no matter what, christians will not except the 'no evidence for his life'. that would mean that they worship a fairy tale... which is exactly what it is to everyone out side the christian bubble.Evolving_Jesusactually, not everyone who isn't a christian believes that jesus was a myth.
you have to realize that the people who dont believe that jesus actually existed are a very small minority. even smaller than the 9/11 conspiracy theorists
[QUOTE="bradleybhoy"][QUOTE="mig_killer2"][QUOTE="bradleybhoy"]you have to realize that jesus existing, being the son of god, and resurrecting from the dead is central to the faith.[QUOTE="mig_killer2"][QUOTE="bradleybhoy"]I went to churchwhenI was weeand I learned lots of good values, I think Christians should focus on that. If Jesus did or did not exist shouldn't be relevant. All these arguments over Christianity etc. etc. is God real blah blah blah, at the end of the day it's about being a good person. As for the origin of the world I'll have to look into that more. However you can't deny that Christianity was abused by a lot of people but that doesn't take away from the values it can teach.mig_killer2
Okay, but if you're supposed to have faith that these events occurred then why do a lot of christians look for truth or proof, is this not a lapse of faith? Why don't all these fundamental Christian just keep their faith and leave the rest of us alone!
the reason people try to find proof instead of taking it on faith(like me) is because our culture is greek. our people have fallen for the philosophy that everything that ever happens has a natural explaination.I'mguessing most Christians probably take it for granted that Jesus existed anyway.
could you explain that statement a little more for me? Im not sure if you're saying that we dont appreciate the fact that jesus existed, or that we dont believe ourselves that jesus existed.I mean that most Christians probably don't seek out solidproof or evidence of Jesus' exsitence themselves. And why should they, if they have faith.

there is some historical and physical evidence to prove that jesus did exist. stop saying he didn't exist. you have to realize that the group who believes in the jesus myth hypothesis is an extremely small minorityyou cant prove to me when Dionysis bday is.Evolving_Jesus
there is no evidence to suggest that horus' birthday or dionysis' birthday is on Dec 25th. Horus was the sun god. Jesus isn't the sun god. Jesus actually existed. This movie is taking BS and presenting it has historical fact, while at the same time taking historical fact and presenting it as BS.
Jesus is vividly recorded in the Gospels of matthew, mark, luke, and john, all of which were written by actual people353535355353535
no i mean as writing a person into history who did not exist..NOT A GOD...Jesus was a man let us remember that first..one step at a time you'll understand
lovemenow
ahh yes the simple question why cant God do it..Why cant people do it:|..stop being evil and stupid and follow God laws and maybe God would do something..
lovemenow
so are you saying for God to really love us then he must control everytrhing we dolike robots so we dont harm ourselves? does your mother loves you? does she lock youin your room and dont give you any money so wont go outside in which you can be harmed; Is your mother wont allow you to interact with other people because they might be a bad influence or does your mother show her love for you by giving you liberty to do things on your own and told you the consequenses of your action? so what kind of love do you prefer?
chat2
Nobody ever made the bold claim that my mother created the world, but for some crazy ass and poorly explained reason, did not make a Utopia where people are physically incapable of suffering.
14-15 pages and no evidence to contradict this movie yet... just a whole lot of wishy-washy jesus talk.Evolving_Jesus
You, sir, are just as ridiculously loyal to this movie to the point of denying all conflicting evidence as they are to the Bible. That is the grand irony of this whole thread.
no but that makes it all the more believable..i didn't know that...i mean what do you think would happen if a roman citizen started taking about a savior immediately after he was executed??? lovemenow
Well, since, according to the Bible that you are using as a basis for history, all kinds of crazy - let's just call it all "weather" - "weather" started happening and one of the soldiers said something like, "Truly this was the son of God," or something like that (won't be exact since it's all translation anyway), I think the answer to your question would be "not much."
Then again, M, M, L & J aren't even consistent with each other about what Jesus said on the cross, among other things:
John - "It is finished."
Mark - "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"
Luke - "Father, into my hands I commit my spirit."

