therefore.. not advertising. Just pointing out things have changed!

I'm not leaving, but if giant bomb lives up to expectations (which I think it will) it will become my main games website. I'll still come here, but alot less.

See, I am a forum user only... so I have no need for the new site... I'd just rather the activity here didn't slow down to a snails pace. Although maybe OT could do with an overhaul.

GiantBomb is a website launched by former gamespot employee's, Jeff Gerstmann and Ryan Davis. Since then they've hired Brad Shoemaker and Vince somthing.. can't remember his name. Anyway, it's a 4 man team living in San Franciso who since early this year have been designing a website, giantbomb, and in the meantime have given us bits of reviews, movies, and game coverage and hilarious podcasts. Really great guys who make gaming websites more personal!!

Anyway, as it's Sunday. One would assume they won't launch until tomorrow (Monday, start of the week) as they'll want to hype it up over today at least! So i wouldn't stay home for usernames today!

I come to gamespot to read the forums, and for the podcast. But since I hate Thor's guts ( And I'm 30% Norwegian too, who'd a thunk it ) and the giant bombcast is pretty damn funny PLUS the whole encyclopedia of game stuff on Giant Bomb really turns me on.

So long GS, although I still will come here for news possibly

Giantbomb's beta site launch isn't until Monday so don't expect to all have a fully working site for everyone to login to on Monday. A few weeks ago they announced in a podcast that if you sent an email and were lucky enough to get chosen you could become one of their beta site testers and be able to reserve your username. They have since announced, during their E3 coverage, that the beta site launch testing would occur the week after E3. Therefore if all goes to plan Monday should be the start of the Giantbomb beta site launch test and then depending on how that goes it shouldn't be long till the site is open to the public.

So to everyone saying "see you all around, i'm off to Giantbomb!" i wouldn't be too quick to say goodbye because you wont get in unless you've been chosen. Atleast thats my understanding of the situation.

Personally i will be still here on Gamespot and most likely on Giantbomb aswell as the two sites appeal to me.

Thanks for the info. I sent them an email a few weeks back asking to be a beta tester when they asked in the podcast, but have't heard anything back since. Am i the only one or have people been receiving emails to comfirm they are in the beta?

I too have applied to be a BETA tester but i haven't recieved an email back yet. My guess is tomorrow will be the day we find out more and if we've been lucky enough manage to get our login details and take part.
