I was looking back at these and more of the 'dark time' threads, I must admit I find them fascinating, seeing pre-Oct '10 opinions of particular users with a certain amount of hindsight about makes for interesting reading.

Many OT users have gone through rather marked character changes it would seem (myself included ofc), I found the overwhelming lack of derision an instantly-apparent interest, and also to read 'honest' everyday posts from particular user was surprising - though this may not strike you as it did me since you have had such interaction other places I suppose.

Anyway I'm apparently bent on rambling tonight so sorry but in terms of regarding documents as historical artifacts and their potential therein, I really think you might find Pg. 7 of Let Your Heart Out!! (@30ppp) 8th post down: your post quoting Dystopian and starting with 'I wish we' and ensuing posts, a very singular moment definitely worth reading. A moment of conception. Or inception maybe ;]
But definitely a post leading to a chain of posts resulting in a series of actions that led to a significant and established GSOT change. An OT History-seed indeed.
It's not really that interesting I guess but eh it's there to see and that interests me.

What my fond memoriees of old gamespot?

When it was actually called Gameguides.com a decade ago and it has the History of game series. Such as History of Resident Evil, History of Star Wars games, etc.