woah, you are the first person to actually get it. and to comment on your other post, "I cant belive im arguing for both sides" that is such an awesome attitude. i wish more people would exercise that stand point. with that attitude humankind might rise to the truth faster then we will at the rate we are at today. and about your other post on consistence of the bible... what was written on that sign they put above jesus's head on the cross??? or did they hang it around his neck??? lol or... how many woman came to his tomb??? or... or... etc etc...no matter what, christians will not except the 'no evidence for his life'. that would mean that they worship a fairy tale... which is exactly what it is to everyone out side the christian bubble.Evolving_JesusYou sound like an igornant fanboy in system wars that think the ps3 "is teh gretest" by saying false things. Thanks for making system wars in OT with this crap
For a much better documentary on the similarities between world mythologies (including christianity) check out "Joseph Campbell and the Power of Myth with Bill Moyers"
the bible is not the only evidence to prove that jesus existed. while it is the only document that says he rose from the dead, there are records outside the new testament to prove jesus was in fact real.
Josephus mentions a man named jesus who was executed on the eve of passover by pontius pilate. you can find more in his testimonium flavinium. also, evolving jesus, not all athiests say jesus never existed.
also, pliny the younger, and tacitus mention early christians in their writings.
now onto the physical evidence. recently, a burial box was found with the words "james, son of joseph, brother of jesus"
you have to remember, that while their is little historical record about jesus, there is almost no historical record about anything from 1st century palestine because most of it was destroyed when the romans sacked the temple of soloman.
also remember, there is no historical evidence to prove that jesus did not exist

We all know how old Hinduism is, and how back the story of Krishna extended back. Well, you will notice EXACT plagarism in the Bible from Krishna, I'm talking about exact copying from many many verses, and then also another handful of verses that aren't word for word, but are still near identical.
That video is a jaw-dropper, so view it at your own risk.
I still see Jesus as the ultimate individual... It seems to me like his ultimate message was to be an individual, to resist authority, to resist the Roman Empire.KrayzieJ
And coincidently he is near identical to Dionysis, Krishna, Mithra, and many other historical figures that were worshipped, just how Christians view him as the Son of God when NO ONE should be compared among "God".
I'm not a muslim but I would agree more with their view of Jesus instead of a plagarism, again, view the link before your post :)
Off-topic but I love the Gamespot forums! Most active forums on the net? :D
this is very ironic and supericial. the government's participation in the 9/11 tradgy has no meaning. why would they murder 3000+ people to gain extra control and lower their morale?hell_blazer899
Because they've done so many times before, aka having a hint of Pearl Harbour but letting the Japanese attack so they can use this "propaganda" and indeed it helped many enthusiastic people sign up for the war, about a million.
They set up the Shah in Iran that killed thousands of people being a brutal dictator, of course, in this case all the U.S. cared about was having good relations with the Shah aka better economy (oil).
They supported Saddham when Iraq was going against Iran, of course, since allying with Iran who was run by Ruhollah Khomeini wouldnt help their economy (that's why Iran hates us to this date). Of course eventually they take action (oh...Israel told the U.S. that Iraq had Weapons of Mass Destruction, I wonder why...lol, Israel just wanted the U.S. to get involved in Middle-East)
Government/Politics run the world. Did I mention how many people we lost in Vietnam? Loss of lives is nothing (from the point of view of the government).
However I do not agree or disagree with the government being apart of 9/11, the conspiracy videos just have too much evidence, and on the other hand, my conscience thinks opposite. I'm neutral.

A lot of what he said in Part II was BS. Every news report he used as an intro was from Fox News or CNN, and we all know how credible they are :P Plus it's really easy to dub over what the news reporter is actually saying. Also, when he interviews the people on the street who all think they heard multiple explosions; that could just be them being scared in the heat of the moment. Who knows what was actually happening in there?
A lot of Part III intrigued me, however.-SiiLeNCE-
Fox News and CNN are hilarious, they start picking on Obama because he "smoked cigs"
