I miss Snipes. He was probably the worst debator I've ever seen on GS (tho there are a few people that seem to want his throne), but the threads with him in them could be really fun sometimes.

Don't me wrong. Banning Snipes definitely made debates thread here a little less dumb, but his debating was so ridiculously bad that he was entertaining.

I've some very bad memories from Gamespot . Trying to forget those nightmare like moments :(

• System Wars, right after E3 2006. No sony fanboy could be seen on the board for weeks :lol: . The memes that were created were the giant enemy crab, real time weapon change, $599 US dollars and RIIIIIIIIIIIDGE RAAACEEEER! :lol:
• Waiting for the countdown until Rockstar Games showed the first GTA 4 trailer. Gamespot was slow, Gametrailers crashed, Gamevideos crashed and the Rockstar's site crashed. The overwhelming traffic brought teh interwebs to its knees.
• Porn suicides
• The CWU and its evangelism
• Seeing Zelda: TP flop
• Jeff Gerstmann getting fired :cry:

I remember when JPL raged in the Jeff Gerstmann thread here. So much hate for GS back then. Of course, who could forget that big april fools prank between solidruss and spazz, and everyone else :D

There's alos many other things. Mohan88's multi-thousand post God vs. Science thread, Crushmasters continuous religious threads, the Cake vs. Pie thread, the 2005 site redesign, just to name a few.

For some odd reason the oldest thing I've kept is one of the Lazer Beam Dolphinz comics. Most of my good memories of Gamespot are all of places and people that have left some time ago sad to say...but life goes on I suppose.

A girl help thread involving N64 games and butter.

That time there was a glitch where nobody could get banned and a few posters took advantage of it and kept posting porn threads. Funny looking back on it but I think I lost my innocence that night :P

I remember a thread where the TC was terrified because he was cleaning his satanic brother's room and a jar of thumbtacks or something jumped at the wall. It was weirdly hilarious.

Banned threads in particular certainly stand out. McJugga, Scorch-62's banned thread that wasn't, sideswipes - some ones I remember in particular.

Also cake vs. pie (that was hilarious), the July/August 2010 Wedding threads, various awesome PYPs.

Spazz and xaos' daily comedy duo was hella amusing back in the day. Those two were always having at each other :oops:
