Sign of the times. Pro-Life also indicates a trend toward more people having less sex. The "Stay Teen" ads on GS are indicaing that also. And those "Purity Rings" the Jonas Brothers are wearing. Not such an incredible development when STD's AIDs, Birth Defects are getting problematic.

Maybe human beings are starting to think more reasonably? We're letting the horny 'little head' finally get overuled by the real head? About time!

If you look at the internals of the poll, pretty much all of the pro-choice -> pro-life movement was among Republicans and Republican-leaning independents. Given the lack of similar movement in people's thoughts about when abortion should or should not be legal, it's likely that this is more just a reflection of the fear that people have that Obama is "pro-abortion" than of some sort of fundamental shift in Americans' frame of mind.

This is sad for me. I was hoping we were getting more responsible(socially, emotionally, financially)about randomly jumping in the sack, and trying to curb the spread of sex diseases.

... Responsible to what ends? Humans are humans, we have certain drives to that our supposed best can not always stop from doing.. People love citing eras of earlier times quite nievely saying like the 1950s were the good old days.. Such claims are dillusions or nostalagia.. If anything people are far more responsible by today's standards than ever before.. Look at the pressure on all students on getting into college.. Most students aside from ones in struggling districts that are poverty stricken, see college as not a option.. Bu ta requirement to succeed..

Ironically enough, something cited as a source for the recent increase in teen pregnancy rates is abstinence-only sex ed (as was shown above), on account of the fact that the children going through it learn absolutely nothing about safe sex, birth control, and the like. Many programs hoping to achieve that end are actually ultimately counterproductive.

Surprised, but not really. Being pro-life is one of the reasons I label myself as an Independent and not a Democrat.
