Actually, a lot of people don't think its the true birthdate of Jesus Christ.
Even if it isn't, its still a celebration of the event.

Because my christmas as always been like that, giving, giving, giving and giving, I got showered with gifts, sometimes I was so consumed by greed I even teared open some presents when I wasn't suppose to. But now that I am older I could care less of materials, unless they benefit me in some way. Either way everyone loves gifts.

I'm a good deal different than Billy Graham. He's very Biblically unsound and liberal, if I recall correctly.CrushmasterI'm sorry but I disagree. It's harder to find a man more on fire for God then Billy Graham, even if his theology is wrong.
I dont think this is an opinion. It is the first one because u asked specifically for the true meaningpseudosinthetix

You're missing the point. In the end of all things, what does God care about in terms of salvation? Believing in Christ, and I think it's clearly obvious he does. And that's all that matters.

Yes, believing in Christ and repenting of your sins is all that is neccessary for salvation.Exactly. He's one of the most influential American evangelist ever besides Edwards. I think that reflects well on him.
But our beliefs and our actions reflect our walk and our faith.Crushmaster

For many, its hanging decorations and getting expensive presents. The holiday that is Christmas has nothing to do with Jesus. In fact, as someone else already mentioned, its a pagan holiday. December 25th is not Jesus's birthday. The bible doesn't even say when his birthday was, so to give a specific day of his birth is rubbish. dog64I don't think many Christians believe Christ was indeed born on December 25th.
I wish we knew Jesus' actual birthday so we could celebrate it then.Theokhoth
Agh... That'd mean we'd be celebrating Christmas sometime in April or March... That'd be annoying.

Yeah, but perhaps Christians would have their own holiday while everyone can still celebrate December 25.
