I know I have said earlier in this thread that I could pick a favorite album but I have finally decided on one:
Brand New: The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me
This topic is locked from further discussion.
Loveless by My Bloody Valentine. It is the one album that ceases to really concern me as a collection of songs, and is instead a long, real... album. Every song has its own theme, and feels like a different angle of Loveless. Throughout any type of experience I've had so far in my small 19 years of life, its the most comforting, and most uplifting and empowering album I've listened to, and after 4 years of being my most listened to album there's still more to it to discover
Second is Siamese Dream. In a way it shares a similar, noisy sound with Loveless, but much more alternative rock, much more confessional( to steal Gordo's word)
Meh,like many I have too many albums so I don't wanna post some super long list. Probably this if I had to pick one.
I really want to say Siamese Dream however, as I got older I was just blown away by the fantastic poetic lyricism this album has. So sexual yet confessing and personal. Just a great album.

Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

That is also one of my favorites. The production is amazingly inventive.
The production is one thing, I mean production now a days is usually top notch, however the creativity that was put into that album in "mainstream" context is very mind blowing. Incredible huge breath of fresh air for hiphop.[QUOTE="GreySeal9"]

It felt way more thrown together, like there was not enough thought put into it.

Although I think Kanye is very talented musically, he is for sure a critics artist in which they usually rate his work fairly high, with that said I thought "Watch The Throne" was a pretty sloppy album. I think that people let it get a pass because his previous work was held so high. The first single for most radiofriendly albums usually foreshadows the rest of the record. "Odis" was just an overproduced, sloppy mess. I mean, I had to hear it at least 4 times just to understand anything of it and I mean that in a bad way. Like you said, the album felt very thrown together, last minute and rushed, in no way shape or form does it have the same finesse that "MBDTF" had. But then again, when you made quite possibly the best hip hop album of the decade, the guy needs a break right?[QUOTE="GreySeal9"]

Truth is Jay Z brings Kanye downI've actually got Fallen Santuary signed(!), but Mercy Falls might be the better album. Lyrically and muscially, they're both impressive, and I'd feel hard pressed to find a song on either of them that I don't like. For fans of progressive / power metal. My commute here in Houston is made more pleasant when one of these is cranked in my car. The songs are catchy; they make you want to bob your head and sing along.

I'm going to have to agree with Wildhoney as being the best Tiamat album (I know a lot of people would say Clouds is better, but I respectfully disagree). It's trippy and soothing at the same time.
Oh, and I really liked when their lead singer was on the Ayreon album The Universal Migrator.
Hard to choose but if i had to i would say the cold white light by Sentenced

I listened to that album everyday for about a month straight :P

1. Kanye West - MBDTF/College Dropout/Late Registration
2. The Game - Doctors Advocate/The Documentary
3. Jay Z - Reasonable Doubt
4. Radiohead - OK Computer/Kid A
5. Dr Dre - 2001
6. Arcade Fire - Funeral
7. The Flaming Lips - Soft Bulletin
8. GZA - Liquid Swords
9. Wu Tang Clan - 36 Chambers
10. OutKast Aquemini
I have a coupleor a fewalbums that are my favorite.
1.Clarity-Jimmy Eat World a amazing emo/punk rock album and with classic songs like Lucky Denver Mint, Just Watch The Fireworks are my two favorites.
2.A tie between Take Off Your Pants and Jacket,Blink 182 and Neighborhoods by Blink 182 off course. Mark,Tom and Travis always cheer me up with their music and Travis is probably one of my biggest idols I look up to through music as a percussionist.
3. For pop album it would be between Katy Perry's Teenage Dream and Kelly Clarkson's Stronger. I honestly just kinda gotten into Kelly Clarkson's newest album and I love it. I mean shes both attractive and has good music so its a win win for me and Teenage Dream was a great album last year.
4.I might get some trolls or hate for this but I enjoyed both Minutes to Midnight and A Thousand Suns by Linkin Park. I truly was hesitant on purchasing A Thousand Suns becuase I throughly read the reviews and they said it was mediocore with to many fillers but after listening to it, I enjoyed it.
5. Everything In Transit by Jack's Mannequin all I have to say is that this is one of my favorite albums to listen to in the summer and Bruised and Dark Blue are my favorites off it.
6.I really enjoyed Deliverence by Quietdrive a really good "below the radar band" from Minneapolis MN.
7.Phobia by Breaking Benjamin. Oh my god when I listend to some of their newest songs off of Dear Agony I wanted to hear some of their older muisc so I purchased Phobia and I was immediatly hooked. All I listend to was Breaking Benjamin for two months straight last year.
8. Box Car Racer by Box Car Racer. I truly loved Tom's first side project and I wished Tom contiuned Box Car Racer when Blink broke up. I am curious to see how many OT users have listend to this album or remember them. Also There Is is probably one of Tom's best songs he's ever written IMO.
9. I am not going to put up American Idiot by Green Day because I can care less about their views political wise even though they have the right to speak out against our goverment and soldiers through the first amendement but I loved Jesus of Sububria,Holiday and Wake Me Up When September Ends off that album though.
10. I know I mention Blink alot and their side projects but I enjoyed We Don't Need To Whisper and I-Empire by Angels and Airwaves. Secret Crowds is another favorite song of mine that Tom wrote. So these would be my top ten favorite albums.
It's a conflict between these twoRikardurCan't believe I forgot to mention Turn on the bright lights, I love that album.
[QUOTE="foxhound_fox"]"The Blackening" by Machine Head It is brutal and extremely memorable, something I have had a hard time finding in extreme metal. It just comes together as a complete work unlike any other record I've heard. "Now I Lay Thee Down" is my favorite song. However, I just got into Vader, and their very first studio album is very impressive. I'm very optimistic about where it will all go.Postmortem123
Nice choice :P
I like Halo - the main riff is crushing.
It's a good album, but Burn My Eyes is better, imo. :P Some of mine are: Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd Meddle - Pink Floyd Moving Pictures - Rush Paranoid - Black Sabbath Facelift - Alice In Chains La Sexorcisto: Devil Music, Vol. 1 - White Zombie Astro-Creep: 2000 - White Zombie Hellbilly Deluxe - Rob Zombie The New Order - Testament Possessed by Fire - Exumer Ride the Lighting - Metallica Communion - Septic Flesh Leviathan - Mastodon Burn My Eyes - Machine Head Resurrection - Chimaira etc.[QUOTE="ultrapc"]

Most of their fans like them because of the guitar work , while Sentenced is my number 1 band of all time , i still don't like ville's vocals . they completely ruin some songs . any way , here is my cover of Mourn (gs wont let me link )
