[QUOTE="Kon323"]Just by the fact that you and the whole universe was built tells you there is a God. You see a building and know someone built it, but you never saw that builder.Anamosa41
Again QFT

How can you qoute that for truthfullness. As I said before,You have seen builders actually working on buildings before, so that is how you know a construction worker built it. However you have never seen god building anything, so why assume he did.

That's because God said you are saved by accepting Jesus CHrist and trusting in him. Not just believing, but trusting. You are not saved by works alone,; otherwise, how much works do you know you have to do to get into heaven.

What if you know someone you love that's about to die, they did wrong things all their lives. What are you going to tell them? "Hey, your dying, you're going to hell no matter, cause you didn't do enough good works."

How about this? "Jesus Christ died for you, accept and Trust in Him and you'll gain everlasting life."

Kon323
well its my personal belief that if there were a heaven, everyone would go to it, because not a single soul deserves hell. Of course I don't believe in an afterlife, but if there turns out to be a crazy awesome just and lioving god he wouldn't creat a hell and thats just something ancient preachers threw in there to get people to join.

I idn't mean to say he hated us, just he is sending alot of mixed signals.

Some people get confused when hearing things about God but others understand God a lot better than most.

well if you understand god well, then why is he planning to punish me for using the freewill he blessed me with and wants me to have?

If you live by God's rules you won't have anything to worry about. Now, if you just do whatever you wantthat is not what God wants nor did he intend for you to do as you please and continue sinning. People don't realize that life is great when living for God.

I'm a good person if i say so myself, and commit less "sins" than most of the people around me. but I simply dont believe in any god. Yet somehow that gives me a oneway ticket to hell while the "god hates **** (pile of sicks) "group get eternal bliss. thats always bothered me, even the bible says all you need is faith but thats the only thing i dont want...

[QUOTE="Kon323"]Difference is that Jesus Christ did exist and died on the cross for you. Even historical facts outside the bible support that.Anamosa41

I'm not debating Jesus's existance, however, just because he did somthing for me, does not mean that his sacrifice affectedanything. After all, God does not exist.

FYI He is alive and well.

LOL people get put in mental hospitals for saying things similiar to that..

I don't think comfort has much to do with it, most Christians sincerely believe in God for many main factors: His salvation of our sins, His desire for us to love and have Him in our lives, and so we can save ourselves from hell. You can't just say oh God doesn't exist because He isn't revealing himself. It requires faith, not blind faith, look into Scripture, ask pastors, etc. so you can understand God. Maybe you'll see its not so unbelievable after all.

That's comfort. Which is nicer?

A: When you die, that's it. There is nothing for you afterwards. You just rot in the ground.

B: If you are good and believe in God, you get yo go to paradise.

I write these things of my Lord to you who find his words as being harsh. They do seem harsh to those who haven't accepted Christ into their lives. God is a loving and a fair judge. The simple truth is do you trust in Him or not. Do you know how God defines sin? He defines it as rebellion towards Him. Trust in His son, and His son well save you from that hellfire. It concerns me. I don't want anyone here to go to hell.

What if you don't spend you life in sin though. What if you give to charity, neverbreak the law, and always generally do the right thing. You just don't believe in god. How is it fair to burn you for all of eternity, then say how much you love him. It's not fair to throw someone in a lake of fire for not believing in something that is extremely difficult to grasp. That is not love. If he really didn't want people to rebel against him he would leave us withmore than a book and a million questions

You have free will. He loves you.

He apparantly wants us to sumbit to him willingly, yet threatens us with Hell (effectivly removing the willingly part).

Now it's my bedtime (I'm only sixteen and my parents won't give me a later bed time.) so I will now willingly go to sleep, or get grounded.

military school is not eternal torture. It isnt Infinit torture for finite sins. It IS temporary hardship followed by a second chance. if hell were more like prison eventually allowing you into heaven that would make sense, but the current christian version doesnt

I choose to think with an open mind and I try to take in as many possible answers as to why we exist. I don't just become a christian instantly because I was born into a family that is christian. Tell me, how the hell are Australian Aborginies supposed to go to heaven. They don't even know what the bible is. Is it fair to send themto hell too. There is a difference military school and hell.

I believe in reincarnation so none of this bothers me.

Though honestly I don't think you can scare an Atheist with the concept of being sent to hell since they don't believe in it. Its just wasting time arguing with them about it, just like trying to tell a religious person god doesn't exist is a waste of time too. In all fighting over whose believes or lack of believes are right is silly since there is such thing as free will.

They die, and through the transition from life to death, they are free of their human constraints and fragile minds and no longer have to deal with the endless pile of religion threads on Gamespot. Death be praised.

They die, and through the transition from life to death, they are free of their human constraints and fragile minds and no longer have to deal with the endless pile of religion threads on Gamespot. Death be praised.Blood-Scribe

Meh. I usually don't participate in these, but I decided to debate things instead of participating in hair topics.

Well, it's just that threads like this bring me closer and closer to leaving Gamespot, because I'm getting tired of seeing the boards getting flooded will all this self-righteous crap. That's why I haven't been as active on here as usual.

[QUOTE="Solid_Snake325"]You guys really don't understand. You will go to Hell without God. He's trying to save you so that you won't go to hell.DrummerJon

If he really cared about us then there wouldn't be a hell. Simple as that

And if mommy cared about you, then she wouldn't send you to military school, etc. Why do you submit to that kind of lazy, dangerous form of thinking?

I choose to think with an open mind and I try to take in as many possible answers as to why we exist. I don't just become a christian instantly because I was born into a family that is christian. Tell me, how the hell are Australian Aborginies supposed to go to heaven. They don't even know what the bible is. Is it fair to send themto hell too. There is a difference military school and hell.

oh i know this one! if you never heard of jesus youre safe, but if you heard of him (even once) youre responsible for blindly believing in him.

Oh I see. Its all coming clear to me now lol. In all honesty, I wish there was a god. At least it would give me something to look forward to after all of my hardships on Earth, but it just isn'tfeasible.

I feel the same, if I found out there was a god I would be so happy, even if it was a god that hated my guts. unfortunatly I can't brainwash myself into believing this stuff.

You shouldn't leave gamespot just because of a few religious threads. There is usually only a couple on the board at a time. And to snake yeah the peeing thread was great along with the manly to shave armpits topic

Well it's not just that. Just about any stereotypical thread on Gamespot, whether it be a girl thread or an evolution thread or a rap vs. rock thread, they're all a part of the same pile of bull****. That, and the fact that the spellcheck button doesn't get nearly as much usage as it should.

Yeah just because we don't have an answer that doesn't mean that we should just believe in anything presented to us. I don't know who posted this but someone said that if you wentback in time and talked to any great atheist during a storm he would say that he didn't know where the lightning came from, but it doesn't mean that Zeus is throwing bolts from the sky either. I look at our creation from the same perspective.

Yeah lol. I do kinda agree with you there. Sometimes I come on here and don't post at all because I look down the list and all I see is garbage. So I myself am not as active as I used to be but I do usually come her at least 2 or 3 times a week. I don't think I will stop coming here altogetherthough because sometimes there are fun threads to participate in after you sift through the crap.

Yeah, that's basically the same thing I do. I just look at all the crap and I just ask myself "Why the **** do I keep coming here?!?"

I don't want anyone here to go to hell.Kon323

I find it really disturbing that in this day and age, people still believe this crap..

I guess we won't know. It isn't a matter of belief. Whatever is there for us after we die, if there is anything at all, will be there regardless of what we believe.SpootyHead

We dont know what happens to their bodies? THats kinda creepy O.O
