California. Nothing good comes from Cali. Followed closely by New York.

Something tells me you're judging these places because of their politics. Literally every kind of American life you can think of exists in California. From small, rural towns to massive city life.
This, california is a very beautiful state. It has just about everything, beach, deserts, valleys, mountains, skiing/snowboarding,hiking. Can find just about anything you like/enjoy. Vegas being only a few hour drive away is also amazing in itself.
Worst state? I'm not sure, maybe Missouri or ohio.
Vermont, I've never heard anyone say a thing about Vermont good or bad. Also I'll go with West Virginia. I've never heard many good things about West Virginia lol :P
The story of Massachusetts is the story of America! After 8 pages we haven't had a single Massachusetts hater, probably because there is nothing to hate. Mass Pride!!

Damn liberals! >:{.From the ones I've been to Florida, because of the horrible horrible climate. California is the one I've liked the most because of San Francisco, although I have no particular desire to go to LA.kuraimen
You hate one of the best things about Florida.
The climate at least stays consistent.

Consistently horrible. :P I was about to say this. I used to live in Florida but now I am in Michigan and I like it much better here. In summer it was just simply way too hot. I like the cold winters here in Michigan more than the unbearable summers in Florida.Consistently horrible. :P[QUOTE="kuraimen"][QUOTE="Jagged3dge"]

Hot and humid is a bad combination for me.Yup, the summer is terrible. The temperature is usually like low 90s with 100% humidity. :?
But the temperature usually goes to 70s or lower 80s in other parts of the year.

Oh ok, I've only been there in summer actually but I've had some friends living there and they say the whole year is similar but they might be wrong. It's between Oklahoma and Texas.
I may have to "give this one" to Texas, because it's even further South than Oklahoma, which is a huge point against it.
Maine isn't lame, most of stephen kings books are based in Maine.tenaka2Never read one of his books, but I stick with my vote for Maine.
[QUOTE="t3hrubikscube"][QUOTE="ToppledPillars"]I am going to say South Dakota!!That I do, my friend! ;]I know t3hrammicksqube agrees with me!!ToppledPillars
Anyone saying North Dakota SIMPLY DOES NOT UNDERSTAND, and I would be willing to bet that a majority of the people saying North Dakota in this thread have not even visited the state!! It is beautiful and prosperous and I will defend it to the death!!
!!Did you know that in North Dakota Max G. Taubert of Casselton built a 50 foot high pyramid of empty oil cans. It is believed to be the highest oil can structure in the world!!
Ya!! Casselton is very close to Fargo, where I live, so I have seen it many times! It is quite a spectacle.
Kansas isn't a southern state.:PMainly the upper central states (Michigan, Dakotas, Idaho) and some of the Southern States (Alabama, Mississippi, Kansas).

west virginia. hands down.comp_atkinsYou will all die in your sleep. :(
What's wrong with it being in the South? If it's because of the whole redneck stereotype, you should know this:It's between Oklahoma and Texas.
I may have to "give this one" to Texas, because it's even further South than Oklahoma, which is a huge point against it.

1. The big cities in Texas are generally somewhat liberal.
2. Austin is a really "liberal", "weird", "unique" city.
3. There are "rednecks" in most states... there are plenty of rednecks in the most liberal, coastal and northern states like California and New York. They just live in rural areas... just like in Texas or anywhere else.
Texas has big cities like Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, and San Antonio. I think you'll be pleased to know that the cities aren't filled with rednecks like the South is stereotyped as having.
