[QUOTE="fiscope"]you are right about the lack of enthusiasm in the current Gamespot Staff. I may just switch over to GiantBomb, so long as the site has all the features gamespot has, like tracking, blogging, and forums...elektrixxx
well then I'm signing up! Any idea when it goes online?
I've been following Giantbomb.com since their blog site launched, knowing the beta site is about to launch in just a few hours is really exciting. These guys really know video games, the weekly podcasts are fun to listen too, and their E3 coverage was top notch. I've been a Gamespot member for 5 years now and have restrcited myself to only this site for my main source of video game reviews...not anymore. I hope to see other GS users on the other side, Gamespot has lost its touch, go to a site that is driven by actual gamers and not corporate big shots.
Peter Venkman to Ray in GB "See you on the other side Ray". See you on the other side guys!
Level 2? You only said hello.WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
GOOD BYE GAMESPOT.... IF YAH SMELL WHAT IM COOKIN!!!

Hello!
You're receiving this e-mail because you wrote in to one of Giant Bomb's e-mail addresses at some point in the past. Congratulations! That means you totally rate!
This e-mail is being sent to let you know that we're getting very close to the beta launch of giantbomb.com -- if you want to be extra-certain that you secure your username of choice, you should start taking occasional looks at the site to see if it's up yet. You will not receive a second e-mail from us, as we're solely focused on the site itself.
So what will you be able to do on Giant Bomb?
* Explore a database that already contains...
* Entries for over 72,000 releases.
* Pages for nearly 90,000 people involved in the creation of video games.
* Almost 600 character pages!
* Something like 580 pages for gaming franchises!
* Dude, I don't know, how about I just write "and much, much more" here and we move on?
Don't forget, you'll be able to edit and add to all of these things!
And of course, we'll have message boards. Tens of thousands of message boards! Way too many message boards! Everything from the PlayStation 3 to hamburgers will have a message board associated with it. In fact, every single page in the database, including consoles, franchises, games, objects, characters, people, and concepts will all have a friendly message board right at the bottom. But don't worry about getting lost or missing out on a conversation. Messages from all boards are easily found in our forum index.
Then there's the same ****of award-winning* editorial content from myself, Ryan, Brad, and Vinny. With the site up and running, we'll have even more time to provide reviews, commentary, and previews of the games you care about. Or, at least, the games _we_ care about.
* - not actually award-winning
Look, I could go on all day about this stuff, but I'll save some of it for the welcome letter that you'll find on giantbomb.com once we've launched. Thanks for taking an interest in us, and we think you'll go totally nuts when you see what we've been working on. I know we're all going totally nuts thinking about what you'll do with it once it's available.
xoxo,
Jeff GerstmannJeff
F5, F5, F5...C'mon! I want the username "Jesus".omfg_its_dally
I'm not so sure you want to do that :P
Oh come on. We all have gotten to know how these guys work. They stay up late :P They could easily be bringing the site up at midnight. Drinking plenty of energy drinks while they wait for 12.thalesa7x1
Not that hard to stay up till midnight, I start drinking energy drinks at midnight :P

Fine, I'll settle for "Rick Astley":P
Does anybody know for sure that this site is launching tonight? Wikipedia just says it will launch in the week of the 21st, but Wikipedia lies...
[QUOTE="GrammarKills"]Interesting now we get to see if they can compete with GS.fiscopeI think in time they may prove to be a harsh competitor. but you really cant predict these things too accurately at this point...
I think It'll take awhile before they're really that much of a threat.
jeff was a terrible reviewer, and big woop over giant bomb. I just go to like 4 different sites for a wide variety of opinions for news and reviews. pretty bad to go to a single site for reviews and news.
in fact, jeff said halo wars will be better than starcraft 2. lol 360 bias much?

He may be right. If I said Starcraft 2 will be better than Halo Wars, am I PC biased? Game review sites are all just means of staying informed on the happenings of the gaming world, you don't need to listen to the editorials and reviews. The best place to get reviews is metacritic.
