No. That makes no sense - if we are to talk about things in the rational point of view, a physical thing is itself - not a "representation" of an "ideal." That is something that exists only in the mind of the viewer, not a thing inherent to something's existence.
You're contradicting yourself again.
A rational person will associate the male body with strength, because in general the male body is capable of great physical strength relative to what women are capable of. Physical strength is necessary to function in a physical world, and that is why it is rational to respect the capacity for physical strength - if you value life, then you respect the strength of body that makes it possible. There is no contradiction in what I am saying.
Unless physical strength of the body is not the most important aspect of being male or female. What use is physical strength in philosophy, science or politics?

This thread is kind of really silly. A lot of people still think Penis=Male=Masculine=Heterosexual, and when people deviate from that, they can face stigma. So of course, LGB people's struggles are caused by the same social forces as trans* people do with their struggles (and trans* folk can be LGB as well). People still hate on gay men because being gay is considered feminine to some, just like how trans women are often thought of as really gay men who take an extra step. That rather illogical and idiotic link of ideas was forged a long time ago, and it still persists. It obviously gets more complicated than that in terms of more precise struggles, but at their base, the reason why LGB people are stigmatized is roughly the same as why trans* people are.
I am gay and I don't think the T should be included. Its a WHOLE different issue, so I don't know why its being added to us. Being attracted to the same sex is a whole lot different issue than thinking you are a member the opposite sex. We dont choose to be gay. Nobody can prove we chose to either. However, we can prove that you were born a man or woman, so that is a choice to have a sex change. Its a fact.

I think the T is setting us back from progress because a whole different issue is being lumped in with us for no reason. . Our issue is a whole different matter, and not all gay people think having operations removing the gentilia you were born with is ok.Â
I'm gay and I agree, they're two completely different issues... But I'm totally fine with it being lumped in under the LGBT umbrella and fully support all transgender individuals.

It's not actually all that uncommon. Just because somebody is gay doesn't mean they have to be open minded.
The LGBT movement isn't quite so happily unified. You got folks who marginalize bisexuals because they think they aren't really gay or or just posers or they have it easier. Then you have bisexuals who think EVERYONE is bisexual. And of course, there are factions that hate the transpeople.
