I don't get why some people are going 'America deports ILLEGAL immigrants, that means they're the Nazis'. Hitler victimized and legalized hatred and violence against Jews, America didn't. Nor did America slaughter 11 million illegal immigrants.

What should we do about illegal immigration?

SgtKevali

raid and remove them with state troopers

We don't know where they are or who they are. What's your answer to that?

we know where the majority of the illegal population is at, the border states, cali. and arizona specifically. Have Americans call for tips as to where they're at. If we can find fugitives we can find illegals believe me

To be fair, I didn't say they were Nazis, I merely said that in some way they were similar. I also think these types of comparisons and criticizims are necessary in order to keep something like that from happening again. We shouldn't wait until after people are getting killed to voice out against hatred.

[QUOTE="Tauruslink"] I already told you. Read it again. ;) And btw, some politicians ARE actually in favor of taking away the citizenship of LEGAL American citizens. They try to justify this by some claim that their parents were not from here.Tauruslink

We just have to enforce our laws.

That's nothing like the Holocaust or the Holodomor.

What part of SoCal are you from? What city?

I told you before, I'm in LA county. I'm not telling a complete stranger on the internet what city I'm from though. Lol.

It is"really" happening in Darfur right now...... Comparing the current anti-immigration laws to Nazi Germany is extremely far off. But, thinking we can deport a significant amount of the illegals currently here is, without tremendous cost, is not possible.

Lobby in Mexico for stricter drug trafficking penalties then.

The drug cartels are the ones with guns illegally entering out country and shooting people.

looks like that guy's shirt says legalize... probably talking about marijuana. if he doesn't have enough money, he probably shouldn't buy weed, which if he's wearing a shirt to legalize it, he probably smokes it, so he probably buys it.

There are about 3 million illegals in CA Estimated cost was $15 billion in CA (Saw earlier in the thread) Their economic output needs to be $5,000 for their actual "cost" to be non-existent anything greater would be positive contribution to the economy.

Then the output for each illegal to have a non-existent impact or positive impact on the economy would be even less than what I stated. Bottom line is illegals generally have a positive impact on the economy. The state will recoup their loses through tax revenue from the illegals economic output.

It's been that number for the past 10 years. How do they keep count anyways? Apparently we can't find out where they are yet we keep count of them.

I'd say 2.2-3 million in L.A. alone - the city, not the county.

Illegals do not pay taxes.

Example: We will take the sterotypical farm employee. He generates revenue for his employeer, this is taxed. This produce goes to a store where they also pay taxes on their revenue. There output is "taxed" several times indirectly and helps recoup the governments loses. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/06/04/AR2006060400965.html There is also research showing they actually do pay taxes.

That idiot has got some nerve writing a sign like that. We don't owe them jack. It's amazing how someone else from another country, comes into your country and demands you to do something else. That sign needs to be shoved... well you know where.

Ohhh if I was a cop and saw him waving that sign I would tackle him down.

Um, no.

Can you tell me a law from the Native Americans (who came from the Bering Strait btw) that said the Europeans couldn't come? How is it illegal immigration if they had no laws about it?

AHUGECAT

This has to be my favorite AHUGECAT post of all-time. It's like he assumes that when the Europeans arrived here, if they found out that the Native Americans didn't want "illegal immigration" the Europeans would just say "our bad" and turn around. They were going to wipe out the Native Americans no matter what their rules were.

Why would he be arrested? Free speech. And no, that doesn't make me angry, because I know he won't get tax-free jobs for waving a sign. I do know, however, that the new Arizona law will result in a significant increase of crime against police officers, mainly due to the fact that it's an unconstitutional race bill that grants the power to treat Mexicans as second-cIass citizens.Theokhoth

false statement...their are more than one type of threat. their are direct threats. and terroristic threats. this is a teroristic threat. also when he says "we" will shoot more police he is including himself in that threat.

[QUOTE="Theokhoth"]Why would he be arrested? Free speech. And no, that doesn't make me angry, because I know he won't get tax-free jobs for waving a sign. I do know, however, that the new Arizona law will result in a significant increase of crime against police officers, mainly due to the fact that it's an unconstitutional race bill that grants the power to treat Mexicans as second-cIass citizens.bytgames

false statement...their are more than one type of threat. their are direct threats. and terroristic threats. this is a teroristic threat. also when he says "we" will shoot more police he is including himself in that threat.

No, that's not how free speech laws work. Read the case law on Brandenburg v. Ohio to see what it would take for something to be unprotected by free speech; this sign waver wouldn't qualifty.

It's a moot point anyway, this sign looks fake.

Globalization is a myth. It's not happening.

AHUGECAT

Of course it is. How can you deny that?!

Because China, Japan, India, and practically every other nation isn't going borderless? If anything, they are going the opposite.

Globalization is defined as the increasing integration of regional economies, societies and cultures, not the dissolving of national borders.

I'm sorry, are you implying threats of terrorism were legal before 9/11?

Why then, would groups like the KKK or PETA not be terrorist organisations? US Federal Law requires something fairly specific to call something terrorism.

nope a law was passed against terroistic threats while george bush was in office. saying "WE meaning ME except plural is going to shoot POLICEMEN...in ARIZONA....isnt specific enough for you? imagine this...imagine it wasnt a sign he was holding up except it was a phone call to the police station saying this...you wouldnt consider that a threat? Thats like me standing in front of the white house saying.....I am going to shoot up the white house if such and such demands arent met...its a terroistic threat and its illegal

That sign does make me angry, but for all the unexpected reasons. Globalization and borderless continents are the future. Unified language is the only issue- should it be English, Spanish, or Mandarin?

AHUGECAT

Globalization is a myth. It's not happening.

lol wow. even if you dont think one world government is happening (which it is, thankfully) globalization has been going on for decades

You can't expunge the First Amendment like that. The Patriot Act did not neutralise freedom of speech, nor did it redefine terrorism to include a definition that would support you here.

saying "WE meaning ME except plural is going to shoot POLICEMEN...in ARIZONA....isnt specific enough for you?bytgames

Not really, it fails the immediate incitement of violence test. He's advocating violence, sure, but its the same as when the Klan would hold rallies calling to round up and assault African Americans.

imagine this...imagine it wasnt a sign he was holding up except it was a phone call to the police station saying this...you wouldnt consider that a threat? Thats like me standing in front of the white house saying.....I am going to shoot up the white house if such and such demands arent met...its a terroistic threat and its illegal

That example is very different though. You ARE threatening a specific target with an immediate act of violence in that scenario.

I'm not saying I agree with the guy, or what he's doing is smart, but that's not terrorism simply advocating the use of violence. The threat needs to be specific and likely to incite immediate violence against a specific target, perpetrated by a specific group.

That's the point of the problems with Brandenburg v. Ohio, courts have had great difficulty in finding something specific enough to test it with. This fake sign isn't going to be the watershed.
